tinjaw showed a screenshot featuring the cover of "Blondie". Blondie without the band is Deborah Harry, well, Blondie is Debbie Harry. When I was a young man she was soooo hot and was hitting with Heart of Glass, Sunday Girl, Denise, One Way or Another, Rapture, Call Me, Hangin' On The Telephone, and more. I liked a lot of their music - and I still play these tracks regularly - but I was primary a fan of Blondie, Debbie Harry, and secondary of Blondie, the band. This is how the babe was looking 1979-1981:

Blondie re-hitted around the millenium and are still quite famous, but you can read all about it at blondie.net,  wikipedia, and allmusic.com

Today Deborah Harry is 62 of age (Edit: born July 1, 1945, Miami), but still going strong:

A musical version of Madonna's 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan is set for London's West End.

The stage show will incorporate several hits by New York new wave act Blondie, as well as an original song penned by the band's lead singer, Debbie Harry.

"The story just works with the lyrics," said Harry, 62:

How did / do you like Blondie?  :tellme:

Darwin:
Blondie is 62?! Time flies, doesn't it? I liked Blondie a lot when I was a teenager, though they'd been broken up for a few years at that point, and am always thrilled when one of their tracks comes on the radio. To me the band and Debbie Harry are synomymous (I suppose I should fee bad for the rest of the band!).

Thanks for the memories, Curt

That was exactly why they broke up...   ;)

But I am glad they re-united; they even made it to some important Hall Of Fame!
- so I guess the band members now are happy about it too...

Ah Curt ...
I remember being sick at home (from school) in bed - a real treat at the time  :P
having a radio & hearing Heart of Glass for the first time -
it was a hit so heard it a good bit after that - think it's still my favourite Blondie song
Debbie Harry is impressive but I love/d the music first..

Had they hits before that - I think they did but that was when I really took notice
just reading that wikipedia link
yes they had some great music before that but I only got to know it later
Denis and (I'm Always Touched by Your) Presence, Dear
I only ever knew the singles..

app103:
I had Eat to the Beat on 8-track.  :P

Atomic and Shayla were 2 of my fav songs when I was 13-14...but the whole album was great.  :-*

Strange trivia: Back in 1996, the New Jersey State Treasury Department used "One Way or Another" as their theme song for their tax amnesty program, that tried to get tax cheats to turn themselves in, granting them immunity from prosecution if they did.  ;D

Patco licenses both the music of "One Way Or Another" and the original Blondie recording for a Tax Amnesty offered by the New Jersey State Treasury Department. The radio and television campaign, created by Gianettino and Meredith of Short Hills, New Jersey, runs for three months and causes the state to collect $60,000,000.00 in back taxes. No doubt it had something to do with the lyrics of the song assuring delinquent taxpayers that "One way, or another, I'm gonna find ya, I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha...."
