A tagged-note taking plugin sounds exciting! I'd definitely be interested in helping with testing your plugin once it reaches that stage.  Thmbsup

Cant you just use aliases with:
igo http://docs.google.com/?action=newdoc
igo http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?new
igo http://docs.google.com/?action=new_presentation

and to see already created documents:
igo http://docs.google.com/#all

All shortcuts like ctrl+s, ctrl+z work there Wink

Edit: if there was a demand for it I could try to write a plugin using google docs api

If you like offline version you can always use zoho with google gears

Hey czechboy, thanks for the quick reply. Your suggestion of using Google or Zoho, even if offline, are good because they let you keep your files in a central location. Unfortunately, (though I may be wrong) that means I have to keep a browser or gears window open all the time. What I'm looking for is Windows Notepad functionality built-in to a FARR plugin for a quick, low-memory plain-text editor with no bells and whistles (like printing, text formatting, etc). A find and replace function would also be nice, but not necessary.

If this can be done without Google Gears installed, that would be terrific, but I can understand that plugins should appeal to as wide an audience as possible. Maybe my use of text snippets isn't so popular.  cheesy

I'd like to second allen's request for a built-in text editor. I use text files to store idea snippets in a Reference folder, but it's a waste of time having to open up the text editor or Windows Explorer from FARR each time I want to view or edit the files. Some features I'd like to see if someone does decide to make such a plugin are:

- Hotkey compatible (undo, save, ctrl+bksp!!)
- Cancel changes by escaping out of FARR
- Copy/Cut/Paste compatible with Klipkeeper
- Create new files by typing the name of the file with the plugin alias

Thanks in advance!
4  DonationCoder.com Software / Find And Run Robot / Folder Nav Bug on: May 03, 2008, 12:58:50 AM
Hey Mouser,

I was wondering if you could tell me what options allow me to use FARR like I described in the fixed folder navigation bug

I can't seem to find the right combination of options in version 145 (the latest one I downloaded from your site). Thanks for your help.

Hey mouser, congratulations on hitting the public beta milestone! Everything works great and runs fast and efficient. The only thing I was disappointed about was the folder navigation bug I posted before: http://www.donationcoder....ic=6624.msg74060#msg74060

Other than that, I'm really enjoying the plugins feature. It's like Firefox where you get to put together your own toolbox.  Thmbsup

I'm not sure when this folder navigation feature changed, but I used to be able to navigate into subdirectories that were found by pressing the result number. Now when I press the result number, it launches the folder immediately. I liked it when it would put the directory path into the search bar and allow me to dig deeper into files and folders within that folder. Is it still possible to use FARR in this way?

Hi mouser. I got really excited about the new version you put out today, but the original link you sent me to the alpha versions no longer works for some reason. Have you changed the location of the beta file?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to testing out the latest version.

My bookmarks are at this location:
\\documents and settings\USERNAME\application data\mozilla\firefox\PROFILENAME.default\bookmarks.html

I don't seem to have a "Profiles" folder

Awesome! Thanks for working on this new release. Unfortunately, the FarrFox plugin isn't working for me. I'm running Firefox 2 if that has anything to do with the plugin not working. The plugin is detected by FARR and the "Test the Callback Function" button returns "Hello from Plugin!" but typing the alias for the plugin always returns 0 results and isn't affected by the "Stop search on exact alias match" option.

Hey mouser! Thanks for writing this great tool. I can't wait any longer either, so could I have the link to the latest version of FARR?  cheesy
