Post New Requests Here / Re: Show Center of monitor screen
« on: April 20, 2021, 08:04 PM »
The app is not doing its job properly on my 1920x1080: The cross comes up half a centimer off center! -even with no apps open.

Without knowing the full details, my guess is that it has to do with the taskbar always being displayed by default.

I recently encountered a similar issue where an app I use (DisplayFusion) wasn't properly centering windows on my monitor and I found that by setting my taskbar to hide then it would center them properly.
FYI the taskbar is not part of the desktop client area. Normal apps center on desktop, so their centering is correct.
You can write code to get around that issue for people who use a ruler to notice that at all  :P

*Hooray*

Just after posting all this and after days testing etc I was now able to full support UniCode to any direction!
(Updated image in Post #1)

2 small bugs detected

bug #1
run application, enter any text, have the limit set that something is red
change now colors, they will only apply if you change text or limit

bug #2
program is not able to be run within protected folders
run from such application will crash before it has started
please use %appdata% to save configuration

wish:
add password generator please ;)
if able, add dark-theme support

Usage

Installation
Just extract archive and run.

Uninstallation
Just delete my .exe

Known Issues
It is not the easiest part to figure out best settings for your system.
Program is not made to be run from protected folder. (This only affect the speak ability since it write a file.)

How to get early access
Private Message me your Bing App Id and you will receive a personalized version. <- If you having worries about that, message your opinion in here. I can take criticm  (my opinion = it should be a DonationCoder exclusive aslong testphase is not finished)
If you spread the .exe, it is your Bing App Id that might take damage.
Follow those instructions to get a Bing App Id for free.

When is public release planned
When I do feel safe enough to have most bugs terminated.
For now program work if you use it correct.
I am on to make it as stable as possible and auto-correct user made errors. (example, enter text in number fields, or not text at all.

I have added now two audio samples. Both say same text, but only one sound correct :-]

If you like to play with flowcharts, draw.io offers a free online and offline application for that matter with many possible objects to choose from.
draw.io.exe < Windows Offline Version Installer

Flowcharts are not bound to any rules (starting point, middle, end point = all that belong to your own wishes if at all, that way you can visualize more than one idea on a chart),
but yes, software developers use such to have a program flow visible presented. (...to me that step need way too much time...)
The cool thing is that you "can" (but not must) connect each object with another to decide if that way is good or better rethink about it.
For story telling I guess that might be a good alternative method to have everything "logical" tested and that it is comprehensible.

I wont disturb you anymore in here and let you be on your own again.

132
Flowchart < the most basic expression for your matter?

Justice League Snyder Cut - Trailer

Short review:
This movie is good and bad at once.
Why is it good? Because I do like superhero-uber flicks  :P
For real, it has very good CGI effects and a good amount of different characters inside.
Dialogs are sometimes funny but often you see more pictures than talking.
Why is it bad?
The way it is cutted, they way how they integrated everything and the way how the story goes are all very confusing.
If you have seen the older DC movies you will be disappointed because of the above line.
If you have not seen the older DC movies you will often think "wtf is going on here".
For my taste it jump to often in time with its story.

Hardcore fans will love the new extended scenes from the old Justice League and can talk about.
To me as a normal fan, the 4 hours(!) that I needed to watch it was not satisfying.

Google Boomerang / Re: Boomerang still not working
« on: April 16, 2021, 10:33 AM »
The problem will be how my app interact with translation api.
Screenshot - 16_04.png
Those are the settings within my app that control the workflow.
But users will need to make a) Windows Live ID to make b) Bing API AppID. (my app need the Bing)
Further more, users must find out on own hows a good mix of shown options. (shown are my defaults)

...translation api is free for a few calls, not endless fun except you pay (not me! do not misunderstand that point!)

I guess in the end I have more problems to reply "how-to" "dont work" "what now" "why is it slow" etc questions than it is worth publishing.

At least the app works legal, I do not harm any TOS.

BTW I do have more fun listening "text-to-speak" than to actual translate ;-)
Example: English Text with Arabic vocals, so much fun hehehe

I might make a game of that feature "Guess the text" played at random vocals  :P

I do not know yet if I should release my Replica of Boomerang.

Thats how it look so far, begun yesterday to code it.

137
Dayum... i really hoped it would break the chain.
(I try something later, report back when done, my fear is, that the try will end with crackles again...)

Let me know if this will work or if there's a reason this can't be done (or if you just don't want to do it, that's fine, too):

Can you check the system datetime every minute, and only detect audio if the datetime is significantly different from the last time it was checked? My thinking is that if the app checks the time before I put my PC to sleep, then when I wake it up again the next time the app checks the time it will see that several hours have passed.

So, I think something as simple as only detect audio if the clock has changed by 5+ minutes should be sufficient.

To disappoint you in advance, your suggestion is not possible within CLI version.
BUT I did modified again a tiny bit of code and really really really (did i say really already?) really hope that it will fix all above issues without need to close and run app again.

What I have done now is the following:
run application without any switch = it will do the one hour loop task.
each hour it reset itself.
(yes, that we know already...)
if it does not find audio, instead of waiting in worst case another hour, i decreased the waiting time to 30seconds (DO NOT RUN THIS VERSION WITH "VERBOSE", it would spamm console memory aloooooooooot, use verbose only for testing)

What I can not say is for example how my app react within the one hour thread.
Like, start app, put pc to sleep / disconnect Audio device, wake up Pc and attach Audio (all within one hour)
If it break the chain to the thread (and recheck after 30sec again and again) or if it will dumb do its one hour task to then recognize "hey, no more device, lets wait 30sec to retry"...

140
@KodeZwerg: I have good news and bad news. v0.4 appears to successfully recover from sleep now! But it is a bit worse in terms of the moment-to-moment usage. If there's no other audio playing, v0.4 makes the speakers crackle every few minutes when it detects the audio device.

At least I do understand now what happen, thanks for that important information!

The problem is in general how it works.  :'(

I have added again a micro change.
Running with verbose switch = every minute it detect audio.  (for debug purposes to see whats happen)
Running without verbose switch = every hour it detect audio. (for normal usage)
(it will recover, might need one hour to do so in worst case)

This will be the last CLI version since under CLI I do not have that much control.

Planned:
For my newly spawned "KodeZwerg's Realm" I will create GUI version of Tone Generator.
It might have same bug for you but also a "Re-Detetect" button to quick make it run again. (why "might" and not "will", because I am unsure of how I implement everything)
And other features that you do not need at all  8)

141
v0.3 doesn't seem to work for me. It says it's playing my favorite kind of music ( :P ) but the speaker never makes the initial crackle sound that would indicate audio is playing, and the volume mixer doesn't show any indication that any audio is being played. And when other audio does play, it begins with the crackling that this app is meant to help avoid.

v0.2 does work for me configured at 10 Hz at 0.1 volume, but has some issues which I'm not sure you can fix. When I put my computer to sleep and wake it up again in the morning, it doesn't seem to be playing audio anymore. I think this may have something to do with the fact that my PC has to reconnect to the BT speaker, which changes the output audio temporarily. My guess is that your app doesn't handle changes to the audio device and doesn't recover from that. But once I stop it and start it up again, it works like a charm until the next time I put my PC to sleep.
v0.3 was extra made to have no crackle, that was my secret ingredient lol
i guess playing with negative values was not my best idea, sorry for that.

Strange that is with sleep > wake up > somehow broken.

I have now implemented an audio device check every minute.
I can not test it well since I do not have your Hardware.
I added a new commandline parameter.
Please try this:
run >> "kzToneGen.exe verbose"
at least have Pc 3-4 minutes awake with BT to have some "found audio device" text written.
put Pc to sleep / turn BT off. (whatever your normal order is)
wait again at least 3-4 minutes.
wake Pc up / login / check what my app wrote (and still is writing) and check if BT works fine.

if that does not work i run out of ideas for the CLI version for the moment.

waveOutOpen << this is the api i am using to connect audio device and recheck every minute.

if it work, just use it without "verbose" to not spam memory with endless text.

Dear Donators and visitors

if you like to get in touch with me the direct way, please use this link for real-time chat:
My little Discord hideout
or use forums private message system, i do prefer first option since i do not log in daily.

if you are having trouble with my software or like to have an improvement:
please reply inside topic your matters.

my software will not have installers in most cases
it is one of my goals to have things portable all the time
anyway, you will need 7zip (or compatible) to extract

my software should run on windows vista+ machines but tested only on latest windows version

in many cases VirusTotal say it found some malicious code, that are false positives if you downloaded from here.
(sometimes i do use executable packers that antivirus tools can not decipher)

if you like my work, feel free to donate within donationcoder's system

if you plan to show my work on your site, you have my permission aslong you put original link to that software topic clearly visible on your page and name me "KodeZwerg" as author
(a developer need feedback for upgrading applications)

what else to say? enjoy my realm, stay healthy and have a wonderful trip ;-)

143
one more change was made since now i've read for what you need it.

no input/options at all.
no lag at startup.

it open a cli and do its job i hope.

test if it does what your post #1 wanted, 100% inaudible.
I'll start using it and give you more feedback if needed.
a "thanks it work" would be nice to read.

details: secret.

144
It works wonderfully. May I request a change to pass in -1 duration for it to play forever? Or possibly have it play forever until I press some input (such as Q) to stop it? If you don't want to bother with adding input checking, then I'm fine with being able to have it play forever and I can press ctrl-c to interrupt it.

Sure my friend, here you go   :D

I picked your last option because i am lazy (CTRL-C)

Whats changed: EVERYTHING....not, just input parts are modified to new wish, i was not aware of loop.
Program needs now some seconds to generate 1 hour of audio data.

How-To: "kzToneGenerator.exe 100 0,5" <<-- play 100Hz at 50% volume ... endless/until CRTL-C/until CLI closed/until reboot. Whatever happens first.

VirusTotal: untested
Details: unchanged

What i can not fix and being aware of: every hour, if sound is "hearable" it will interrupt for some milliseconds (WinApi does not know "endless")

Me hopes to fulfilled your wish.

145
omfg, i total forgot about this task, i am more than sorry man!!!

trust me, next week you get my sample!!
please excuse, i was very busy, had my mind filled with other things.

have faith  :-*

146
Hi there,
i did not read this full thread, just last post.

I did attached an executable CLI program that might help for that matter.
How it work? Total easy ofc.
Extract file somewhere and call the kzToneGenerator.exe program to test it.
You'll be asked for Hz, Duration and Volume.
When sound output is done, application does self terminate.

Definitions:
Hz = Hertz
Duration = count in milliseconds / 1000 = 1 second
Volume = range from 0 to 1 / 0 = 0% volume, 1 = 100% volume

If tests are good, you can call it with 3 parameters, you guessed right, again Hz, Duration and Volume are needed.
Example: "kzToneGenerator.exe 100 1000 0.5"  <<- would play a 100Hz sound for 1000ms(1sec) at half possible volume output.

Like it, tell me?!

Just a quicky made for you ;)

(you can rename .exe name to whatever you want, program is portable, program is freeware)

Technical details:
Compiler: Delphi  :-*
Channels: 1 (mono)
SamplesPerSec: 44100
BitsPerSample: 32
All done via WinApi  :-* :-* :-*

VirusTotal results:
Screenshot - 10_04.png
I am sorry for two false-positives.

Godzilla vs Kong - Trailer

Since I am a Monstermovie fan, this title is my taste.
I would say 6 from 10 possible stars.
It does more feel like they wanted to earn quick cash instead of producing a cool story.

mini Review:
Spoiler
Kong wakes up isolated, Godzilla attack a town, Soldiers try bring Kong to Godzilla to let them fight, Kong loose, new Challenger approaches, Metal-Godzilla vs Godzilla, Godzilla loose.
Kong and Godzilla team up vs that metal beast. Win. Happy end.

(review is really extreme cutted)
CGI effects are cool made.
Dialogs halfway entertaining.
It is worth to watch.

148
I am not interested in coding such.
Windows offer for such purpose integrated possibilities.
(have 2x Explorer open, drag and drop, done)

149
I think Alt+Shift+S is the shortcut to make a post on donationcoder forums (I mostly only use Alt+Shift+P which previews my post).
I tried disabling the shortcut, but of course that's designed for people who dont want to see the taskbar at all (not me).
I tried explain that matter to him via chat. Lets see what happen ;)
(no critism about product!!)

Ahhh good old memories come up by reading your post.
When I was much younger (from year 1990 around), a friendly competition named "Assembly" was held in Finland.
Created with dozens of other crews different type of things.
Modules (Audio, with sub-group of Format and Channels), Art (Graphic), many kind of size bounded Demos (my category).
I loved it with all same minded people around.
No one stared at you with a "wtf"-face when you talked binary instead of real language  :D
If I should guess, thats why I still think "size matters"  :-[

Anyway,
I really wish you alot of fun, no pain in fingers, lots of endurance and best of enjoyment possible!
