The sync is not realy reliable, it sometime just fails.
Importing duplicates all categories.
The gui is not exactly modern :)

Something more modern maybe?

Buying a NAS isn't the answer for everyone. A simple external drive would suit you well, but I would suggest you buy the drive and enclosure separately rather than buy an all-in-one solution. You will get a drive that has a longer warranty (external drives usually only come with a one year warranty) and if choose your enclosure carefully you'll get something with much more ventilation (which means longer drive life!) than a already-built solution.

Yeah, I did exactly that.
Bought this one: http://www.sharkoon.com/html/produkte/externe_gehaeuse/sata_quickport_duo/index_en.html

After copying 800 gigs of files and throwing away the dvds, I lost everything I had copied on a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB drive. Non-recoverable.

Auch, sorry to hear that.

No need for it to be. Try any one of a dozen free open source servers. Won't cost you so much as a forint since they're all free for download. That's the beauty of FOSS. If the first one doesn't do what you want, just download and try out another.

I don't really need access to my data all the time, so think a NAS solution is still too expensive for me.
(And if I want to expand I just buy another 2 drives, with NAS I would have to change the whole thing,
or buy a new one if I hit the limit.)

I considered NAS but it's really expensive (I live in Hungary)
So I bought a Sharkoon Duo Sata and a 2 port esata expresscard for my notebook.
And of course I will keep backup, I have two 1Tb Samsung Ecogreen.
(was cheap, and got some good reviews)

Nuri, tell us what's on all those discs so we can tell you what to use to copy them. If it's all stuff like pictures, music and stuff you've burned on them yourself you won't have any troubles.

If it's store-bought games, music, movies, etc. you're going to need something more than just ImgBurn.

Stuff I burned myself, nearly all of my stuff from my first burner till present year.
I want to throw out the discs and use only harddrive for keeping my stuff.

Hi,

I'm looking for an automatic copie. Which could copy the content of a cd or dvd
to harddrive into a new directoryor make an image, if i insert a new disc into the dvd-rom.
Then eject the disc and wait for a new one.

(I would like to copy my collected disks to my brand new 1Tb harddrive, and I have about 150.
I will go crazy if I need to copy them one by one.)

Image Manager Shootout / Re: AcdSee like program
« on: September 16, 2005, 05:19 PM »
The thing is i read comic/manga with acdsee and i have the chapters in zip files.
It would be a bother to always unzip them and there are literally millions of jpgs.
It's easier to keep them ziped up.

Thnx for the help.

Unfinished Requests / Idea: Date calculator
« on: September 16, 2005, 03:20 PM »
Hi

I need a simple program which can calculate with dates.
For example tell me the days between two dates.
Adding two dates together in different formats, etc.

(2005.01.20 + 6days = 2005. january 26.
2005.05.23 - 6days = 2005. may 17.)

Hope someone could do it.

Unfinished Requests / Idea: Zip as a drive
« on: July 27, 2005, 04:52 PM »
I frequently need to work with lot of small files to transfer them easily i zip them together.
I would like a plugin for total commander or a stand alone program wich treats a zip file as a virtual drive.
