Software to catalog video files
(1/1)
Phoenix2020:
I am looking for a software to manage my collection of video files. Perhaps someone in this forum can recommend me one ;)
I am looking for the following functionality:
- The User should be able to add keywords, descriptions or other metadata to a video file
- The User should be able to search for that information
- The software should support avi, mpg, divX, wmf, ... files
- The software should be able to make at least one thumbnail per video file
- Better: The software should make several thumbnails per video file (for example every 30 seconds) that are stored in the database
- The software should support UNICODE (for example filenames with Chinese letters)
- The software should work under Windows (XP)
If I search for such a software, I find several ones, but they all only work with MAC OS (for example iDive or FootTrack). Does someone know a comparable software for Windows?

Ant Movie Catalog does most (all?) of what you're asking, and it's free/open source :) There's another program out there call "All My Movies" as well, but the interface of that program gives me nightmares so I wouldn't know how well it stacks up in other areas.
