Hmmm

Nice to see a mention of Billy. Small footprint, but limited to mp3's afaict. Musikcube and Songbird are very interesting, but I think they still need refining. I use most of the others as the mood strikes, but tend to favor an older version of jetAudio (bloatware, but I like it, and v.7.x's crapware). I won't touch Real Player, took forever to root out all the debris from the registry. I won Zoom Player Pro in a monthly drawing, but seldom use it.

So much music, so little time... Wink

just my 2 pennies

I tried billy - has the best sound of all my players! Thmbsup

Heh, heh, fair enough Brandon! I'd move to M2 if the plug-ins I love were available (they're not, for now) and I'm certainly not free of the "must have latest version now!" implulse.

Clevercat - have you ever tried Enhanced File Dialog? It's part of the ObjectDesktop suite (and ONLY available as part of the suite - I've asked, a couple of times...) and is 1. the best open/save dialog extender I've tried and 2. the only Stardock app I run all the time. Love Object Dock, too, but it's been rendered redundant by TrueLaunchBar. I still keep the latest version of OD Plus installed (beta at the moment) but don't know why, really.

Yep - love enhanced file dialogue! Am vey attached to object dock... cheesy Have tried Free Launch Bar!

CleverCat, if you have the energy, i'd love to hear if changing this setting fixes the problem you were experiencing in the new verstion:

Will do...... cheesy

1. Launchy  embarassed (only coz it's 'prettier' than FARR)!
2. Object Dock - best launcher I ever had.
3. DesktopX (I have the Object desktop Suite)

When you press enter, farr goes away but the file isn't launched?

Have you had any older farr version? Did it work with that version?
What's the version you have now?

Correct - using XP home - have the Alpha Preview

Anti-Virus often sees 'tracking software as 'dangerous'! if you know it's legit, tell your AV to ignore it....

Wow, CleverCat, my 5 dollar Ashampoo Photo Commander is a media player as well - and I didn't know! Nice to see it also play the divx files, but sad to see it won't handle FLV; have you found some kind of plugin to make it play flash videos?

Only these plugins for APC 5 - http://www2.ashampoo.com/...8_special_download_32.htm

The auto catalog function (and the image function) is for the PRO version only. Did you really start to type your program's info manually? I had a look at SoftCAT but decided that the PRO version is the only one of interest, because typing all these info manually? Not even for a single program! But I do think the Pro version seems to be a very fine program - though I have not yet been ready to pay $30, and with some 300 programs I see no realistic need for the free version.

Show us one of your pictures, CleverCat!!  Thmbsup

Yes I did type in manually! Will be buying Pro version soon Grin

You mean pic of desktop?
1048  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: What's your music player of choice? on: August 09, 2007, 08:16:11 AM
Might sound strange but...the only programme that never 'closes due to error' or gives any problem as a player is...

Ashampoo Photo Commander! Grin

Great for renaming tracks also - easy as pie...
