General Software Discussion / Re: Photo Scanner Software
« on: May 25, 2009, 08:06 AM »
My mum says she might have the negatives. That would save a heck lot of time!

have you got a software solution for that ??
I've never scanned negatives but imagine you'd need something fairly specialised ...
I thought it was possible with the scanner I have.

I was more tlalking about alternative software, which allows me to scan more than 1 image at the time because the default software sucks big time.

General Software Discussion / Photo Scanner Software
« on: May 24, 2009, 04:04 AM »
Hi There,

some time ago I was looking trough photo books with my girlfriend, and I thought: What if the house burns down. Those memories are extremely valuable. I've a scanner, this one:multimedia_HP Flatbed Scanner.jpg

The problem is: What software should I use? Could I use software so that I could scan like 3 pics at the same time? What is the most efficient way to do this?

There are many pictures, like 500~1000 of 'em.

Thanks for all the replies!

Puts some files in a my documents sub folder

Is that hard to create?

Post New Requests Here / Re: Vista Multiple Mouse Cursors
« on: May 05, 2009, 06:02 AM »
You mean like you have 2 cursors who do the same thing or you can use 2 mouses?

Could try systeminternals Zoomit.

http://technet.micro...ernals/bb897434.aspx

hot key zoom-move mouse to pan
Thats a nice piece of software, but I wanted to use the internal zoom function of programs

This is a pretty complex thing that you're after and I have no possibility to work on it ATM.

It has some similarities to what I was aiming for with the AlbumDisplayer plugin (https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=13955.0 ) -- to very quickly, and without stealing too much focus from other apps, let the user browse/filter through a collection of some sort and then do actions (play audio/run game) on the items. Though AlbumDisplayer is currently in a much cruder form than the thing you're requesting and it presupposes that the images are downloaded separately.

I still think that FARR could be a great media library displayer. A plugin that utilizes Everything search could very quickly do live searches for thumbnails, read metadata files (separate apps to download metadata and covers for music already exist) and display results in a slick large-thumbnailed FARR window. The user can then filter further or run or otherwise interact with the content items. That type of setup could work well for music, movies, tv episodes, books, games, image collections, comics -- well almost anything one can collect and represent visually through a thumbnail.
The FARR ting could be activated via a shortcut like tv and then the search query. But I think I can not create such thing.

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Taskbar toolbar mod
« on: May 02, 2009, 07:18 AM »
I've created my own taskbar toolbar, but I want some modifications there. I would like to be able to make a folder doubleclickable which launches a specified shortcut, and I want to see what it's like with larger icons and some higher line spacing.

Site/Forum Features / Re: Feature Request: Copy Code
« on: May 02, 2009, 05:07 AM »
good ideas.  how about 2 buttons at top of highlighted code.
1. copy all code to clipboard
2. expand code box to show entire code
Sure that's cool. I bet there are tons of scripts for SMF, sure you can find one :)

General Software Discussion / MTP Sync Software
« on: May 01, 2009, 04:29 PM »
MTP is a default protocol and stands for media transfer protocol. I'm looking for a very simple piece of software which allows me to create playlists and sync them to a mp3 player supporting this protocol. Songbird has it build in, but I'm looking for something different than songbird. WMP is a no-go, because it sucks.

« on: May 01, 2009, 06:01 AM »
Does anyone think this is a good idea or if something like this has been done before?
Well I would definitely use it, but I do not think it is doable

74
Is this possible? To convert a picture to a pdf file which can be printed on a4 or a3 (specified by user) and with preview function. Something like Rasterbator, but without the dot function. I've this really big image which I like to print on several a3's. A friend of mine can print it, but I have to mail him something, he is not installing software...

Nice work skrommel! I have (I'm sorry) 2 feature requests:
  • Change the wave volume while holding control and pressing up/down vol
  • Fade out, I think it looks nice
Great work!
