To see an overview  on Web Page Change Detection Services see http://staff.philau..../keepup/detectit.htm.

While I PC based programs may work well, I like the Web based services. They can check sites every day and email the results. Hence the results can be received any where through webmail and your PC does not need to be going. I personally like Watch That Page http://www.watchthatpage.com. It is a free service for normal use and is very good, but does not have all the features of some of the others.

My ideal would be to a have my own server based program, (written in PHP) andrunning on my own server. It could have the features of the PC programs and I would have full control of the program.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Function keys

I would accept a-c for F10 to F12 but I prefer 0,1 & 2; it seems more logical.

Thanks

Find And Run Robot / Function keys
« on: September 23, 2005, 12:09 AM »
Hi

I use the F keys to launch and not the digit keys. As the keyboard has 12 Function keys, why not allow all 12 F keys to work. If the use of digits is turned off, then the targets could be numbered 1 to 9 then 0,1, & 2.

This gives 3 more hot keys.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Options do not display correctly

This is also the case for the "edit grup alias". One can not see the last line of the window; 4/5 of the text is cut off.

Hi

The options still do not display correctly when using large fonts (120 dpi).

Find And Run Robot / Re: Feature request v 2- favorite searching
« on: September 05, 2005, 08:13 PM »
I use another program (Quick Favorites Search http://www.chris.id.au/qfs/default.htm) to search both the title and the url. It reads all files every time, not cached, and on a P4 2.2GHz it takes 5 seconds for 3400 favorites.

While this is a considerable time, this is still very useful. If a cache can speed it up, so much the better, but I would use it even it took 5 seconds.

Find And Run Robot / Feature request v 2- favorite searching
« on: September 05, 2005, 04:54 AM »
This was mentioned in  an earlier wish list, but I am not sure if it is to be included  in v2.

I would like to use FRR to search my Internet Explorer favorites, with the choice of searching
1. the title,
2. the URL and
3. both the title and the URL.

I would imagine that option 2 & 3, reading the URL within the favorites, would be the slowest

I would use the third method most.

Will this be possible in version 2?

Find And Run Robot / Display problem with large fonts
« on: September 01, 2005, 06:24 PM »
Hi

I have my display set to large fonts (120 dpi). In the option screen some of the lines are cut short. This does make it difficult to read.

I would love this

Find And Run Robot / Re: Feature Request v2 - hotkeys

This would be good for different search requests

Chris

If this was simple as using + - and " " for phrases I think it would be useful

I think multiple configurations and multiple hot keys would be good.

Example one configuration for search programs, another to search bookmarks/favorites and a third to search files/documents

Find And Run Robot / Problem turning off auto start
« on: July 04, 2005, 01:57 AM »
Hi

I want to turn of "start with Windows". I do this from the options menu, but it always turn itself on!

How does one turn it off?

What is the line in the ini file?

Thanks

Find And Run Robot / Re: Feature Request Thread

Another feature!

I like the idea of launching a favourite using this program. I would like the option of also searching the actual URL for the text. There could be 2 options in the search folder, one names and the second(which would be slower) the URL. Hence the slower option can be put down on the list.

There are 2 program that do have the capability of searching both name and/or URL, but neither show the results on the fly. There are DzSoft Favorites Search at http://www.dzsoft.com/ and the second is Quick Favorites Search at http://chris.id.au/
