Seems like he like to steal other's hard work.

Another blog of his:

(there is no source or credit given to the original author)

How can he possibly defend this.  Why bother even trying.

You're right, there is no defense.  It's just plain evil.  However, by way of understanding:

- It's possible "Deny" is a child, and hasn't learned how incredibly wrong his actions are;

- Deny may come from a culture that does not respect intellectual property at all, and anything he can get his hands on is fair game.

Of course, I believe Occam's Razor applies: he does it because he can and because there are no consequences for being caught.

I tend to believe you on that.

Considering the statistics.ro link and the language on the site, I'm guessing he's Romanian. I joked about it earlier, and of course I don't want to make a blanket statement that all Romanians are scumbag thieves (especially since my wife is Romanian!), but Romania isn't exactly known for it's integrity. It's one of those countries where a US bank can't guarantee a money transfer will get to the right person.

I know from personal experience. I was worried my mail-order-bride payment wouldn't make it. :P

LOL. I'm Polish. I almost got a mail order bride. You see, one of the light bulbs in our living room when out, and with our small family we didn't have enough to change it. So I thought about a Russian bride, but I couldn't figure out how to get all that rubble in that small Air Mail pouch.

Okay, I get the joke about the rubble (:D), but I don't understand what the light bulb has anything to do with.  :-\

I think there's a "how many polish guys does it take to change a lightbulb" joke in there.

Either that, or the lightbulbs at tinjaw's house are nuclear-powered.

Aha!

With our small family we didn't have enough to change it.

I took that to mean money, not family members.  ;D

I've been out all week. Got to thank Chris (Veign) for the heads up on this. What's hilarious is that you can't do a URL search without hitting a dozen "my/good/great/ultimate/favorite software list" sites, and mine is just one among hundreds online. I should be flattered. Note the topic links still link to anova.org/software !!

That's like plagiarizing a paper written in Word and not removing the author's meta data.  ;D

I just checked it again and it looks like he's changed the name to the Great Software List, but the source is still obscurely placed at the bottom. Interesting that it now has 0 Diggs.

The reason why it has 0 diggs is because it was removed from the digg site, as if it had never been submitted.

Check the original digg link and you will see that it, the previous diggs, and all comments are gone.

And I just checked in the comment history of my digg account, and there is no listing of any comment having been made by me on that post, so they were all deleted from digg's system.

That cool it was removed from Digg.  Didn't know they policed the submission for content violation like that - at least on this level.

Now would be the time to re-digg the list with helpful comments like, "this has been totally plagarized; to see the source material it was stolen from go to..."

Before it builds up another zillion positive diggs.

VERY funny Ralf Maximus!!! I was thinking along similar lines, but my post would not have been nearly as good.

Ken

P.S. O, and I almost forgot, I am never saying anything bad about Zaine's page!
