Stupid IE question
rjbull:
OK, OK. Enough banging head against keyboard.
If I'm at a Web page, how do I make IE open up another window so I can go and check something on some completely unrelated Web page? If there's a link I can right-click, I can do that then edit the address, but if there isn't?
I must be missing something obvious <grump>
wr975:
Eh... select File / New Window?
I'd recommend a IE frontend browser, like Slimbrowser (my favorite), Maxthon, etc... 100% IE compatibility and many new features. All of them with tabbed browsing...
Veign:
- Hold shift and click a link will open the link in a new window
- Ctrl-N will open a new window
mouser:
i agree with wr975 about using an improved front end.
(i use netcaptor - not free).
Carol Haynes:
I really like Maxthon (which I only discovered recently).
There are a few useful things they have hidden from the user (such as the File > Send to desktop link in IE) which are a bit frustrating but it is a much easier to use browser.
One thing I found took some getting used to is the way new windows open in the a new tab, but not in the foreground! It took me ages to realise the page was there - just had to click on the new tab.
The other things is that not all IE toolbars are picked up. I use Canon Easy WebPrint a lot but Maxthon doesn't see it.
