The BAT is one of the reason that a lot of people are drawn to the browser and one of the features, so I guess it depends on their focus.
I apologize if I seemed unduly harsh on what actually appears to be a meritorious arrangement.

52
The general direction this thread is taking is continued in Annoying Brave browser 'brave rewards' pop-ups.

53
I found Brave Rewards Settings and turned off the pop-up; but now my 'new' home page has a purple nag-tag picture that begs me to turn it back on. Why do companies of great products insist on ripping off or otherwise annoying their loyal patrons? This is getting old fast. I wonder how popular (as in 'un-') the obnoxious Sales staff is with the rest of Brave's crew.

Glad that Deo got it for you... but Patron?  Sales?  Last I checked, the browser was free...
Mm, OK, I paid -and pay- nothing; perhaps what I was attempting to allude to might loosely be termed 'patron of the arts'; and 'sales staff' as in 'promotional dept'? Whoever likes to dream up purple 'nag-tag' pop-ups.

Yes, I used to have the TinEye link once, but that was several computers ago, and I lost track of it. Thank you very much, it's good to have it back.

giving a link to the original would seem like the right thing to do
I'll acknowledge that here, and put the links in my ^spartan angel post.

You can also disable that.

In fact, you can remove everything on the New Tab page:

Make sure you also disable "Show Sponsored Images" or that purple bar will show up when there's a sponsored image to tell you that you could be getting paid to see that image by enabling Rewards.
Yes!!!!!!! Thank you Deozaan!

Which part of that is the clone brush?
The top two pix, #1 & #2, were all that I could find on youtube; both had unwanted writings, but in different places.

To get the initial pictures, in Windows 10, I grabbed my screen shots by pressing [logos + shift + s] in playback mode to hide youtube progress bar. Then I saved the two images in .jpg format for maximum compatibility.

Then, what I did was to transfer clean imagery from the same area in #1 to the same area in #2 which was over-written with the writing.
The result was the lower, third image, with all unwanted writing removed.
There were a few technical details; setting a convenient brush size (about half the height of the lettering in #2); and round or square brush shape; getting close-up magnification to make sure the selected pixel in #1 and #2 were the exact same pixels (I chose the lightest pixel in the angel's eye); then backing off and reducing both images to 50% of normal size to work with, and setting hardness, density, thickness, and opacity all to 100% for one-pass results.
Then you right-click on clean copy in #1 for pick-up, and left-click on the same spot in #2 for lay-down. I 'think' that's what I did; as the vintage kid's game commercial goes; "It's all in the wrist action." :)

You can do wonders with PSP9's 'clone brush';

I'm getting annoying Brave browser 'brave rewards' pop-ups. How can I shut that off? I don't care about their 'rewards', I just want the pop-ups to stop.

62
Control Panel > Search for "change system sounds" and turn it off or do what I did and turn off all system sounds.

Thank you nickodemos!  I shut off all system sounds.

In Windows 10, in the lower right corner of the task bar, is a speaker icon. Whenever I click on it to raise or lower the master sound level, when it closes, it gives a loud chime sound. How do you turn off the closing chime sound?

I still have the free PSPX installer from this offer, if anyone needs it.  Read the whole thread before deciding if the fuss & bother is worth it, though.

Personally, I'd just stick with Jasc's v7, 8, or 9, instead, and avoid any of the Corel versions.
^It -this offer- is a major headache; I read most of the page and would avoid Corel's PSPX installer like the plague. I'm sticking with Jasc's PSP9, and thank you for the precautionary warning.

archive.org  has an ISO for it. But I think it might be corrupted.  :(

What makes you think it is corrupted while 4wd says it works?

The reason I ask is because I used MDF to ISO to convert my PSP8 MDF to an ISO and when I try to mount the ISO it says it is corrupt and can't be mounted. So I decided to bite the bullet and burn the MDF to a CD with ImgBurn and then rip that CD back into an ISO, and I can mount that one without issue.

I'm not sure what I'm using to try to mount it with. It's a context menu that shows up when I right-click an ISO file. It's been there so long I just assume it came with Windows 10. But maybe it comes with ImgBurn or some similar software I have installed.

But anyway, if anyone wants or needs the PSP8 or PSPX installation CDs, I suppose I can provide them.

I used to really like PaintShop Pro back in the day. But I didn't really like PSPX. These days I mostly use Paint.NET for most of my image manipulations.
Thank you, Deozaan.
According to app103, 'Jasc sold the company to Corel 2 months after they released v9, and Corel then released Paintshop Pro X a short time later,'
My installed PSP9 looks almost identical to my former install of PSP7, so it looks like it should be okay.

More About Pangolins 45m
The pangolin is a scaly anteater about the size of a small dog, very cute.
edit: Update - Pangolins are rumored to be a species-jumping bio-reservoir and disease-carrier source of Coronavirus. And by the way, those cute little armored Armadillos in the southern United States are known to be the same kind of disease vector and natural reservoir for Leprosy. You can get it just by handling them or eating their meat.

I have run it on 5 computers with Win10, so Paintshop Pro 7 will work, but there are a few quirks with it...

You could optionally choose to run it in compatibility mode, but that will only fix one issue, and introduce another. I choose not to run it in compatibility mode, as it prevents one from being able to make screenshots of the program UI.

First, you will see an error message that looks something like this, each time you run it. It happens once or twice, as soon as the program launches. Just dismiss them and proceed on to using the app. This has been an issue with PSP7, since WinXP. You might also see one when you try to close it. Same thing...ignore and close the messages. Running it in compatibility mode will get rid of the error messages, but you'll still have to click away a prompt to allow changes to your computer, every time you run it. So, all you'd be doing is trading one type of message to click away, for another.

The 2nd, more annoying quirk relates to the small pop-up windows for tool options, layer palette, overview, etc. Win10 won't show you the rollup buttons that should be on them, but they are still there, invisible. so you have to click next to the close (X) button to lock open or rollup, as shown on this screenshot.

Otherwise, I'd recommend setting automatic rollup in preferences:

The 3rd, most annoying quirk is related to 3rd party filters and plugins. Some of them that used to work well under other versions of Windows, will not work on Win10, and there's nothing you can do about it, since all of them are no longer supported by their developers, and rarely would they ever offer any help to Paintshop Pro users even when they did support them, as they were written for use with old, outdated versions of Photoshop, not Paintshop Pro.

Other than that, it works perfectly fine and is still my favorite image editor.  :-*
Thanks, app103!  Any idea what's a safe place to download it from?

In MPC-BE Media Player Classic, is there any option to mirror-flop left and right sides? Not Windows 10, just within MPC-BE? Or VLC?

4wd: Thank you! That's -really- cool.  Is there any way to do it with videos in either Brave or any other browser?

With the actual Windows 10 OS, I'm just afraid that if I ever managed to do it in Windows 10, the effect might be so disorienting that I might not be able to figure out how to switch it back to normal after watching a video on a particular web browser.

The reason for mirror switching left & right; after one has seen a 'favorite' movie too many times, the subjective 'newness' effect wears off; mirror flipping horizontally (left & right) is just 'disorienting' enough to trick the subconscious into feeling like one is watching the movie for the first time all over again.

I realized this from finding a few old favorites on YouTube, which the posting user horizontally flipped out of some misbegotten notion that it was somehow not infringing; I don't know so much about that, but the feeling of 'newness' to tired old movies was both unshakable and unmistakable.

Edit: If I could open a web browser movie in VLC (speaking of anything but YouTube), using VLC basically as a UI -User Interface- 'front end', then perhaps VLC could horizontally flip right and left during playback.

And Then There Were None (1945) - I consider this to be the best live action version of Agatha Christie's magnificent murder mystery. Endearing and intriguing all-star cast. Digitally colorized.

Two ways that I find such classics are either by looking up in Wikipedia what other films a favorite star has appeared in, or by checking what other films the YouTube user has also posted.

With Wikipedia, I often find in doing so, that I've fallen deeply in favor of the amalgamation of both the big screen charms of the fictional character, and the theatrical gifts of the real-life film star, rather than just the one or the other only.

re: SpeedFan
1) I don't understand what the 'Automatic Fan Speed' option does when selected; does it enable SpeedFan to have variable fan speed control? If not selected, does the laptop run the fans at top speed all the time? IOW, should I want the 'Automatic Fan Speed' option to be checked, or not?

2) All the other readouts vary realistically from about 28C to occasionally 50C to 55C.

3) However, I have one readout, 'Temp 2', which on boot and startup of SpeedFan from Desktop, always immediately shows 127C (261F) temperature, and switches to 38C for one split second about every two to five minutes, then spikes straight up to exactly 127C again.

I think the following SpeedFan home page FAQ page may have the answer, where it says this:
How can I identify my CPU temperature?
As a final note, please remember that not all available temperature sensors are actually connected to something. If you happen to read unusually high or low temps, they are likely to be from a disconnected (unused) temperature sensor.
