Hey thanks for that info. I wasn't picking on myspace, although it IS a place I will never go to. I had just heard that that place was especially bad when it came to malware and viruses.

Drop. As you weighed the options, it would appear that is the best to do. Thmbsup

What [programming language] do you suggest?

Whatever floats your boat. smiley I like Flash's ActionScript, but that might be a little difficult for a beginner. Of course, I can't really think of anything (considered a 'real' programming language) easier to start with. Flash has graphics, animation, manipulation, basically everything you need for 2D development. Problem is Flash costs $$$ if you don't have it already. There are alternatives, as was mentioned earlier in the post about Game Engines and Apps. I think there are even free Flash authoring tools where you can write all your code and it will export as a .swf file. But then you lose out on the graphics part of it. I'm not sure. I've never not used Flash to make Flash stuff.

Well lucky for me I do have Flash.  cheesy

What programming language are you going for?

What do you suggest?

all this minutia talk is a good example of why, unless you love wallowing in this stuff and spending days and days of time obsessing, you should go to a site like dell and just use one of their configuration things to configure a reasonable pc and be done with it, imho.

I agree with mouser, www.dell.com has some excellent PC customising features, and you can clearly see all at once the overall cost.

Ahh I had forgotten about that. Yes I really want one of those. I also like the shirt that says "There are 10 types of people in this world; those who understand binary and those who don't.

I have never had any issues with the standard XP Firewall. You could try it out.  Thmbsup

But with that in mind, maybe you can ruin the warnings that always seem to popup after the english in french... I mean why french? I'll bet if you can get enough practice you can actually rewind it to the point just after the FBI warnings and being at the actual feature... I am going to try this!!!

Oh. I see. So the idea is to get the ones you want top rated by the small replies:
I agree.
Bump.
Yes.

And so on...

After reading the whole post, I still don't know what digg is... did I miss it or am I just naive?
119  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Blog Article - Social Networking: Time For A Silver Bullet on: October 04, 2006, 03:00:42 PM
A agree, it's a place I would never visit. I was just curious if there was any proof that I could show to persuede some people to stay away from it. I have been troubleshooting their computer problems for 2+ years, and it all leads back to my lack of knowledge of myspace, which is used in their home.

What about one where you get "exp" by the number of posts you make, this way "awards" are granted by the amount of interaction you have here on the site... Wink

nudone, have you ever scratched it while rewinding? That was my problem... I am glad they have come up with something that helps that.
123  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Flash Game: Curveball on: October 04, 2006, 02:34:57 PM
It seems that all the links I had to this game have expired... 404 error...
I guess I was looking for one that was actually still linked to a working game.
124  Other Software / Developer's Corner / Re: Game Engines and Apps on: October 04, 2006, 02:14:48 PM
Great links. I am adding this link to tie another topic together.

Maybe we can help by adding some links to some Game programming books for people who want to learn how?
