Enhancement request:

Once user gets all the urls into your program, please allow for the ability to save the list.  Say, to .txt file.  Better still, .html file.

And, at very least, allow copy.  That way user can copy and paste to their own .txt file.

An additional point is, in what form are the URLs.

In the example above, the six URLs are in a list.  A text list.  Text file.

What, though, if user has Windows desktop links, six little icons, shortcuts?, sitting on desktop.  Or in a folder.

In such case, how is the user supposed to get those desktop links into your program?

Probably difficult to code, but ideally the user could simply drag those six desktop links over into your program, and *shazam*, all links suddenly are transformed into a list.

(Wonder how many out there have folder after folder of such links, not even remembering what they would lead to.  Wouldn't it be terrific to drag a folder over into your program, generate a big list, and zip through to all sorts of various web pages long forgotten....)

Such a conversion functionality would be pretty significant.  Not at all readily found out there.

If the list could then be saved (.txt, or, huge bonus, .html), well, people might be downloading your program simply to have such easy link conversion.  Let alone the primary ability to load those links one after the other.

In my opinion, Contro, a very important topic.

The best reader I've found is Moon+.  Most unfortunately it is an Android program.  It has a terrific auto-next-page functionality.  Better than anything I've come across.  Everything is great about it, in every way.

Wish it were a Window's program, however.  If only Windows ran Android programs....

Have not yet tried it in BlueStacks, Nox, or the like.

Thanks a million, Vic.  Yes, it would be helpful to have a keyboard shortcut, if possible, to move on to the next URL.

In my particular case, I have been using a macro program (Macro Express) and Flem (Waterfox extension), and moving mouse cursor specifically to a little box (need screen coordinates), clicking in that little box, to move on to the next URL.  This all depends on the screen, window, staying exactly as it was when the macro was 'programmed.'  I was anticipating doing similarly with your program.

Having a keyboard shortcut to move on to the next URL would indeed make life easier.

Let's take a little example:

Below is a list of direct-link URLs for six pdf books I would like to download:

http://www.thebestof...s/thebestrecipes.pdf

I find it best to make sure one book is fully downloaded before starting to download the next.  So, let's assume, I sit and wait.  Then click on tiny box "Next" as needed when the right time comes, for the next URL.  Again and again.  Until all books are downloaded.

(Uhhmmm....  What about 100 books?  Or 1000....)

(Actually, I assume the worst case, and build that into a macro -- say, two minutes per book.  Macro waits, then repeats.  Set that all rolling, while I sleep at night.  By morning, a folder full of new reading material, images, songs, whatever.)

As I've said before, the program I presently use is FLEM -- an extension for Firefox Browser.

But none of the current Firefox variants support FLEM.  And the developer apparently doesn't care to upgrade his/her extension to meet the changes.

Thus, FLEM is basically history now, for the public.

Sad how that happens.

Well, URLister is needed, and will be greatly appreciated.

Requests:

-- Allow copy/paste to get list of URLs entered.
-- Allow drag-into-window to get list of URLs entered.
-- Allow drag-to-program-icon (on desktop), and SendTo, to get list of URLs entered.
-- Allow option to open each URL into separate tabs, OR into just the first tab, overwriting what was there.
-- Allow program window option to STAY ON TOP of other windows (i.e, browsers)

That would be a good start.

Yes, the message -- program exited from, window closed -- has been an annoyance for me as well.  Not sure if Chris has interest to further work on this program, however.

Nevertheless, I use DblEscClose every day.  An easy rapid way to close a window.

@Stephen66515  The next step, if anyone is still interested, is to add button to open the NEXT URL in the list.

Opening all at once is good.  But what's truly needed out there is the ability to open one at a time.  Click button, open the NEXT.

Sadly, the **browser extension** "Flem" which did the above in Firefox was non-working in the new Firefox releases.  And now non-working in the replacement-for-Firefox Waterfox new releases.

I have a list of command.com 'things' I want to execute.  Let's say, 300+.

One command.com 'order' per line.

Presently all 300+ are in one long text file.

Imagine, as metaphor, all 300+ are like bullets on a belt.



I need the 'gun'.

In other words, I'd like to rip off the top, say, 10.  Put them in the gun.  Pull the trigger.

Boom, boom, boom.....

All ten command.com lines get executed, one after another.

Okay, I could make up separate batch files for each group.  But it would be faster to do it some other way.

Enter:  Command-Line Shooter

Thoughts appreciated.

Here's another little approach I discovered....

Screenshot Successful.vbs:

WScript.Timeout = 3
x=msgbox("Screenshot Capture Successful!",0,"Great news....")

Place the above two lines into a blank text file.  Rename text file to .vbs extension.

Place full path and filename into mouser's "Invoke..." box.  Apply.  Save.

Presto.

I try to keep off notifications in general.  But of course I want to see Screenshot Captor's....

Or, as stated at outset, a message that capture was successful.

It was wise of mouser to put in the "Invoke" capability.  Terrific option to have available.

For some weird reason the balloon never comes up on my system.  Thus the request. (Possibly such messages/notifications are turned off by Windows?)

I want to use the "Invoke" the command (see mouser's screenshot above) to run the tiny program to show message on screen, say, for around three seconds.  Just to make sure.

Issue is: Not sure the screen capture actually happened.

Request: Small program to show temporary message on screen.

Time to show message: Around 3 seconds.

Message: Capture successful.

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Appears Mathematica can do this, just about as well as any other way:

Tuples[{a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u,
   v, w, x, y, z}, 3]

So, next part of the question is how to move FOLDERS into those created subdirectories.  If first three letters of folder matches, move into the appropriate new subdirctory.

Example:

Existing folder is c:\abcdefg

Move said folder (and contents, of course) into c:\abc

Should be simple DOS command move c:\abcdefg c:\abc

Unfortunately, works for files.  Not folders....

Another matter arises when existing folder has only one or two characters.  Like c:\ab.

Brainstorming here before searching elsewhere for solutions.

Suppose we want to create the following folders:

c:\aaa
c:\aab
c:\aac
.
.
.
c:\baa
c:\bab
.
.
.
c:\zzx
c:\zzy
c:\zzz

If you following my drift, a-z in first column.  a-z second.  a-z third.

Total new subdirectories = 26*26*26 = 17,576

How might one go about accomplishing this?

(After doing the preceding, then time to move folders appropriately....  I'll turn to that later, perhaps.)

Thoughts appreciated.

If only.  Yes, in a small set of mp3 files, Explorer can show a column of bitrate values.  But in larger collections Explorer chokes.  One has to 'page down' for all the files, and even then....
