One of the more different blogs out there is strange maps, which recently cited these unique maps of Europe from the Eupedia site.

Zaine, I think you accidentally posted the image from "Percentage of Europe that is Tan".

Hmm, it's labeled "Frequency of fair hair in Europe" on the site at http://www.eupedia.c...t/blond_hair_map.jpg. The joke at the bottom reads:

Q. How do you get a blonde out of a tree?

A. Wave.

must have been the vikings - my mum actually has a viking/irish surname that they reckon is from the time the vikings stopped killing the irish and started marrying them ( dunno - round about 10th/11th centuries)
My excuse for blond hair :)

My wife's a viking chick (pure bred Norwegian) and she's got brown hair, so it's not automatic.

She's got Sami blood in her.

I am not too sure a genuine Same would be pleased to be called a Norwegian (or Swede, or Finn', or Russian): it is not by mere coincidence that the Sames now have their own parlaments in all these countries! They may be Scandinavians all right, but not in the traditional common sense.
