It's not only in the Blue Soleil programme folder but in Prefetch - is that correct?
202  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: XP Hangs on Shut Down on: July 03, 2010, 02:51:29 AM
I've found the culprit - at last! After much frustration and testing....  [attach=#]

It's the BTNt service for Bluetooth (Blue Soleil)- I'm setting to manual because I only need it to occasionally connect my Cell Phone!

I prefer doing offline disc/partition imaging.

What does that mean 'offline'?

That looks good 4wd - better than built in System Restore on XP I presume?

Please perform regular maintenance on the Wife 1.0 program as the history database is not guaranteed to import into Wife 2.0!
Now that we're going to be without a specific complaints section, I figured I'd better post this warning here.
Be careful with this!
I tried to replace the Wife 1.0 module with the Mistress module and the program gave me Distress instead.

It must be a Windows issue as I did a Diagnostic Start up with only essential processes running and it still won't shutdown! Except in Safe Mode?

Time for reinstall as I can't restore an Image either.... huh

Back to square one!  mad

Not the Dock and the shutdown problem has started up after 3 days of being okay... I've tested all processes from a-d again and it seems to have picked a different one!  thumb down
219  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: XP Hangs on Shut Down on: June 17, 2010, 01:57:02 AM
It is, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's my Docks (Beta version) which I have now rolled back to a more stable one...

Will be testing that theory today! Wink
220  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: XP Hangs on Shut Down on: June 16, 2010, 02:17:02 AM
It's working now, but I can't pinpoint culprit yet! Gradually shutting off processes before shutdown - it was somewhere between a-d....

My No.1 reason for using QTTabbar is the Double Click on Desktop to open!

noticed this option here, the "Clear Pagefile at Shutdown". could you have run any optimiser/boosters that might have turned this on?

Quote from: website
When this option is enabled, it causes the system pagefile to be cleared upon clean shutdown. This takes considerable time of the Operating System to flush-out the pagefile, thus causing the slow shutdown. You may disable ClearPageFileAtShutdown option to improve shutdown times. But the pagefile.sys will be intact and accessible via other Operating System, in case or dual or multi-boot.

Only CCleaner - no Page File options there...

All of the above Innuendo!

Log off no help but am now going to try ending processes in Task Manager to see if I can isolate the problem...

Also can't boot past Boot screen sometimes- have use restart button!
