1  Other Software / Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Actual Window Menu - 24 hour Giveaway. on: April 17, 2013, 09:54:13 PM
You can update to the latest version by downloading from official website and just running the setup (make sure you reg with the "glary" details beforehand)

well,
I dont understand your post, so I'll ask a few questions smiley

1) do you mean I can somehow register with Glary pre-install - then just install the most recent version from site (?)
2) do I have to register with 'Glary' in order to use the software ? (I've donwloaded already but not installed)
3) or are you talking about getting the details from the registry ?!?

Let me address your questions as simply as possible:

1) No
2) No
3) No

The software is a giveaway, and usually its a full version (non-crippled) bundled with a text file containing registration name and code for the giveaway. Once you install the software, you need to use the registration name and code (in this case, the registration name is "glary" and the code is also in the text file) which is bundled.

Once you've registered the software with the provided reg/registration info, then you can update it by downloading the latest version from the official website and just installing it. It will retain the registration info. (If you try to update within the software itself it will fail for some reason - so just grab the latest version from the official site)

smiley

Just a heads up: The giveaway is not the latest version (which is 7.5.1) but 7.4.3.

No, you do not get to update for free tongue So you should disable automatic update checking if you decide to use/keep this giveaway deal.

You can update to the latest version by downloading from official website and just running the setup (make sure you reg with the "glary" details beforehand)

Very nice! Thank you pilgrim  smiley Installing now... I used to use DM2 (portable version) but it's quite dated, and I'm quite impressed by another software product from Actual (Actual Multiple Monitors), so this will probably be a very useful app.

Thanks again!

+1 for The 5 point. Most places don't allow photo/video'ing (shopping venues, libraries, etc. etc.). If Google Glasses can take video or photos, does that make them exempt from such places? Ofcourse not. BAN! Or maybe some smart company will introduce a product or service that can block the video/recording capabilites.

7  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Gamers deemed too fast for real-life race on: February 17, 2013, 03:22:06 PM
Yeap, interesting, but cmon.. nothings beats real life experience.. don't be silly kids, gaming != real life, not yet atleast? In gaming there is no risk of death for you or others or injury etc. (real life death, not virtual death). Just sayin'  Cry

Just because you're a good gamer, or pretty damn good in your game, doesn't mean you will be good in real life in the same situations. You need to condition yourself to the environment and train.. takes years (for some months).

On second thoughts seems some keywords are excluded? (free porn, mobile porn, etc. work at home, make money online, etc. etc. just to name a tiny fraction of them..)  Sad

I tried to use Opera in the past (desktop) but couldn't stick with it, it annoyed me actually.. Fair well, Opera! Can't say the same for Chromium.. it's blazing fast, minimal, actually works, etc. Although I'm not too keen on the big brother aspect of things (if there were to be!)?

Umm.. so what is the question? If you take risks you need to be able to handle possible consequences. If you don't take risks, well then nothing to worry about, is there?

It will be funny if something big does happen.   embarassed

Maybe it's not the end of the world at a  destruction level or disruption level, but maybe an end to an era and perhaps the beginning of new consciousness or awareness... what ever that means?!

2012 was the year for many great discoveries and advancements or accomplishments (like these).

Btw, some planets or motherships could trasnport thru black holes or etc. and void all your mathematics..

What I mean to say is that, your looking at it from a mathematical point of view, a view where rules are followed regarding speeds, distances, and all that.

What about things we don't fully or partially understand or percieve? Blackholes, time travel, teleportation, undiscovered technologies or laws or workings of the universes, etc.

The Myth of the ‘Post-PC Era’: Why tablets and smartphones will never replace the PC  Thmbsup

What are your guys&gals take on Smartphones and tablets replacing PCs? I agree with the linked article above, that PC/Laptops will remain superior for "high-end" jobs such as graphics design, 3d modeling, software development, coding, "proper" gaming, etc. The average PC user (facebookr, chatting/iming, etc.) will not have a need for such "high-end" things and will be happy with smaller devices, more limited devices.  Grin

Ok sure, some devices you can root/jailbreak and you have more control, but still, can't beat a rig/computer with full decent size screen, horse power, nice keyboard for blazing input, mouse for design, gaming, etc.

Are smart phones, outsmarting PCs?
