Ejem. I have created many of that folders with listas.exe , an old program to read a txt file and make automatically the subdirectories.
I don't remember where i download, but i think is programmed in C because was in a c forum that now don't exist, but the programmer is in the spyware forum.

There's also Remove Empty Directories: http://sourceforge.net/projects/rem-empty-dir/

It won't color the folders in Windows Explorer but it will show you which folders are empty and allow you to delete them.

I know, but is not the point.
I am a little fat this day, so I decided this week try dancing salsa.
And there is a lot of figures. Until the moment : cuban salsa, line salsa, and other dances about 418 folders.
Now my target is collect videos of the figures. When a folder contain a video i can study the folder.
This process is useful with many biyective applications in real world.
Is not comfortable see videos and don't remember if you have documented until this moment.
and is not a matter of alphabetical order because some videos contain 18 figures or more. ......
So may be a headache if you don't remember - and remember is a la lack of my memory - what folders are not empty.

I have installed and works well the free version.
Now how can I control automatically the difference from an empty folder ?.
I don't see in the compare table of versions clearly this possibility.
I think are manual modifications on the folders only. One by one or in group, but don't let automate the condition "empty folder".

Of course with the freeware Fast empty Folder Finder I can't too, but at least can remain open while I am supervising the status "empty folder" executing again.
So I will need a monitor feature in FolderMarker. Or I am not able to see this feature in FolderMarker.

Is it possible ?

I am going to tell you what's for :
I am beginning to learn SALSA dance because i am a little .... fat.... Ejem.
so i begin to collect figures or steps names and create a folder for each one.
Then i have a lot of folders.
I have to document with videos each figure or steps.
But when you have a lot of folders i forget what folders have been documented. So I would like to know quickly what folders are empty.

Best Regards

I am searching for software like this :
Fast Empty Folder Finder
Multicommander

The first one is slow. I have to locate the subfolder.
The second one is a general purpose folder manager like directory opus and others.

I would like a quickly filter.

Best Regards

I think will go well. Now I have to wait to see the service running to detect and kill him.

Process Tamer promises :
from the link you give me :
"Of course there are times when you probably won't want Process Tamer to change process priorities, such as when playing games or if you are burning a cd/dvd on a slow computer; just double click its icon to toggle it on and off. Or you can also specify override rules for specific applications in order to tell the program to ignore them, force them to high or low priorities, or even to kill them as soon as they are found running.

The new version 2 release includes a new separate standalone configuration tool which lets easily setup exclusion rules, manually adjust process priorites, and more, without affecting the efficiency and resource use of the resident system tray tool. "

Process Lasso will let you specify a list of processes to kill immediately.  Mouser's Process Tamer may be able to do the same sort of thing although I'm not sure.

Running to try beginning with Process Tamer.  Kiss

Best Regards

Ejem. The concept is clear after analyze. Applying
 embarassed tellme

You don't have to go the macro route.  But I figured the mechanism is there and you don't have to mess with temp filename stuff.  Plus newer versions of Windows are finicky about creating files.  You could use a program that just calls CreateFile() but it may need to be run as administrator.

I have several utilities to generate one or more empty txt files in a folder. so the purpose now is create with the contextual menu. But I think you are right. Is only create a new empty txt file with an entry in the main contextual menu.

How can i do that ?
Or what am i doing bad in the prior script ?

Best Regards

Applied.
Nothing happen after multiple proofs.

I will revise everything trying to determine what i am doing bad

the code i use :

Formatted for Autohotkey with the GeSHI Syntax Highlighter [copy or print]
  1. #NoEnv  ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases.
  2. #Warn  ; Recommended for catching common errors.
  3. SendMode Input  ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.
  4. SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir%  ; Ensures a consistent starting directory.
  5. Click,Right
  6. Sleep,200

This ahk should do it.

[copy or print]
Sendmode,input
Click,Right
Send,w
Sleep,200
Send,t

Compile it to exe.. maybe NewTextFile.exe.
In RegEdit go to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
create a key
New Text File
under that create a key
command

for default value put path to NewTextFile.exe
example C:\Utils\NewTextFile.exe

Since there is no window it should not block the mouse.  It's just a macro to right click to open menu, then sends 'w' and then 't'  the system does the rest.  It's just opening the New submenu.

I don't understand all the concept, but I will try and comment.

Ok.  After the text file is created do you want to open it in an editor or just double click to open?

Just double click to open. the same behaviour like in the "new" secondary contextual menu.
