Is this stuff really free? I wanted to download the program but saw a note about an expiry date. Is it a trial version?

@tomos

Check out  http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/ and http://www.mysuperpc.com/ for an extensive info and guides on this topic. You should post your specs at the forum (http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/forums/ and http://forums.mysuperpc.com/). My Super PC Web site looks a bit disorganized but has great tutorials (just all the way scroll down for the links)

Just a quick comment, make sure the PSU power rating is AMD approved, is suitable for the mobo type and fit the case. I can't read German so maybe it's all in the link you've provided.

FreeCommander - Don't recall if it has it, been a while since I tested it (hated the interface, so it was a short test at that).

FreeCommander does not have it.

I think you might be refering to pdfspeedup.
http://www.tnk-bootb...rted&id=7F7290B5 -Adobe Reader SpeedUp

thanks guys, but no, that wasnt what i was thinking of -
& this is one of those very rare cases where I'm sure there was a cleaned up version (for want of a better way of putting it) about a year ago maybe - but it probably just out of date now anyway.
Will probably go for the Adobe install at some stage, thanks!

Check out Adobe Reader Lite at http://www.msfn.org/....php?showtopic=88167. If that's not what you're after, search the MSFN forum, there are a few pdf reader stripped down version circling around.

Hello, sorry for jumping in but I have a related question...Does anyone know what's the maximum visible time for tooltips and how to modify it?

Thanks,

PhilB
Tooltips have a 5 second visibility.
Here's MSDN's all about Tooltips

General Software Discussion / Re: Strange Windows wallpaper trick
« on: March 22, 2007, 09:00 PM »
Hi all, my name is Phil and I am an addi... oops, wrong forum. Cool trick Edvard, but it does not work if I choose to hide desktop icons by right clicking on an empty area on your desktop and unticking 'show desktop icons'. Any idea why?

Thanks,

Phil

BTW, my box runs on xp sp2.

Strangely, this trick works fine if I click on the 'show the desktop' button on the taskbar to hide icons and active windows.
