If you want to dig some into OC, all OC traffic is unencrypted, so you can use Wireshark to see exactly what is happening.

Actually it doesn’t matter to me; I don’t want to see it in the first place!

If it is only on freeware, then I guess it is OK - in that case I'll just use something else. However all freeware I currently use I have made donation(s) to, so that does burn me up.

Those all worked for me.  However, this setting might need a little explanation.  It only works on series when they are added (and that option is enabled).  That is, it doesn't go back and change up the list after the fact.  Perhaps this is what you're experiencing?

That is entirely possible. I can't remember if it's true - most series were added the first time I used the program, which goes back a little ways. So I guess there's no way to make it happen now other than deleting and re-adding those series?

I happen to have two setups for ImgBurn on my computer, and the size difference is telling:

SetupImgBurn_2.5.0.0.exe       2.06 MB
SetupImgBurn_2.5.7.0.exe       5.83 MB

Sooo, I extracted the contents of both using UniExtract and found the following:

SetupImgBurn_2.5.0.0.exe

Installer for ImgBurn in the main folder, plus two subfolders, for Plugins and Sounds.
Plugins contains DLLs and images pertaining to ImgBurn only.


SetupImgBurn_2.5.7.0.exe

Main folder contains three subfolders: Install directory, Plugins directory, and Temp directory
Install directory contains a folder named Uniblue that has three files: DriverScanner, RegistryBooster, and SpeedUpMyPC.
Plugins directory contains ImgBurn DLLs and images plus Ask toolbar .ini and .bmp files
Temp directory contains ApnIC.dll, ApnStub.exe, and Apn Toolbar Installer.exe - all Ask Toolbar related.

So to me it appears that 2.5.0.0 was the last clean version of ImgBurn. I wouldn’t install any version released later than that.

BTW, 2.5.7.0 had no reference to OC within the installer package.

I have a small collection of fountain pens - ten of 'em. Prices ranged from $23 up to $169. The most expensive is a custom job that resembles - and is made from parts of - a Dolcevita pen: orange and black, and too fat for me to write with! Looks nice though. I knew the custom maker and wasn’t sure what the hell I was doing at the time.   

Best writing pens I own and use regularly: A Waterman Charleston with a Medium nib, and a Waterman Expert II with a Fine nib. I have a few Lamy pens with Extra Fine nibs but only one doesn’t feel "scratchy". Actually I should add that one to my favorites list too. It's a Lamy Al-Star. The two Watermans mentioned above are the tops for me. Both were right around $100, but hey - you only live once.

Just working with the profiles now, and so far all is working fine.

One issue I noticed - not related to Profiles - is that the option of having a leading "The" moved to the end of the series name isn't working in most cases. E.g., of seven series that begin with "The", two worked - meaning "The" was moved to the end of the name - and five kept "The" at the beginning and thus sends those series to near the end of the list.

Thanks for the review!

I use Scrivener (Sparingly so far, but I'm picking up usage as I become more familiar with it), and apparently Scapple can feed it to some degree. I just downloaded and installed the trial so I haven't gotten far into how they interrelate yet.

Currently I try to use OneNote 2010 for idea development, and while it is adequate for this it certainly isn't optimal. Scapple sounds (and looks) to be better for my use.

Local Website Archive by Aignes Software (Developer of Website-Watcher) makes the most accurate captures of all that I have used. Not too good with regard to other aspects of data collection/analysis like others, but the captures are as perfect as you will get.

I haven't found any organizer/outliner program that will always paste web content correctly.  (I have to copy and paste directly most of the time due to proxy issues.)  But even with all its annoyances, RN still works the best for me.  There isn't a perfect program out there.

For those pages that aren't easily captured with RN Pro and other programs, I use the Firefox extension Scrapbook and then "capture" the copy that Scrapbook made. Works very well!

Whatever happened to OpenCandy? Their rep was posting here a lot for a while, really pushing their wrapper and, like 40hz said, redefining the terms "adware" and "spyware". Then it all stopped suddenly. Did they crash and burn? Change their name? Get bought out by Google?

I don’t think it's user error; I'm experiencing the same thing here. I select the S01E01 setting in options and upon refreshing the Weekly View that is how it shows. However the next time I start Epcheck it is back to s01e01. (Or perhaps it's s1e1? Can't remember!)

Otherwise all is well! Looking forward to the next release!

There was at one time an extension called "Fx InfoLister" that did the above. The author decided not to continue the extension back when Mozilla initially put Add-ons Review Team concept in place and they were exceedingly stringent. They wanted him to do a lot more than he felt it was worth since his extension really did nothing but read the extension list and put it into a few different formats for you to save or print. A shame as it was a nice and light but useful add-on.

I don’t! Personally I don’t have the time for either (FB or G+), so while I do have accounts for both I don’t monitor them.

My wife had to tell me about my "wall" filling up with "likes" for Islamic pages all over the damn thing. I went a little ballistic at first - until I discovered that you can't really contact Facebook to complain about such activity. Thought maybe I'd been hacked but it's an email address that was created for Facebook and has never been used for anything else - just logging into Facebook. I can see all activity for that address and there was none at all, except for my Facebook logins of course. Plus I was able to see where - and from what IP address - all logins had been submitted and they were all really me.

Finally I found out that a lot of people suffer the same problem. It seems that there are services that sell "likes". E.g., you have a business and (for some stupid reason!) you want thousands of "likes" for your FB page. You purchase the likes from a service and they immediately generate however many you paid for. I guess they have found a way to associate "likes" with people's accounts without logging in and without any contact with the account holders. Nice, Facebook, really nice.

Anyway I just abandoned the damn account. I don’t visit it, don’t login. I don’t "play" there anymore. Can't be bothered with deleting it. I don’t really care - nothing else of mine is associated with it.

I don’t think the poster at the XDA forum understands exactly what a rootkit is. This program ain't. It's not a nice program IMO, mainly because it does "watermark" your media files, and not just those downloaded from Samsung's service - at least from what I have read. MarkAny touts itself as the No. 1 DRM and watermarking company in the world, so their purpose is very clear. And if they only watermarked files downloaded from the service providing MAAgent.exe then simply don’t use that service.

It's reported that all parts of the program are removed upon normal installation. However if as the poster at XDA claims unrelated media files on your box are left with this "home-calling" watermarking, then it should be considered to be a bad program, and possibly even malware.

It's also worth noting that Martin Aignesberger's flagship program WebSite-Watcher can itself log in to web sites, and can also pass pages to Local Website Archive.  I haven't tried this myself but it's in Help for my 2010 (10.5) Business Edition, and certainly RoboForm treats WSW like a browser.  Maybe similar functionality might be considered for a future iteration of RN, though it rather depends on how much Rael wants to make it a web-capture specialist.

I had WSW for a couple of years and then WSW Pro for a couple more. However it got to the point where I wasn’t using it as much, plus a lot of what I wanted to capture wasn’t working too well. So when Martin changed WSW to subscription-based pricing I decided that it was too much for me to pay for something I wasn’t using that much. Also, for pages where I just wanted to monitor for pricing changes, some other services cropped up that work well and don’t cost me anything to use.

Hi  Jody.

Great program! I just downloaded it tonight and tried it out. What little I entered so far is looking pretty good!   

One issue I encountered: Gotta be real careful when resizing the window. I only had two series in it when I decided to stretch the window a bit. The default when I first opened it was a little too small on a 27" monitor. Anyway after pulling the right bottom corner down about one inch the screen froze. And I don’t mean only the epCheck window - I mean the whole screen! My cursor had changed to the little double arrow that it does when resizing windows, but it stayed like that all over the screen. I couldn't move the cursor over my taskbar - it just wouldn’t go there. Couldn't click on anything at all. The screen was just static. I couldn't clear the screen; ESC did nothing; neither Alt+Tab nor Win+Tab did anything. Just totally locked out. I could move the cursor and nothing else. I decided to try that old standby, Ctrl+Alt+Del, so I could hopefully bring up the task manager, and that finally worked! I restored the task manager and noticed at the same3 time that my cursor had gone back to an arrow. All was fine at that point.

Don’t know if this is related but lately (past two to three months) some programs have become non-responsive and I found that the Desktop Windows Manager (dwm.exe) was also non-responsive whenever this occurred. I don’t know if that was the case this time since I couldn't look at task manager or anywhere else for a time there, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Running Windows 7x64 on a pretty beefy machine.

I agree. I have discovered that I apparently need an audio alarm when the timer is finished counting down. The blinking just doesn’t get my attention most of the time.
