Zinio Reader

There's a good chance I am just far, far behind, but perhaps some of you have also not previously heard of Zinio. I came across it while writing my review of Archivarius last week. It's a digital magazine service - the software seems pretty good, and some of the deals are very good indeed. I bought a year's subscription to PC Magazine for less than I could buy 2 issues here in England. The main site is at zionio.com, and that PC Mag offer is here: http://zinio.com/offer?issn=0888-8507

Yes it is good. My only gripe is that I don't like reading magazines on screen, and you don't get access to freebies (like cover CDs). Also it is difficult to read them in bed ;)
They have the advantage that everything is hyper-linked within the mag so it is quick to move around and find things.
It is a while since I looked a Zinio, but IIRC you can also do text searches, which is good.
Out of curiosity can you redownload magazines if you damage a copy, and can you share them with others (one of the big advantages of the real thing)?
Personally I have a very bad experience with Adobe eBooks and am very wary now about buying any electronic books/mags that are encrypted.

Apparently, yes, you can share them - there's stuff on this on their website. Overall, I thought the site was pretty well done, and their faqs are straightforward and clear. The main reason I'm keen is that I often need to travel with a laptop, and I really look forward to being in some village in India reading my favourite magazine! Actually, they don't have any of my favourites, but PC Mag should be interesting ;)

What's the extension for Zinio's files? Is there any free downloadable sample?
I would like to see if it's possible to make a new TrID's definition for that file type.
Thanks,
Bye!
