edit: Just after I made this post I got a suggestion from a friend: Use Total Commander
My humble request for a coding snack for this can be ignored.

I recommend just pulling Frederic Meunier's build from here. Lynx only takes about 4mb of disk space.  ;)

Didn't work on my Windows 10 PC (64-bit).

MAYBE this unusual info is important:

I assume Lynx is installed in D:\Program Files\Lynx. If you use another PATH, edit lynx.cfg and change

You both made me remember I know nothing about "Group Policy" in general, and even less than nothing about editing such - so forgive me the quality of this question, please: Does it make sense to be able to edit GROUP policy, when I am the only user?

Am I lucky, so a change of group policy can make it possible for me to avoid those frustrating "You're not allowed to do this, even though you're the only user and it's your own PC" -situations?

WinWarden (from skrommel & Tim Morck) works well on Win 10, but I have never tested it on plural windows screens.

Chameleonfolder looks like Chameleon Startup Manager??

A bull may find it difficult to scroll, with a cloven hoof and such. The manager and the ad hoc launcher are situated in each end of the same page.

But I am pleased that this debate has come up, as I am into replacing supplementing my FileBox eXtender. Thank you for feeding my imagination.

It's been resized to 99% twice to get it to this file size, but that's all.

If you're using IrfanView, you already have an easy way of controlling the file size, when the save dialog box comes up:

some useful but less-known software. share your list!!!

11½ years ago I tried something similar: "Your most used SPECIAL programs" https://www.donation....msg123024#msg123024
-not unknown programs, but different / obscure / special ones.

You might find parts of it interesting:

This thread is not what I expected at all!  I thought I had a good idea of what would be listed here, but I am seeing a lot of surprises!

My Clipdiary clipboard does that quite often, when I copy from a Internet browser.

vhoskin's post made me visit Ashraf's site again, and I was surprised to see just how many fine shareware programs he now has to offer for free (or discounted)!
The list is long: https://sharewareons...iveaway+active-deals
Most licenses are of course like giveawayoftheday: Now, and for 1 year only + No support or updates.

Among others, I clicked Yes to get Ashampoo Burning Studio 2019 [for PC] for free - normal price $50. https://sharewareons...-studio-freebie-sale
It's probably free because Ashampoo now is offering version 20.
I also took a free copy of Wise Registry Cleaner - I have been told it's one of the better ones of the kind.

In general I am impressed with Ashraf's site!   but, Yes, one must open the eyes and look out for the harmless but unwanted extras.

1) It's all over the Internet.
2) It's not yet available in your country

General Software Discussion / Re: Disabled Services in Windows 10
« on: January 10, 2019, 05:22 PM »
I use Blackbird.

Don't want Windows spying on your every move?  Don't feel like spending hours messing with privacy settings that ultimately still result in data collection?  Think your private information belongs to you and no one else?  Or maybe you just want a faster PC and don't like all the new "features" Windows has to offer.

We think so too, so we made Blackbird V6
-Blackbird

https://www.getblackbird.net/
https://www.getblackbird.net/download/
https://www.majorgee...tails/blackbird.html

What Blackbird Does:

  • > Disables Windows Media online DRM
  • > Disables Windows P2P Update sharing
  • > Disables hidden Windows metric startup tasks

  • > Removes GWX and Windows 10 upgrade pop-ups
  • > Removes Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA)
  • > Removes your unique ad-tracking ID token
  • > Removes a bunch of Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 telemetry updates (View full list here)

Dear Curt,

You have donated to the "I don´t care about cookies" project in the past, and I thought you might be interested in a new Firefox/Chrome extension I have been working on lately. It´s finally ready!

For €6.99 a year (promo price), this extension attempts to block, hide or automatically close:

- all kinds of newsletter pop-ups
- chat boxes in the corner
- "install our app" boxes and toolbars
- "allow push notifications" requests
- "allow us to know your location" requests
- all kinds of surveys and opinion pop-ups
- website ratings, "website protected by..." and similar boxes
- toolbars offering website translation

Don´t worry, you can choose and keep what you need, you don´t have to block all of that. If you are interested, please take a look:

https://www.no-thanks-extension.com/

Have a happy and cookie warning free New Year :)

Post New Requests Here / Re: How old is this file?
« on: December 30, 2018, 06:53 AM »
I have certain files in "Last Used..." order. If I want to know more about the various dates, concerning a file, I right-click it and click "FileMenu Tools..." > "Change File Time". Clicking it, does of course not mean I also would have to change anything. But it will tell me some important dates;

Sorry for my misunderstanding!  :-[

AutoHotkey.exe from autohotkey.com/download/ is 3.3 MB, so I (wrongly) concluded that Mikeys-Mega-Script-Pack's AutoHotkey.exe 875 KB was something different from AutoHotkey.exe...
