Education in politics and environmental education are very popular on social networks.
Maybe you can find some fun facts about these topics. This way it gets shared more often.

Oh great, thank you! I totally missed both.

Great idea!
I'm sure this makes learning a lot more fun.

Thank you!

A couple possible examples might be "how to make your own spice rack with baby food jars," or "quick and easy microwave brownies" (or other dessert).

Thank you for the idea, I will research into the recipes area too!

Living Room / Ideas for "Knowledge Snacks" Marathon
« on: September 12, 2020, 11:43 AM »
Hello, Everybody!

A while ago I started a Reddit community dedicated to educational GIFs that implement the idea of microlearning or "knowledge snacks" - bite-sized pieces of educational conent that is easy to digest, post and share everywhere. However, did not have time to properly promote it at the moment.

Now I have an idea of "99 knowledge nuggets" marathon, during which I will create 99 educational GIFs on my own to provide some initial content for the community.

I am researching ideas, but the area is too vague... So I decided to ask for your help to identify 99 educational micro-content ideas that are interesting to a common curious person and could be fit in up to 5 slides. I think it should cover different areas of knowledge - not only math/physics, but also history, art, music and popular culture. I'd greatly appreciate your ideas! Thank you in advance.

The link in the most recent post doesn't work - but the BDJ link in the first message of the thread does.  You may want to fix that.

Thank you! Fixed.

Hello!

Disclaimer: I am the author of GIF Explainer (and a number of other tools).

GIF Explainer is a tool that makes it easy to create slide-based GIFs for create educational "snacks" for your students that they can digest easily and share with others. Creating bite-sized pieces of educational content is called microlearning and is good for developing hard skills. You can plug microlearning not only into teaching students but also use it for customer onboarding and employee playbooks.

Along with Neobook, here is the closet to what I want, only app in the world that I have found that can create a gui quickly without knowing any programming language

PowerBasic is a pretty simple programming language and it has drag-and-drop form designer. Well, not exaclty what you are looking for, but you can do more with a little programming than without programming at all.

I'd never heard of that.  I'd like to take you up on it if you're interested!

Great! :) Can I send you your key via PM?

Out of curiosity can you give details on the "free endless trial?"  My guess would be the version downloaded works without support or upgrades?  But I don't see it spelled out anywhere.

It says about it's limitations on first launch :) "Endless trial" does not allow to save projects. All other functions are not limited, and there is no time limit or nag screens.

My "Make Batch Files" tool acts like a GUI wrapper for CLI, including complicated commands. I can give you a free key in exchange for a review, if you are interested.

Hello, everybody!

I'd like to introduce you to my new project called "Make Batch Files". It's in alpha version now, but has enough functions to play with.

The main ideas are pretty simple:
  • No need to remember batch file command names
  • No need to remember numerous switches, their meanings and how they work together
  • "Tasks" instead of commands

Say, you need to upload a file via FTP from a batch file and this is the first or second time you do this trick. First, you need to find out what command to call to use ftp, then you need to learn how to use it in batch files, investigate it's script file format and etc. What a waste of time  :) With my tool you only need to add "Upload a file via FTP" task to your project, specify host, username, password and file path using comfortable GUI dialog and that's it. The tool will create several lines of code including ftp script for you in a single mouse click.

Hope you got the idea  :) ANY feedback is welcome (even largely negative)!
