as Armando explained above with Farr incorporating the Locate plugin, you can have the best of both - live & indexed search!

Problem report: The dropdown windows listing the matches consistently comes up several pixels too short. I have normal font size specified in my display settings.

looks like it might be a skin issue.. one solution is to go to FARR options, and switch to "Plugins, Updates, Fonts" tab, and check the "Override default font settings" and put in custom values for result height, etc.

Yes, I think that most of these problems are "skin related". Even farr's window placement: I had problems with farr not keeping exactly its given position on the desktop, but when I removed the skin, it behaved perfectly.

Strange. I've never had such problems with slenderFARR myself. From the screenshot it looks like CWuestefeld is somehow using a bold font. I surmise that the same problem will appear with any other skin. @CWuestefeld: Could you check whether this problems also appears with other skins or only with slenderFARR? AFAIK VCL Skin SkinBuilder doesn't provide the possibility to specify the row height of a table. Merry XMas, Robert

@CWuestefeld: Could you check whether this problems also appears with other skins or only with slenderFARR? Yes, this is happening in all skins. I changed my font settings from bold to regular, but that does not seem to affect the behavior at all.

possible double shutdown issue with FARR + Locate. I have both installed and running (the locate find window as well as FARR) when shutting down, i have to shutdown twice! Usually after the first shutdown FARR and locate are left running in the system tray, while everything else has shutdown. I have to manually exit FARR to be able to shutdown normally. I don't know how else to diagnose this. What do ya think?

Problem report: The dropdown windows listing the matches consistently comes up several pixels too short. I can confirm this problem (at least with the SkinnyTunes skin) - but can't reproduce it right now since fixing it (see below). Specifying custom heights as suggested by Mouser did not help. But the thing which DID help was unticking "Hide statusbar completely". After this (and a restart of FARR; don't know, if necessary) I could hide the statusbar again without the original problem reoccurring. I'm waiting for it to show up again, so I can test, if other skins are concerned too. Oh, btw, GREAT work with FARR, Mouser! And I have to say, great work, once again. Thank you very much! P.S. No bold font was involved on my side.

Hi all, I have FARR configured to hide after launching, but it never does that. It stays open. Please see attached for my configs. What am I missing?

I ended finding out the cause before I got to this thread. It was indeed the first plugin listed below that did it. Once I disabled it, things are working fine now.

Hi, I have been a happy user of FARR, Google Desktop and Humanized Enso. Enso has recently went Open Source. While I think that Enso is a great product (as well as FARR) with an interesting view concept, it may benefit with FARR experience Maybe interested readers / developers can take a look at Enso to "cross polinizate" ideas. http://www.humanized.com/I am sure that it can be of mutual benefit.

New release 2.04.03 is up, mainly with bugfixes for some problems that nitrix and others found (see first post for list of changes).
Also with this release is an update of known plugins which can now be easily installed using the updater tool (right-click on FARR tray, choose update, switch to Installable Packages). There are only a few plugins not listed (clock, google suggest, and farrtunes), because they don't have update files. when authors get those prepared i will include them.

Note: For those of you who downloaded version 2.04.02 which was up from last night to early this morning, i accidentally included a couple of plugins that were auto-installed with the release (klipkeeper and todolist i think). You can delete this if you dont want them by deleting the folders in the Plugins directory. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Congratulations mouser. I'm really happy to see you actively at work again on this marvelous app. BTW the link to Version 2.05 seems to still link to Version 2.04.03. Is it just me? Thanks.

I am yet having small fonts problem when I use internal viewer Mouser is there wa way to tell if Farr is using 32bit or 64 bit version of Iex under 64bit xp? Would that be a problem?

Just wanted to drop a note that I updated to 2.12.03 using DcUpdater and am once again impressed. I was already impressed by the responsiveness and care taken with the IE UserAgent fix and the toggle for the ShellExecute behavior. Then I saw the pretty new option tree. Just lovely! And as I lurk and read various posts, I know I'm barely scratching the surface of what FARR can do.

the problem I have with locate plugin is that when I start search via plugin it hangs for a w hile because it is bringing first hits. Is there a way to disable such behaviour? I use loc -lfd -p for full search as Armando explained above with Farr incorporating the Locate plugin, you can have the best of both - live & indexed search!
