Hi this is my 2018 participation,

Application NameClicador
Version2.1.0.2
Short Description A simple and fast free auto clicker.
Supported OSes   .net4 Windows (XP/Vista/7,8,10,server 2008, server 2012, etc)
Web Page    http://www.hnsoft.pt/clicador
Download Link   http://www.hnsoft.pt...Clicador_1.0.1.1.zip
System Requirements   Any Windows with .net4 framework installed
Version History    Not implemented
Author   Hugo Nabais

Description
Clicador is basically an auto clicker, that is simple a program that simulates mouse clicking. It's fairly generic and will work alongside any other computer program running at the time and acting as though a physical mouse button is pressed.
There are other free auto clickers, but I had a need for one, and once again I wanted to include some features that I found missing in the other ones.
That's how I created Clicador.
It can be used for many thing, like games, keep alive applications, etc.

Features
· All the features a simple autoclicker should have (Number of clicks, interval, mouse button, position clicking, etc).

Unique Features
· Info bar, a information bar that is displayed on top of all screens.
· Start delay, how many seconds to wait before starting to click.
· Calculates estimated duration of clicking.
· Ability to remotely start and stop, by putting files on c:\clicador.stop or c:\clicador.start (this features needs improvements)

Planned Features
What features are you planning to implement in the future?
I need some feedback on that one, I have no idea if people will use this type of software, and what more could they want.

Screenshots

Usage & Installation
Run it from anywhere, portable!

Using the Application
Self explanatory.

After some time away there is a new version of CSearcher with a new chart feature and some bugs fixed!

New Results Charts feature, allows some insight of largest files and extensions in bytes and quantities:

As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Here it is:
Version 1.5.5.0 (December 8, 2017)
[new] Added two command line options that allow the load of saved search criteria and saved restrictions, from XML files
[fix] Fixed bug where sometimes neither ASCII nor unicode were selected in Content restrictions
[new] New Tool Strip: "Tools", with a new item: Tools-> "Charts", to help analyse results
[new] New option to invert selected results in Edit-> Invert selected results

You have explained perfectly well to me why i am using CSearcher

Best Regards

No problem. Glad to help.
Feel free to make any suggestions or error reports (although development is stopped at this moment, I hope I pick it up soon).

Seems a good program.
Running to try !
I am using Everything. What's the difference ?

Hi,

I don't understand what you mean by "using Everything".
Can you explain?
Sorry Hugo.

Anandcoral is right !

What is the advantage with your program don't using the indexing ?

I suppose is for computer not very powerful. I have an i7 processor and 32 GB RAM.

Nevertheless your program is installed and trying.

Best Regards

I don't know Everything and don't use it, but I have looked it description.

I have already explain this a couple of posts back, programs like Everything, UltraSearch, etc require administration rights on the computer and work only on NTFS partition.
This may work if you are a home user with only one computer and only NTFS partitions.
If you have several computer shares, NAS systems, FAT32 disks, SD  cards, some USB disks you cannot use them and need a program like CSearcher or similar programs, also if you don't have admin rights on the computer (like many office workers) you can't use Everything or similar programs.

N.A.N.Y. 2017 / Re: NANY 2017: Tiny Server Inventory
« on: September 11, 2017, 01:11 PM »
This is a great idea! Nice work

I really would like a software like this in my daily job. (I use a very large a complex excel file)
There is however a couple of things I find essential to start using this.
- Field to store credentials  username, password, domain. Preferably with some credentials templates where you could change the credentials in the template. Maybe encrypt passwords.
- Field to store server location.
- Field to store server functions/usage
- Field to store server responsible
- Search ability

Optionally but important
- Field to store hardware config CPU type, ram type etc

New version with new feature and fixed some bugs!

Command line has improved a lot, still not finished because I plan to add more features (including restrictions and auto exporting results), but now it will allow a complete search set from command line or a ".bat" file.

As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Here it is:
Version 1.5.4.0 (July 5, 2017)
[fix]   While searching inside files (content restriction), case insensitive was not functioning correctly missing some results
[fix]   PayPal address textbox is now read-only
[new]   Command line options that allow the start of an automatic search from command line loading search parameters.

New version with small new features and fixed some bugs!

As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Here it is:
Version 1.5.3.0 (June 6, 2017)
[fix]   Fixed bug when CSearcher was last opened on a removed secondary screen, it didn't display main form (was on an invalid area)
[new]   New function (menu Edit) that allows to remove selected item(s) from results
[new]   New function (menu Help) that allows to open the folder where CSearcher is running from (useful for manual updates)
[fix]   Added protection notification when trying to open several notepad or HexViewer results
[alt]   Small layout tweaks

N.A.N.Y. 2017 / Re: NANY 2017 Release: sPinger
« on: May 18, 2017, 06:50 AM »
Great job skwire.
I really think this is a good idea and has a very good potencial!

First, some bugs I have found:
- bugs opening with a previous big list of ips makes the program not show the mainform for a minute or so. Made me think I could not open the program!
- cancelling takes a long time and sometimes it hangs. I did some testing and I waited over 5 minutes and it stayed stuck cancelling. I had to kill sPinger.

Some ideas I have that are easy to implement:
- New option that allows max bad pings for individual hosts instead of only a global setting
- New option that allows ping sizes for individual hosts instead of only a global setting
- Don't allow adding empty lines, or adding invalid characters.
- Right button click should have options like:
open ip with web broswer port 80
open ip with web broswer port 443
   open ip with ftp
   open ip with telnet
open ip with explorer \\ browse
   traceroute ip
   etc
- More Column like, laste response time, average time, MAC, etc

Ideas (harder) for future improvements:
- Reporting system. Ability to check periods where failures occurred.
- Some kind of alerts. Maybe send emails after X fails.
- Port ping (checking if a port is open)
- Charting (display average response time)

I think that with some work this could be an application many system/network admins would use on a daily base.

I like to use regular expressions in general, and also with CSearcher, but I've always found hard to remember the Regex Syntax.
To fix this I've create a new small form  :D
Now when you select Regex mode and press the add button you have a nice form explaining regular expressions and a built in tester  :)

Also I've also added a requested feature:

And fixed some bugs!

As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Here it is:
Version 1.5.2.0 (May 16, 2017)
[new]   New form when adding regex patterns. It has detailed explanation of Regex patters and a Regex expression tester.
[new]   New option (menu Option) to limit Max depth of subfolder search
[fix]   Fixed bug when always on top was checked, other dialog forms were not always on top and could not be accessed
[fix]   Fixed bug on add patterns form when adding empty patterns
[fix]   Fixed warning display bug sometimes showing while searching

Hi,

I would like to thank all the donations I received.
I will not thank anyone in particular because I am sincerely grateful to everyone. I know that each one donated what he could and what he thought was right!

Yesterday I had a mountain of emotions, from being discouraged to having received one donation so far, to a state of total joy when seeing a generous set of donations that allowed me to reach precisely the goal that I had imagined for this project.
Now I do not have this excuse to be unmotivated :)
One of these weekends I'm going to take my family for a walk and have lunch in a nice place, and I'm going to tell them about CSearcher and that the lunch was a reward, due to the donations people made to value this work. (I hope that my wife, who says I spend to much of my free time on the computer, gives me a break)

I would also like to say that although I did not find the time to do it until now, I will look for other interesting projects here at DonationCoder. And those with whom I identify myself and find useful, I will make a point of donating part of my balance to them, and give back to this comunity.

(sorry about the bug on 1.5.1.0, I should have made a final test)
-hugo nabais (May 08, 2017, 12:52 PM)

I tried the latest update and it does open without the error dialog.  One thing I have run into though is dialogs opening behind the main form.  Since they are modal and covered by the main form the program will not accept input.  Any mouse click generates a "ding" sound.  To close the program without using Task Manager requires mouse hover on the Taskbar Button and hitting the close 'x' on the dialog window.  In this case I tried to add patterns with the Add Button.  The dialog opened behind the main form instead of on top.

In case it makes any difference I am running Windows 8.0 64 bit OS.

About this problem, I did some testing and found that if you are running with the "Always on top" option selected on the view menu all other dialog forms (add, button, etc) are not always on top and therefor open behind main form. I think this is the bug you are experiencing. I will fix it in a new release I'm preparing.

63
(sorry about the bug on 1.5.1.0, I should have made a final test)

Thanks for all the answers. I found them all interesting and I will certainly look for motivation to continue, at least as long as I enjoy doing it and being able to do it.

@mouser
Thanks for your article. I found it very interesting and in particular very accurate and true. I'd like to add that most people (users) have no idea of the complexity and time lost to programming.

As for my outburst, I never found, as I said, that I was going to make money or that it would be what would motivate me. I did not even expect high donations, I think that for a program like these it makes sense to donate low values like 2 or 3$. But I confess I set a goal in my mind when I decided to ask for donations that was that one day I could have enough donations and grab that money and take my family to a good lunch on a weekend. I am talking about reaching a total of 100 euros or so (to make up a little of all the time I lose with this project.) And it seemed to me due to what I had received until now that would be impossible.
Creating expectations is never good.

I will follow the advice to continue and motivate myself with the pleasure I have while programming.

CSearcher 1.5.1.0 had a bug and I fixed it in a new version:

Version 1.5.1.1 (May 8, 2017)
[fix] Fixed bug that displayed error message on startup

Downloads:

CSearcher has had some relative success, I've had thousands of downloads on my site and until today I only received one donation. It was something I expected but it is still a bit of a disencouraging and leaves me with little motivation to continue to evolve into more complex features.
I need to find this motivation (and some free time) to be able to implement these features.

Despite this I made another version  :D

Version 1.5.1.0 (May 8, 2017)
[new]   New option (menu Option) to limit Max number of results
[new]   New option (menu Option) to Keep results on new search
[new]   New option (menu Edit or shortcut key Alt+F) that copies to clipboard the folder of selected results
[fix]   Fixed a couple of bugs in keyboard shortcuts
[fix]   Fixed small layout bugs on main form

hugo nabais,

Great program! Super fast, lots of searching filters! In some cases, I use CSearcher instead of FARR.

One thing would be beneficial: Favorit (search) Folders.
-BigBadPlayer (March 20, 2017, 06:42 AM)

Hi

I'll see if I can insert favorite folders.

But for now you can use the Load/Save criteria, witch I use when I want to load favorite search folders.
I think it can also do the trick for you.

Hi AbteriX,

Thank you for your words and your suggestions.
I will try to comment and discuss them here:

#1:
I will try to think what to implement to cover this topic in the future.

#2:
ESC key is used now to stop the search. So I will not bind it to close program. If I did that people could accidentally press twice in ESC to stop search and it would close CSearcher. You can always use Alt+F4 to close programs so...

#3:
I like this suggestion, setting the maximum subfolder depth and  maximum number of results are useful options.

#4:
Will consider adding more shortcut keys to access those controls
Adding a Copy Path "ONLY" from result is a good idea, will probably implement it for next version.

#5:
About this subject, I prefer the way it is now.

#6:
I may have misunderstood, but this is already implemented. CSearcher stores last 20 inputs on comboboxes! (you have to start a search to add them)

#7:
The way I implemented the search, it allows you to search in very large files and even in binary files such as executables by reading blocks of bytes. Due to this implementation it's hard to allow for Regular Expressions searches.
But the idea of multiple searches like you said: abc|def|xyz seems a very logical idea. I'll implement it!

#8:
Could be something to do on future versions but at this moment I will leave as it is.

#9:
I like this idea, will try to implement it on next version.

Hi tomos,

Thank you for your feedback.

About your suggestions, I will consider the shortcut key on Search Pattern, seems practical.
About the tooltip with fullpath I think it's a great ideia, I had already in my daily usage felt the need for such information.
I'll add them to my to do list and probably will add them in next release.

The problem of your jpg file not being found is probably related to the fact that you were filtering results:

Maybe you had a "space" in one of the filtering fields?!

About the other question of your drive G:\ not being showed is a normal behavior by design.
The browse form will not load added search folders.
I tried to show this by saying:

Maybe in the future I'll do some code to load already added folders in this form.
I opted not to do so now because you could manually add unc paths ex:"\\myothercomputer\share1" and this could not be loaded on the browse form.

I released a new version of CSearcher that improves a lot performance when deleting files:

Version 1.4.2.0

Nice software. On my system I can't reproduce your speeds. Seems that your software needs an initial search before a search for 400.000 files takes about 3 seconds (Windows File Cache + Disk Cache maybe?).

The times I presented are influenced by Windows file caching. It was hard for me to keep rebooting my computer to test for first time usage, but every version and other softwares I compare are influenced in the same way.
If using for first time on a disk, or using on a network share it will be slower, depending on disk speed.
But on fast SSDs I can get very fast times, almost as fast as "first time usage".

There is a feature planed for a future release where I will read the disk allocation table and parse it, making searches even faster on every run.
There are a couple of software's that already do that. But doing that method only is not enough for me because it is limited to NTFS disks and requires administrative privileges.
My plan in the future is to have both methods, and use the best one available.

74
Once again I have good news.
I have completely redesigned the search method/algorithm.  CSearcher is now using 100% Windows low level fast optimized native methods.
This has improved performance on fast disks by a factor of 2X compared to 1.3 versions!
I also improved memory usage. Around 30% less memory usage!
I have tested it and now it can easily search and obtain over 4 million objects (files and folders)!

Comparison between the last versions: (check search time!)
Version 1.2:

Version 1.3:

Version 1.4:

Version 1.4.0.0
[new]   Completely redesigned search method/algorithm. Improved performance on fast disks. 100% Windows low level fast native method
[new]   Improved memory usage. Around 30% less memory usage.
[fix]   Several small optimizations and big fixes
[fix]   Fixed bug when restricting by "Newer than accessed date".
[fix]   Fixed bug when containing search or exclude pattern was one character long
[new]   Now it can perform searches inside long path name folders over 260 characters long
[new]   When a result has a path longer than the system maximum length is selected, an alert is displayed!
[fix]   Fixed rare bug where restriction icons could display icon in wrong tab
[new]   Check online for newer versions, on start or manually

I will wait for your feedback!

75
I see I can copy filepath via:
menu >Edit >etc.

Any chance that could be made more accessible, especially via a shortcut?
Cant speak for others, but it's what I use most once I find a file.

Sure, I have released a new version implementing your request:

Version 1.3.0.2
[fix] Fixed bug when starting a new search if there were objects selected. They are cleared now
[alt] "Delete object(s)" message box information text was clarified.
[new] Edit->Copy Name/full path/MD5 now is able to copy 1 or more selection objects
[new] Edit->Copy Name/full path/MD5 can now be accessed through shortcut keys
