General Software Discussion / Re: How do you launch stuff?
« on: September 19, 2007, 12:40 PM »
for RL things... I tend to use rocket fuel to launch them;
for software... I use bbLean and the hotkey plugins :]

Living Room / Re: How much RAM do you have on your PC?

128/256 mb [one stick is kinda broken, and works when it wants to]
WinXP SP2.
Photoshop. Audio mixing software. Coding. Web browsers. Everything at the same time. Running kinda smoothly :)

TOOWILD: Yep, that's my bedroom. Nope, the fire dept won't care if anything blows up [they don't know what a computer is]. Give your daughter a nice can of pepperspray and tell her that's a magical spray that will make boys happy, especially when applied THERE.
Thanks for the good laugh :]

i used the win2k compatibility mode trick and works like a charm
go to %programfiles%\msn messenger\msnmsgr.exe and set it to win2k compatibility mode.

I might write an automated patcher, if there are enough requests... 2 requests to go :P

Greetings,

this free program process tamer I thought was good?? until I came here, just to jump threw hoops, is just waste of bloody time!

then they want a donation...you guy are nuts.

??

Hi.
First of all, 'THEY' want a donation because the software is DONATIONware. The site is called DONATIONcoder... any pattern?
Second, you don't HAVE to donate MONEY; what about donating time? Hunt for bugs, correct 'em, be nice with the comunnity...
Third, there's always the free keys.
Greetings from somewhere cold,

Living Room / Re: ShopCV.com -- A Scam or Legitimate?
« on: September 06, 2007, 04:27 PM »
http://web.archive.o...ttp://www.shopcv.com <-- they've been online since 1998
http://www.quantcast.com/shopcv.com <-- they have quite a lot of visits.
http://alexa.com/dat...%2F%2Fwww.shopcv.com <-- but alexa doesn't say so.
I also found a lot of complaints, and their website doens't look like worth a penny at all...
Just my POV, your mileage may vary.

Just my 2 cents. Copy protection components/addons/software is plainly stupid. If you don't code it yourself, you have quite a large chance to get it cracked two seconds after release.

Read http://www.searchlor...rg/protec/protec.htm . Pretty outdated, but the non-platform-specific advice is just damn right.

Get involved on the Reverse Engineering community, you'll find someone who can help you protecting your apps.

Realize that there's no uncrackable protection, and that yours WILL BE cracked. It's just a matter of time [and about how bored the cracker is :P]

So, good luck in your quest!

What can we do about it?
I agree with you. They fucked up on Vista. Will they change that? NO WAY!
Btw... if you got scared with Vista...

...and of course...
http://www.winsupers...om/faq/windows_7.asp

My favourite quote from the FAQ: "Microsoft says it might also make a subscription-based version of the OS available to consumers, but that's still in flux."

  for Barnacle. Amazing!

I fixed the colour bug and the i-like-painting-in-borders bug.

Here's the fixed source. http://barnacle.pastebin.com/f1e4eabe6

-- a happy barnacle user.

|edit info| fixed another little bug I introduced :/
might seem weird, but if I don't split it in three parts it doesn't use the right color :|
