General Software Discussion / Re: Firefox 4.0 Beta 1
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:49 AM »
It becomes clear that the address bar should be below the tabs bar when your browser uses pages for more than web browsing. Opera for instance has chat pages where the address bar is not even displayed at all.

The address data is tied to the page (tab) rather than all pages.

Having the address bar below the tab is more than just a personal preference IMHO.

I tried this and it aligned the first 2 of my partitions only; 3 more are labelled as "unaligned" (presumably meaning they are alignable) despite trying to align them with this tool.

aren't those icons from the cache ?  if that is the case, then they probably might not be automaticially updated when u update the pic.

In addition to Farr, DCupdater was also crashing ... I had to uninstall Farr entirely and reinstall to get it working (DCupdater works fine now too_.
Perhaps sopmething about the farr locate plugin...not sure.

Any further information on what was probably behind this would help me know if I might have greater problems as DCupdater was crashing also.

xteq setup was very useful when it first came out, over the years particularly since XP, it's usefulness has greatly declined in my view

General Software Discussion / Re: Clipboard Managing-Which one?
« on: May 06, 2010, 06:34 AM »
I use clipcache pro .... but it is not free

87
for general file cleanup, I use CCleaner as a first step and also Diskmax

88
I've had freeze problems too ... and it does use resources ... it doesn't respond that well to ctnl-alt-del either

89
I would hope any half smart program would re-create any folder needed that it created as empty to begin with.

90
because of clutter left by uninstalls .... of course it is wise to review what folders to delete and where they are located.

91
Hmm, Not sure what u want ... I use empty folder nuker which interfaces into the filemanger on right click

I find it easier to download a FF addon with a non-firefox browser

I don't know why so many people like Ubuntu, when I tested out 4 distros, it came in last. For one thing, it is totally ugly and feels like it belongs in the windows 3.1 era or something.

I highly recomment Linux Mint for beginners. A write up recently appeared. http://www.makeuseof...-a-desktop-linux-os/
