Curt I have the Free Account but have 7GB due to referrals, invites etc.

My upload speed varies from around 40 - 80 kbps and I only backup important files!

I'm liaising with Spider Oak to try and sort the purging issue. 4wd's command worked, but when I open the GUI the versions are still there!  huh
8  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Spider Oak Purge on: January 07, 2013, 04:43:03 AM
Just doing: C:\"Program Files"\SpiderOak\SpiderOak.exe --destroy-shelved-x

I find this works when changing things in Spider Oak then I do 'repair' command - running now then I'll run Spider Oak - hold thumbs... Grin

No di dice - all versions still there! Drat and double drat.... Sad

Hi 4wd  cheesy

Neither of those works either  Sad

My data is stored on D drive and I tried that too - no luck... huh

I copied this of Spider Oak Website as a shortcut to purge versions:

Quote
c:\\"Program Files (x86)"\\SpiderOak\\SpiderOak.exe --purge-historical-versions d60

The command box says "cannot find path specified"

Their response:

It appears that you added some extra backslashes. Please try entering the command exactly as you see it here:

c:\"Program Files (x86)"\SpiderOak\SpiderOak.exe --purge-historical-versions d60

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Neither command works?

Any ideas?  tellme

We are going to lose our beautiful sweet Tuffy! She has been sick on and off for months, and each time the treatment from Vet has worked. Last week he found she had an enlarged Liver with a mass inside.... Sad We have 2 options:

1. Put her in Hospital overnight for sedation, scan, biopsy etc. (She's never been away from us) and Vet says we may not see anything and in the end it most likely is not curable!

2. Keep her comfortable - at mo the injections and pain meds have worked wonders and she is eating, drinking, barking, running etc.) and spend however much time we have with her enjoying her company.

We have chosen the latter as we do not want to put her through any stress! Vet says he's not sure how much more treatment he can give, but next time she gets sick we'll make decisions....

She has given us almost 11 years of joy and love and we won't let her suffer! As you can imagine we are very heart sore, especially when she is so well at the moment.

The only thing I use True Image for is to create a base image of new OS installs. I like to install windows, activate it and tweak it just the way I like it. Then I add a few essential utilities and image it. Now, I can have a fresh Windows install applied in only a matter of minutes.

I do the same!

Renegade - AFAIK Acronis only deletes backups if u configure it that way - I still have my install backup from 9 months ago, and I do a daily backup and told Acronis to only keep 3 most recent copies. It works for me.... cheesy

Acronis has 'saved my bacon' a few times and my nonstop backup has proved very useful for restoring individual folders on my Data Drive... Thmbsup

They said the script could save them many trips to 'fix' warranty products!  Grin

BTW - it seems Media Monkey's cda burning is fried as mp3 works fine! So if I need to burn a cda for my friends who are still lingering in the 20th Century, I'll just use Windows.... ohmy

I'll be reporting the Bug.... thumb down

My local PC shop is interested in your ahk script - can I send them a copy along with the ahk program?

Disc I burned with plain old windows is fine so am going to roll back MM to previous version and test.

 cheesy

20  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: External DVD Writer on: November 26, 2012, 04:01:45 AM
There have been interesting developments here! After testing it is starting to look like is was the Media Monkey burning engine that was playing up! After an update  ohmy

I have burned a disc using Win 7 and WMP and am currently playing it and so far so good - no decoding errors!

You have good recall 4wd - even I forgot those details!  embarassed Mum has to dive into case soon to disconnect SATA drive while I install Ubuntu on IDE so will see what we can do then...

Will keep u posted after disc finished playing... cheesy
21  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: External DVD Writer on: November 26, 2012, 12:56:33 AM
Don't you have a currently non-used internal IDE DVD writer still in your machine?

You could reconnect it back up - depending on whether it was working or not when it was disconnected - might get you a few more burns before having to expend some money.

Yes but it's Ribbon Cable doesn't reach the IDE connection! Can I replace with something like this? A rounded cable?

22  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: External DVD Writer on: November 26, 2012, 12:54:31 AM
And first prize goes to................

Target  Grin

Script worked like charm and gave the drive a kick in the proverbial backside!  Thmbsup Now it works without the script  Cool

Still got to test the burning as it all started when a music track got corrupted during a burn - I'll be giving it a good burning workout using a CD RW so as not to waste any more discs.

Will keep u posted!  Thmbsup
23  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / External DVD Writer on: November 25, 2012, 02:42:36 AM
Hi - I'm seriously thinking of getting this:

Link to Kalahari.com

My current LiteOn Writer is refusing to eject the tray! Tried uninstalling Driver and rebooting but no go. It got stuck after a decoding error during a burn and although Mum managed to force open with paper clip to retrieve disc it now is well and truly stuck!  Angry

Any 'caveats' for an external usb writer? I don't use my drive much so speed is not a top priority!

Thanks

CC

Oops - corrected - thanks...  Thmbsup

Yes even deep in the Winter we have a few flowering bushes!

Where else does it snow one day and the next I was sitting in the garden drying my hair.... From 9C to 23C!  huh
