Dakota.jpg

130 Lbs. of pure bred European Shepherd.  Meet "Dakota".  The owners left the veterinary clinic with a $600+ bill, and did not have enough room for him, so kept him in a bedroom most of the time.  I explained to the owners the error of their ways and "rescued" him.

The veterinarian is a friend and our kids go to school together, and she knows Sheena's History, so she told us about Dakota.

He also understands Basic German Commands:

  •     Achtung! (Ahk-toong’): Watch! Attention!
  •    Aus! (Ows): Out! Drop It! Let Go!
  •    Bleib! (Blibe): Stay!
  •    Bringen! : Bring! Fetch!
  •    Fass! (Fahs):Attack! Take hold!
  •    Fuss! (Foos): Heel!
  •    Gib Laut! : Bark! Speak!
  •    Hier! : Here! Come!
  •    Hopp! : Up! Jump!
  •    Nein! (Nine):No!
  •    Pass auf! (Pahs owf): Pay attention! Heads Up!
  •    Pfui! (Foo-ey): Shame! Stop That! Drop That!
  •    Platz! (Plots): Down! (Place)
  •    Setz! , Setzen! (Zetze’n): Sit!
  •    Such! (Zook): Search!
  •    Voran! (For-ahn): Go forward! Take the lead!
  •    Voraus! (For-ows): Go forward! Run out!

I set Gmail to check all my other accounts.  The filtering that Gmail provides is quite good.  Then just set Outlook to check your Gmail, and you are set.

I have had the best luck with http://private.abacus24-7.com

I have a Canon MX860 and the ink is extremely affordable.  The cartridges have always worked, and they have a chip in them.  Abacus has been around a very long time. The couple of times I called due to shipping issues (storm delays) they are polite and laugh with you on the line.  Good folks. They provide telephone support and you talk to a person.

http://private.abacu...ty.aspx?compat=22631 (My ink)

You can see that they are inexpensive.  My printer is AMAZING and does everything.  Has a dialing pad for faxes, all that good stuff.

I cannot recommend the printer or Abacus enough.

I bought my wife the Kindle 3G, and it browses the web just fine, albeit in black and white.  She does Facebook, Gmail. and so forth on it.   She is the type who despises computers and electronics, yet she loves this thing.

This is extremely convenient!  NICE!  Thanks so much.

@housetier: I saw those on The Huffington Post's web site too.  Really nice photos there, check them out:  Huffington Post-Supermoon Images

Here is one I took(not the greatest, but I like it):

General Software Discussion / Re: What the hell is OpenCandy?
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:59 AM »
Plain and simple, OpenCandy doesn't bother me. I think it is a good medium between being invasive and generating revenue for software developers.  I honestly send no identifiable information then recommends a software, nothing is downloaded, installed, no changes made to your system unless you choose to install it.

MSE detects it and pops up this dialog meant to scare people who have no idea what they are looking at, yet Bing is a partner with OpenCandy and is one of the things offered.  I hate adware, I despise software that installs on my system with other software, but this is not like that at all.

If I had a choice, it would not be there, but since developers need revenue, this is the way to go.  IMHO.

General Software Discussion / Re: Most Pirated Software?
« on: February 24, 2011, 05:03 AM »
I cannot see why anyone would use pirated antivirus software.  If they can hack it to let people steal it, what else have they done to it? Just pay for what you own, sheesh.

I just want the extension icons back at the bottom, in the status bar or above it.  I hate the extensions being right next to the URL bar.

General Software Discussion / Re: Axialis License Key Frustrations
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:03 AM »
(and we should consider that maybe one of the reasons that the giveaway of copies might have been a bit confusing is just because giving away copies is a bit unusual, compared to mailing out a customer their info once they purchase it.)

My point exactly.  They were very helpful once they learned of the issue.  Thanks Axialis and DonationCoder!

I got the same email as well. I wonder if they just were not prepared?  English doesn't seem to be the first language there so maybe a bit of miscommunication? Let's see how long it takes to get the link.

Odd.  Why on Earth would it do that?

DC Gamer Club / Re: RIFT - MMORPG Beta Invite
« on: January 26, 2011, 05:05 AM »
I tried the beta and absolutely hated it.  Repetitive and boring.  My 10 year old like it due to the ease of play, but there was no sense of accomplishment or challenge whatsoever, for me at least.

If I could program like you folks I would go with a multiplayer over the Internet 'Worms' type game.  The ones that are out there now are just not that great.  I would even be willing to pony up bandwidth for a central server for an in game server browser.

Found it on Facebook.  The person who created the MAC version of Trillian posted it first.  Credit where credit is due.

I use the numbered key WinKey+ Numberpad 1-0 which gives me the last 10 pastes easily accessible. It's in the options and darned convenient.

Has anyone mentioned 'Ditto'?

Completely free and feature filled.  Been using it for YEARS.

I have been with Dreamhost for YEARS and have had no issues except for the occasional Jabber server reset.  Never been happier and I host 12 domains with them.

I recieved three emails.  One from Gawker/Lifehacker itself.  One from someone called "Hint", and this morning an email with bad grammar and poor spelling that imitated the email from Gawker/Lifehacker.  Luckily I never use the same password twice, and the email I usually register uses a different password.

I wonder, I am interested in downloading the torrent to see what they have on me in there, but don't want folks to think badly of me or think I am a malicious hacker.  What are the moralities in this instance? Opinions?

Also, you can go here: http://www.slate.com/id/2277768/ enter your username or email address and see if yours was among the information compromised.
