26  Special User Sections / Site/Forum Features / Re: (new) icon - make it easier to hit on touch screen device on: July 18, 2014, 08:16:56 AM
The same, or at least comparable, feature would be nice for the 'all unread' list, where the icon is quite small, but I assume it's using the same icon tellme
27  DonationCoder.com Software / Post New Requests Here / Re: Simple Utility to find the value of a specific key in Windows Registry on: July 17, 2014, 04:34:58 AM
@questorfla: What is the actual goal, after you've determined that value from the registry? It's not mentioned up until now, IMHO. huh

I could guess that you're trying to install some update, but selecting the correct update from an ms webpage would be as much risk as sending them a bunch of instructions by e-mail. And why isn't this covered by Windows Updates (or WSUS) ?

How about http://www.google.com/advanced_search ?
30  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Reindexing in the background software for databases on: July 11, 2014, 11:29:23 AM
I download the dbu.exe utility, but goes well under xp 32 bit, but not in w7 64 bits. What am i doing bad ?
16 bit executables can't run on 64 bit Windows, because MS didn't that feature in Win x64.
31  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Reindexing in the background software for databases on: July 09, 2014, 02:00:25 PM
There are, obviously, 2 types of indexing discussed in this thread: database indexes, and application independent textsearch indexes. The OP is imho meant to point at the latter, so for this request, dtsearch could be a viable solution. It supports a whole bunch of file-types, including dbf files, and can be found at http://dtsearch.com (payware, no affiliation, found using a google search)

Have you tried mouser's Easy Screencast Recorder yet?

How about the DC forum (as in: Right here, where you are looking at) ?

They might start twisting my arm once I receive the board, but until now there's no persuasion in any direction other than to start develop anything with it smiley
36  DonationCoder.com Software / Skwire Empire / Re: Release: sWeather (tray-based weather app) on: July 05, 2014, 11:57:05 AM
Hm, tested here on W7/x64 with Aero theme, and it updates the numbers in the tray every time I change in my list of ~6 locations. Can this be related to having just 2 locations in the list ? (the off-by-1 anomaly)
37  Other Software / Developer's Corner / Re: searching the web (in particular, Amazon.com) from c# program on: July 04, 2014, 12:19:04 PM
Isn't that wat mouser designed and made Web Link Captor for?
38  Other Software / Developer's Corner / Re: friend can't run progs made with .net 4.5 on his XP machine on: July 04, 2014, 01:24:58 AM
.Net 2.0, 3.x (avoid using that version btw) and 4.x can happily coexist on a single system. When installing 4.5 on a system where 4.0 already exists, it will be upgraded to 4.5. (Win Vista and later, as said above)
.Net 4.5 is fully backward compatible down to 2.0, except for the new/improved features and, hopefully, for all the bugs in these previous versions cheesy
39  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Reindexing in the background software for databases on: July 02, 2014, 10:59:23 AM
I would like an application to reindex continually in the background even when these databases are in use
2 remarks:
- Properly programmed applications (using .dbf files) don't need that
- Most applications don't allow their active (database) files to be changed, during normal operation
40  DonationCoder.com Software / Skwire Empire / Re: Release: sWeather (tray-based weather app) on: July 02, 2014, 02:41:35 AM
! Fixed missing "na.ico" file in the Fat Cow tray condition theme.
      (Thanks, Brothbeard)

I recall to have seen other themes with missing .ico files in the past (add-on I can't recall where I got them from, presumably this or another sWeather thread) and I just stopped using them embarassed.
Could adding idiot-proof errorhandling to the routine that shows the icons be helpful as being a more generic solution?

42  DonationCoder.com Software / Post New Requests Here / Re: Software that captures every single keystroke and sends it to a specific window. on: June 28, 2014, 06:12:18 AM
That kind of tool is called a keylogger, and it is usually found to be harmful by most antivirus scanners, and undesired by most computer users. undecided
43  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Product Key finder needed on: June 28, 2014, 06:05:46 AM
Or Nir Sofer's MS Productkey viewer: http://www.nirsoft.net/ut...roduct_cd_key_viewer.html but I'm not sure it supports Office 2013.

Tried with IE 10.0.16 (10.0.9200.16899) on Windows 7 x64 (I try to avoid using IE), and have not seen what you report even once. Used with compatibility mode enabled and disabled. It just was copied correctly without any modification for all ~50 times I tried.
46  Main Area and Open Discussion / Non-Windows Software / Re: uninstall seems deletion in Android on: June 15, 2014, 04:17:21 PM
In that case I'd question the quality (or in fact the lack of quality) of the alternative app: If it won't cooperate with one of the standard Android/Google apps, it's not designed or developed correctly, and should not be used. If it makes your phone/tablet unstable or unreliable that app is buggy and should be removed asap!

Please explain 'conflictive version', what conflict or what version?

49  DonationCoder.com Software / Finished Programs / Re: [SOLVED] Ctrl+Alt+Del on: June 10, 2014, 02:32:29 PM
The Ctrl-Alt-Del key combination is caught at a very low level of Windows, and can't be caught without installing a specialized keyboard handler/driver, AFAIK.
Ctrl-Esc is a feature of Explorer.exe (AFAIR), and is also quite hard to intercept. Dunno about any AHK code for that, but I'm no AHK coder embarassed
50  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: WinXP is officially dead! on: June 10, 2014, 12:16:14 PM
From some point of time in the month of July  Java will no longer support XP.

Got any documentation on that? Java 8 already doesn't support XP, I know that, but I haven't seen any annoucement about older versions, other than Java 7 going EOL from July 15th.  (Yeah, I've been watching Oracle quite closely for Java releases)
