I use Win-Space, although I'd rather use just the Win key by itself.

I suppose I could accomplish that with AHK, but I don't have an AHK script running, and I don't feel like having another program running just for that.

Find And Run Robot / Windows Key ONLY for hotkey
« on: March 16, 2010, 01:48 PM »
I would like to launch FARR by just hitting the Win key (and then I'll use Ctrl-Esc if I want to access the Start Menu from the keyboard).

Is this possible?  The Win key is not in the list of keys, and selecting a modifier without a key doesn't appear to be an option.

Shadow, nearing age 13.  Unfortunately, he didn't make it to 13...

Although not billed as a sticky note app, Windows PowerPro (http://powerpro.webeddie.com/) has a sticky note component.

It allows notes to stay on top of other windows (or not), rollup notes, note categories, custom colors, and more.

The memory usage for PowerPro is about the same as a dedicated sticky notes program, and also provides app launching, sys info, clipboard management, reminders, and more.

One thing that comes to mind that might be something along the lines of what you're looking for:

http://www.quest.com...potlight-on-windows/

"Spotlight® on Windows is Quest Software’s powerful diagnostic and problem resolution tool for Microsoft® Windows®"

Also, Fix-It Utilities has some of the stuff you're not looking for, but some of the diagnostics it contains may be helpful.  Here's a link to a free version:

I've used http://www.docu-trac...ge_Tools/pdfx_viewer with satisfactory results.

I tried a number of clipboard managers looking for the best combination of:

-Copy formatted text, paste as plain text (as two steps: 1.copy & 2.paste, no in-between step)
-Paste from clipboard history (as either formatted text or plain text)
-Small memory footprint, minimal performance drag

I liked ArsClip on the first two fronts, but not on the 3rd.  I eventually turned to the clipboard management built into my favorite multi-purpose app (launcher, sys info, window management, hotkey manager, sticky notes, etc): Windows PowerPro.

I then decided that it would be nice to add the ability to change text case easily.  PowerPro has functions for converting text to upper, lower, title, sentence case and more.

Two other tools that can handle this sort of thing are AutoIt and AutoHotKey

General Software Discussion / Re: What's your mouse of choice?

I like my Kensington Expert Mouse.

I've decided that wireless mice (and keyboards) are a pain.  I get tired of them not working half the time because the batteries need changed.
