1029  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: Tip: Keep your Desktop Empty and Put it on your LaunchBa on: April 29, 2007, 07:41:57 AM
Even Simpler ...

Create a folder anywhere you like (e.g. C:\ or even on the Desktop).

Right click and drag all the icons on your desktop to that folder and select MOVE from the popup menu.

Right click on the task bar and go to Toolbars > New Toolbar ... and browse to your new folder. The toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen and will pop up when you click on the arrow. You can add extra items to the menu just by dragging them to the folder or delete them from the folder as required. You can easily group items int he folder into subfolders.

All this and you need no extra software to do it!

I've done it and like it! Just did it on my friends very cluttered small laptop Desktop and she loves it... Thmbsup

But will try mousers idea... cheesy

Have downloaded and just to clarify.....

Am I correct that this completely replaces system restore?
1039  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Can you disable XP's Recovery System partly? on: April 25, 2007, 07:43:53 AM
System Restore has never worked for me! Even if I have a restore point it says - nothing to restore?

Does erunt replace it completely so you can roll back? I have regseeker which backs up....

also for Firefox, there are extensions such as Mouse Gestures or All-in-One Gestures..

All-in-One Gestures is great - I have a disability and it has been invaluable!  Thmbsup

Curt - just goes to show how smart you have to be to have a good command of the English Language! Thmbsup

I am teaching my neighbour's 9 year old (Afrikaans) Son, as his Father wants him to speak 'real' English and not the local variety!

I am British BTW...

Start by checking the obvious: Control Panel > Sounds & Sound Units ...

It's only the Keyboard Sticky Key Sounds that don't work - all other XP sound is ok. Someone gave me an AHK file but the sticky key sounds still don't work with that! This happened before I got my cordless Key Board/Mouse. tellme

How does that work? - I'm not very 'au fait' with the command window unless I have step by step instructions!  embarassed
1046  DonationCoder.com Software / Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Synch Folders NOT files on: April 22, 2007, 09:08:05 AM
I have yet to find a programme that will synchronize Folders by name and not the files in them.

This would be useful when backing up to a USB drive apps which contain lots of Folders for skins -  like Window Blinds/Rainlender etc....the files inside are not important. I use Free Commander and it's great but cannot compare/synch a whole folder in side by side panes. Sad
