This product looks to be very good to me. I particularly like the integration with Skype so there can be a conversation while control is going on.

For paid software I can absolutely swear by Radmin. If you want high end with file transfer, etc. you cannot beat it and for what it does it is very reasonable $.

I'm going for a dual core CPU coz they have the highest GHz per core and I've read time and again right here on DC that most current apps just aren't designed to make use of multiple processors - the price differential between duo and quad is not that much, CPU power is the _last thing_ I'd compromise on esp. since it's been the biggest bottleneck on my system for years.

A question I have, as I plan to get a new computer prior to the end of the year; I think I read somewhere that applications can be set to use one of the (dual or quad) CPU's and that would improve the performance of a particular application. Any truth to that or can anyone link me to an article about that.
Also, does the application specifically need to be built to make use of that, or is it just a "setting" thing?

Ok, I don't know what I did, but I did sumpthin' 

When I first downloaded WW it placed an icon for the Config Settings file on the desktop and another to use the app in the system tray. Everything worked fine, I was able to make an app. (Eraser) open to the positition and size that I had set it to do using WW; tested it several times and it repeated just fine.

Then after a reboot the icon in the tray is nowhere to be found, and I can't use WW. The icon for the Config. Settings file remains on the desktop and I can open it, but a usable WW has left the building! 

Please tell me how to get her back, was just getting aquainted.

Just an update to let you know that WinWarden2 does the trick, has an extremely small footprint and consumes practically no resources.

I don't know if it works for all programs, but if you position the program to the size and location you want it, hold down ctrl and push the exit button. Then the next time you run the program it should re open it in the same spot and teh same size as last time.

Thanks for the tip. I had tried this but there are a few programs that I use often that this does not apply. As mentioned in my OP I use Eraser and it always defaults to about 4x larger window size than what is needed. It would seem that it should be standard with a windows application that once you resize and close it, that it would reopen to that size and screen location. It works with Notepad, and many other apps, but not with Word; go figure!

Thanks, I downloaded Sizer and installed, but it does not appear to do what I want; but it is late

It seems that sizer is designed to let you right click on a window and resize that to a preset size that you determine. This would work, but what I really want is to resize the program window once and then have it open to that size and position every time it is opened without any further input. If Sizer does this I have not figured that out.

I will give WinWarden a try tomorrow.

I have a problem with just a few applications (Eraser is one) that I cannot set the size and location of the apps window and it reopen in that location and size. Always defaults to much larger size.

Is there someway to correct this, perhaps a tweak in XP?
