About the Badges:
Maybe you could place them in the Awards section and display it in the user information on the left of the post, like the programming school badges, like what Ruffnekk suggested.

I found a program, by Waseo, called TextArranger. It seems like it may do what you want. I tried once, and it is pretty good, for free.

Also, much smaller that MS Word to use

I tried it before, and it is well done. The presentation editor is excellent and is able to insert Powerpoint files. It does have a few minor bugs, but overall it is excellent. Helps with displaying Powerpoint presentations on computers, without Powerpoint.

I recently tried out Scribus, and it was fine for most purposes. The program does take some time to load if you have a lot of fonts installed, though. Overall, it is good to perfect. For the more advanced items, I use Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org).
