I'm finishing my new application which i originally started developing in order to save my time , and help me when learning some new things. I will probably participate with it... Mouser, can we see official logo that will stand on our mug?

Here it is... I represent you my new application: MyHelp v1.0Main purpose of MyHelp is to have a program that will store all the things that we cannot remember so easily. First make a category ( or categories . for example: "C++" , "PHP" , "Mails" , "usefull codes" or any other category you would like to have ) and then make as many entries that belong to selected category. This way you will have your own help system, or a reminder or something like it... You can mark some entries as favorites, and easily get to them. You can also perform a search in order to find some phrase in an entry tittle or entry body... I often use this programme, for example to store some important information about certain projects at work ( each has it's own category) , or to store some often used or interesting code in some programming language ( again, each language represents one category) or to store my friens' emails etc. HERE IS THE LINK TO NEWEST VERSION:http://www.donationcoder....opic=11166.0;attach=26625

Nice. I like. RTF content (selectable) would be great.

I *love* the sound of this program! It's so useful! Thank you for creating--and sharing--it. I've just downloaded it, and will give it a try. I have folders inside folders right now, and text files inside them, trying to organize different things I want to remember--tips for various programs, other things--so this feels immensely useful.

Love this program Blaster Great for unloading tidbits stored on my clipboard.
A send/to clipboard option pertaining to the page in the viewer would be nice when you want to re-use the said items.

raindew01 and nogojoe , Thank you. I feel great when someone likes app I make, and when someone actually use it. I know I do! And I use it a lot! Specially at work! A send/to clipboard option pertaining to the page in the viewer would be nice when you want to re-use the said items. I'm sorry, I didn't understand what you meant to say... To all: I will consider your suggestions , and maybe add some of it to this app. I developed it at work for two days , during my free time because I needed it to store some interesting codes and stuff, and i needed it like this. Not too complicated to use, fast ... If you ask me , I think it would be nice if MyHelp would highlight words we searched for... But, I really don't have much free time to add this... I noticed today that it had some kind of bug which didn't let you close "new entry" window if you wanted to close it and you didn't select category and title. You can download new version now that hasn't got that bug anymore. @mucksen: This looks interesting. Thank you for sharing it with us. I just needed something effecient , small and fast. P.S. I forgot to mention: "Search" button searches TITLE AND A BODY of saved record and searches for records that contain string at least as a part of some other record. And it is case- unsensitive.

Hi Blaster
What I meant was that when you have saved an item and stored in MyHelp when you want to re-use that item saved you have to select, right click and copy that item.
If you could code MyHelp to select all and copy to the clipboard or even to a word processor that item and this could be done by a single click on an icon.
Hope you understand.

Blaster, I *love* MyHelp; I use it all the time now. It makes it so easy to store all the tips I have (and new ones I find) for my programs, especially ones I'm still new to and learning (like MS Word--I finally had to switch over for the publishing industry, and iTunes, and other programs.
I know you said you don't have much time, so this might not be possible, but...I have a future update suggestion:
I'm hoping that you can make a way so I can export all the tips/files I have in MyHelp, so that I can easily 1) back it up, and 2) copy the info over to my desktop.
thanks so much for a great product!

Hey, PhotoComiX and raindew01, Thank you for nice words... I'm sorry, I would answer you sooner, but the damn flu got me stucked to bed for a while... wow, I'm really happy you all like MyHelp... I will definitely have to upgrade it... But, unfortunatelly time issue stays... I have so much things that needs to be done at work... btw, 1) back it up - you can do this just by backing up the "db.mdb" file... 2) copy the info over to my desktop. - You mean to copy some note to clipboard, or...?

thanks so much, Blaster. I'm glad there's a way to back it up. Knowing that, all i have to do is copy the db.mbd to put all the same notes in MyHelp onto my desktop. I think it's perfect.

Hy to everyone! after a month or two, I finally took some time to add some features you guys said you wanted this app to have... To be honnest, I added some features I needed too so, new version brings this: -- Drop down list representing categories will now show all the categories without any need to scroll down in order to get to last ( 40 categories are shown automatically ) . This is something that bothered me most -- MyHelp will now "remember" which categories you read most, and will order them in drop down list in that order. This is what I needed also -- I fixed some minor bugs A send/to clipboard option pertaining to the page in the viewer would be nice when you want to re-use the said items. -- I added this too this .zip contains db.mdb and .exe If you allready have db.mdb with records in it, leave it... Do not overwrite it with the new one.... I did all of this with a great hurry, so I didn't have time to test it properly, but I don't think there will be bugs... I uploaded new .zip because of a bug i found

If you allready have db.mdb with records in it, leave it... Do not overwrite it with the new one.... this sounds like a real recipe for disaster.. maybe you shouldn't include it in the zip, or else use an installer which will not overwrite it if it exists.

Yes, but what about those who downloaded it for the first time?
I think this is not that dangerous... Just leave your existing db...

By dangerous i mean that i'm assuming if someone mistakenly overwrites their existing database, they will lose their entire collection of notes. That is dangerous.
As for people who downloaded it for the first time.. a nice solution would be never include a starting database and have your program create it on first run if it doesnt exist.
Or, as i said, use an installer (Inno Setup is free and nice), which knows to only install the blank database file if it doesnt already exist.

Yes, I know, you are right...
Unfortunatelly , I do not have time to do it now... I'm in a middle of something...
Anyone is free to do it, if he wants to do it... I do not remember i saw option to only install the blank database file if it doesnt already exist...?

inno lets you set for each file whether it should only be installed/copied if it doesnt already exist.

my suggestion, export and import records so you can share with friends, say just one record, or a few at a time, or a whole category, maybe as xml, whole category browse mode, and also online syncronization could be good.
p.s. will it run portably?
p.p.s. ITS GREAT!!! i have tried to do similar with stickes and stuff, but this searches and keeps it all in one place, also a suggestion from a friends, a minimode with an always on top function, so that you can add notes quickly, maybe if you dont select a category it goes into unfiled category, so you can add quicker, also less popups confirming when you add a note/help topic.
i see from the rest of thread that you are busy, maybe you could release the source code, or maybe things dont work like that on this site...
