Good Day!
I use ScrSh.Captor for quite a long time and never had problems. Till now: Several times I add text to a screenprint. Ok. When I look back after some minutes at the saved(!) screenprint, the text has been changed in only-some-unreadable-characters'.
It is only in Screenshot Captor, not in Firefox, Word etc.
Hope anyone can help me.
See the attachment pls.
Thx, PitrPaulus.

Hello tinjaw,
OK and Thanks for your help!  I had Irfanview on my Laptop but because I use ACDSee very often I deleted it a few months ago. I shall download it again and then will try the suggestions you gave me.

Living Room / Trying to make Speech Bubbls....
« on: November 14, 2006, 04:04 AM »
Now I'm trying to make speech-balloons myself (with greetings etc.), following the guidelines on the MazeguySmilieswebsite.
At the end is written 'Step 5: Save the cropped image as a Transparent GIF, with the green background as the transparent color.
Whatever I do, I cannot get rid of the background color. OK, I can make it white, but when I put the Smiley on a coloured background you can See the white square behind the Smiley.

How do you 'save as Transparent GIF' ? I only have the option for .GIF or>JPG etc.

I've tried to change it in Screenshot-Captor (and also ACDSee) but still the background color remains white.

I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance; PitrPaulus

Living Room / Proxy server problems
« on: November 12, 2006, 02:05 PM »
Hello,
Since 2 days I receive very often in my Firefox 2 browser 'the Proxy server refuses connection'.
I have XP-SP2 with all necess. updates and so on. If I try sometimes with the 'refresh'button than I get sometimes the connection.
This is not on ALL programs and by the moment of the day that changes. Sometimes this website and later on not, but than on another one....

Does anybody know if this is a problem in MY computer or is this 'somewhere' else, at the (Tele2) provider or ..? ?

Where can I check my 'Proxy Server things...?'
Thanks in advance.

ProcessTamer / New User Process Tamer / some questions
« on: November 12, 2006, 01:56 PM »
Hello Mouser, A few days ago I read in the D.C.-newsletter something about Process Tamer. Till that time I had only heard of 'CPU'-usage, not more. I installed and configured now my most important and more unimportant programs. Everything works fine.
This is a good way of getting more knowledge what you're PC is really doing.

Am I right that with Process Tamer you can have priority with programs over other programs?

A question: my AVG-virus scan and also Spyware-Doctor scan I set 'Low', so that Firefox and (Incredi)Mail should run faster. The above mentioned scans have less priority so I think they go any slower (I would expect that). Is that right? (The scaningtimeis

Is 'REALTIME'  the fastest possiblity for a program or do I have to set it 'HIGH'?
Is it preferable to set no-too-much programs in 'High'?

Thanks so far. I still use your Screenshot Captor very often. Also a nice program!
Greetings from PitrPaulus.

I like those animated gifs very much, too. Thanks for the information. Normally when you search the Internet for animated gif you don't find such nice ones. Great. Pitr Paulus. ;D

OK, Mouser, Thx for this explanation. I was thinking then that I've done something wrong.. or that I'm getting older and forgetting things ... and so on.
I'm happy again and yesterday I used the Screenshot Captor again to show some screenprints to a collegue, to explain more about the very usefull program 'RoboForm'. (for auto-comleting Passwords and so on).
With all the arrows and textboxes n Screenshot Captor it is a pleasure to explain such things to other people!
(Sometimes my screenprints look like 'Patchwork', but I LIKE IT!!!)  :D

Thx again and have a nice day. Greetings from rainy  Holland. Pitr Paulus.

 :) Hello Mouser,

Thanks for your reaction. Luckily yesterday late at night I saw under 'File' the option 'change screenshot directory'.
That was the problem. I changed this to 'My Documents' and now I can see .... clearly now.

Thanks, greetings and all the best from Pitr Paulus from Holland. :D

Living Room / Microsoft.msxml2, public KeyToken....
« on: August 29, 2006, 05:21 PM »
Hello,
I'm trying to (re)install 'the Print Shop 20' (= Ok for Windows XP!). (. I had it on my Laptop for a few years but due to a program-hangup, I had to delete and re-install the program. Everything went fine but totally at the end, when registration has been done and shortcuts are on the screen, I get the message (see screenshot) 'Microsoft.msxml2, PublicKeyToken.... bla-bla...
And the whole installation is rolled-back. And I cannot get this program again on my LapTop with Windows XP SP2.

At the end: an unrecoverable error (see screenprint) with the shortcut.

I think there must be something missing but .... what now ...?

Oh boy, I'm afraid, this is gonna be a long story. Yagh!!

Hope anyone can help me.  Greetings, PitrPaulus.

Hello thunder7 ,  :)
Good to hear it from you also. You know, I had (also) shut-down problems with my Laptop, (Windows XP SP2). And I do regularly scans and defrags and so on.  And even THIS problem is solved after I had scanned and cleaned the system with ERASER. Wauw. Very Good.
Greetings, PitrPaulus!

;D Whoehaa! That's good stuff, ERASER! Yesterday this program run through my system (it took 4-1/2 hrs....) and the computer is totally cleaned up. Without hangups!
Thanks for your help, Mouser.

And then, f0dder, I started lookng for 'Nuts & Bolts'. I searched the internet via Google and all I get is .... nuts and ... a lot of bolts.... but never something like a computer program....
Can you pls. advise me where I can find those 'Nuts & Bolts'? (see attachment...).

And 'PerfectDisk', where can I find that one?

 Thanks for all suggestions. I first start with ERASER.
I just downloaded ERASER and read all the instructions. But before I just push the YES button I´m a bit worried if I will not delete TOO MUCH. I will just free space AND ALSO ´overwrite´ (or something like that) already deleted files.
Now I get a screen (see screenshot) and I get a bit nervous: can you have a look that I can certainly hit the YES-button?
I made the screenprint with the .... Screenshot Captor! (Perfect).
Greetings and thanks so far, Pitr Paulus.  :)

Living Room / Necrofile or other... ?
« on: August 14, 2006, 07:53 AM »
GoodDay!
I use necrofile (http://www.necrocosm.com/download.html) to free space on my hard-disc. What's Necrofile: "Well, NecroFile takes the partitions you select from a list and it overwrites the clusters with mock data. This will push all deleted programs off of the hard disk and into oblivion where it belongs. It does *not* damage any data that exists on the drive, and this is guaranteed."
This really works simple and I never had any problems of deleting too much or the wrong files.
BUT... everytime I use the program I have some hang-ups, altough I first do the recommended scan-disc and then the defagmentation. (So it takes a lot of time and energy to use this program.)

Does anybody know if there's a similar program that does the same thing?

(I must be a easy as Necrofile(!): just cleaning the free space on your hard disc automatically, just by selecting the right disc-letter (clean C+D+E >> ready)).

Greetings, PitrPaulus

:D Hello Joto and Mouser, when I started the computer after my weekend-break (few days Rotterdam/Holland, city of all places) the NICE icon was already back .. so Mouser: you were right! Thanks. And thanks also to Joto for thinking about. As you suggested, I have Screenshot Captor now starting-up and thus deleted the icon. (I also learned that here 'how to make programs start-up'!).
Thanks, greetings and all the best for now.

:-\ Help! I just used the Screenshot Captor and maybe it is a strange question but on my desktop is a STRANGE icon of Screenshot Captor. I've been looking for the standard one (the blue screen) and in the previous version it was still there.
Now that I downloaded the latest version ... it 's gone.
See my attached screenshot..... with SCREENSHOT CAPTOR.
Can you help me pls?
( I have been looking in the Program Files but I cannot find this one). :(

Pitr Paulus speaking: ;D
Waauw! That sounds really good, JoTo and Mouser (nice name ;)). Thanks for al explanations and so on. It's good to be with 'this family'.! I really mean it.
I'm just a beginner in the computer -'business'. Mostly I use Print Shop Deluxe 20 from Broderbund to make all kinds of  greeting-cards, invitations, banners, little posters, personal cards etc. Together with ACDSee 8.0 and (a little bit) Photoshop it can bring me hours of pleasure (sometimes till 1 am. in the morning...!!
I also use IncrediMail: I like it making e-mails a bit more funny en more pretty to see and to read.
Over the last years I've collected thousands of GIF-animations so for every occasion I can get/give/sent the right animation/emoticon.

I shall think about the donation-credits! Nice system. Wait ... and see.

Both the programsI have from Donation Coder I like very Much:
Screen Shot Captor is perfect! For example: I made a small handout with those screenshot-machine for my wife for using some computer programs. ( Shortly I download 'RoboForm' (this program can fill in all internet-forms
with userID and password - Handy) and to make clear how that works for her I make that hand-out!

Also the Where-is-my-mouse tool is really perfect. With tape on my computer I wrote down: CTRL-M (also for my wife to remember. Just when I 'work' with my laptop in the garden and the sunlight is very clear, is sometimes very hard to locate the mouse! So this tool is perfect!!

Well, next week I shall exame the website from Donation Coder, just to see what's where and how it all works. If I have questions about it will let you know.

B.t.w. Maybe it is better that I stop with REPLYING over here and .... Start a new item? Or how does that works.

All the best and C.U.  :)     Pitr Paulus (himself).

 Hello, Here Pitr Paulus Again in the 'air'!
Thanks for the 1/very quick answer to my question and 2/very clear and workable answer! I exactly did what you said (holding that mousebutton pressed down!!!!) all the time :) and now The MouseTool starts up perfect!
And: I shall remember this for other start-uppers!
Thanks a lot and bye bye from PitrPaulus from Holland.

b.t.w. If I have questions about some (different) problems I sometimes have with my computer is it possible that I can post them here or is this forum only for its own programs (Donation Coder) related?

b.t.w 2: Where does that name 'Donation Coder' comes from?

All the best! PitrPaulus
