the French original from 1970: "C'est pour mon papa et moi"

Thanks for this find !  Let's say Michel Jonasz, co-writer, has already been much more inspired...  May I ask how you came to this page ?  Anyway, thanks a lot !

Incredible Photos Captured In The Perfect Moment

I posted this here because if I posted it in "Interesting stuff" it would be too depressing.

Thor # 3 preview ?

Quite impressive !  I am just wondering why she is not using real arrow tips ?

Because accidents can happen? I'm sure it was the show management that insisted. smiley

That was my thought.  You can demonstrate skill while removing risk... and it doesn't reduce the amount of skill required.
True enough but in this kind of TV show, they take some risks, I have seen knifes throwers, people who ingest light bulbs etc.  Anyway, that's not what matters, she is truly remarkable.  Thanks for posting this.

How do you fit a thousand dead babies into one barrel?

I know this is just a joke--I'm not at all offended by it, nor am I complaining that you posted it--but I just didn't find it even remotely humorous, and I tend to find humor in morbid things.
And if one remove 'dead' from 'dead babies' ?  Just thinking out loud... I guess I may have listened too long to M. Manson...

Isn't called the godwin point or something like that (sorry, late here, no time to google...).

Just a reference to 2001, A Space Odyssey space ship ? Or not.

This one cracks me up.  smiley

Isn't that the Walmart-application computer?!?  -- nice  smiley

I just figured she ripped it trying it on.  The old anti-theft spycam in the changing room shot.

Either that or it's a new design for those too lazy to unbutton their pants when using the commode?

Maybe this just shows that Wal-Mart is ripping (off) its customers...
9  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Directory Opus 11 Released! on: December 28, 2014, 03:27:46 PM
I'm a Dopus 10 user. I'm tempted by the latest upgrade offer,  so I've been trying out v. 11.

My first impression is that it is running quite a bit slower (or is a bit more resource hungry), at least concerning the following operation.  In the past, when I'd download a file with Firefox, the downloaded file would show up immediately in the download folder when open in Dopus. With v. 11 however I thought something was wrong because I was looking all over the place in the folder for the latest downloaded file and couldn't find it. It was only after some considerable time that the file eventually showed up.

Has anyone else had that experience?

Yes, for me too, on a slow but recent PC (slow processor), I had to revert to V10 to get something usable.

Syncovery supports several clouds and you may limit the transfer speed, AFAIK.

Anti Twin is very nice and easy to use.
13  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: What books are you reading? on: December 05, 2014, 05:40:34 AM
I am just finished a moving novel, in French, "L'amour et les forĂȘts", "Love and forests", from Eric Reinhard, a story of a woman who suffers a lot from her husband who is beyond selfishness.  To escape her inbearable daily life, she has a one day affair with a stranger met online, she is forced to confess this to her husband and he will make her pay in many cruel ways.  It's a story about love, resignation, rebellion.  Based upon the true story of several women met by the writer blended into one character. Superb but dark.

IMHO Avast Free is excellent.  I however use WebRoot Internet Security; which is light but tends to give a bunch of false positives, though they can be excluded easily.  I had a license through a rebate offer.  I also saw a huge discount recently for BullGuard, supposedly a variant of BitDefender.  I tried that latter one but uninstalled it, sorry can't remember why.

Thanks.  I have read Unicode is on their roadmap for a future version.

Hi all,
I am asking for your help : I am looking for a short Sci-Fi story rather old, where an explorer, suffering from asthma, is captured by an advanced tribe somewhere deep withing a forest or some far away land.  They offer him a cure for asthma, as well as lots of food and nice treatments.  He finally realizes that they are cannibals and intend to eat hime to get his intelligence.  He barely escapes but destroys the device for curing asthma in the process.
It's somewhere in my paper library but since it's a short story, it's rather hard to find and I have not managed to find the right keywords in Google to pinpoint it.
If this rings a bell, that would be great !  Thanks.

Maybe try Altap Salamander too?
I am trialling it currently.  Is there a way to have a multi tabs display ?
18  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: What's your preferred File Manager on: November 10, 2014, 03:17:50 AM
Altap Salamander
Nice software but there seems to be an issue with unicode characters, cyrillic ones for instance.  Strange for a CZ software...

I recently switched to Diropus 10 Pro and I don't regret it.  I used to be fan of XYplorer, and still am, but once you get into the fine tuning of Diropus, it is really great.  V11 is too slow for my Pc though.

That other link appears to have been taken down, but here is a YouTube link.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfDr0g2twB0

And it's in Danish.

Thanks for the fixed link.  And it's funny, I spent 9 months in Denmark but that was 15 years later...  And even when I listen to this tune now, I barely recognize Danish.  No wonder it was so hard to identify it.  BTW, the website pointed by my link seems interesting in case of another mystery tune...

Eureka : it is Ekkoleg by Grethe Agatz,
http://www.watzatsong.com...te%20(Ekkoleg)-63781.html

I heard it by chance in a TV movie broadcasted a few days ago and it was mentioned at the end of the credits.

Thanks to all who helped !

The q
^reminds me of a story I heard once, about an older couple who lived out of town. He had been in the British army and received a pension per post. His health wasn't great, and he wasn't seen much any more around town. The wife used lodge his checks in their joint bank account. One day she unexplainably ordered a large freezer (the story was being told by the local small supermarket owner - his freezer maintenance guy told him about the freezer purchase: small town you know...).
Anyways, to cut a long story short, the husband died about a year later. There happened to be an extended powercut on their road at the time...
The question is : did his widow bought meat during that year...

Can I get ^that^ in poster size for my office?

Poster size is out there I guess.  Biggest I have is what's posted here.  500 x 388.

If you're just joking... then...  Grin smiley

Well, it looks like an ad for cannibalism, isn't it ?
