I have a gulfstream BT5291 sitting in the back yard. the housing association harrassed me into keeping it there and not in the drive where it was doing nobody any harm.
The idea of running any pipes carrying water anywhere above and beyond what is absolutely necessary fills me with dread. the first time they freeze and break, it's bye bye good idea, hello horror story. thankfully mine has a weak spot at the shower head that blows when the temp drops and it's easy to fix. that plus I live in arsehat SC so it's not cold 99% of the time.
I would dearly love a tiny house. I have been contemplating getting one for a long time now. but RVs are not Tiny houses and vice versa. one is a recreational toy the other is a permanent house but on wheels, built to code preferably.

I believe there's well over 1GB of updates for w8.1. as for firmware... I've not especially noticed but then I hadn't noticed any 'problems' either.

I have the same configuration except with an I5 cpu. I like it, but I also have a surface 3 4GB/128GB and that is adequate for most things and a bit more comfortable anyway. I'm not sold on an I7 in this form factor but I can appreciate it having a bit more horsepower. the fans are quieter than usual but an I7 (unless it is hobbled by the configuration) is going to get warm if exercised.

netlimiter maybe?

do you have 'use hardware acceleration when available' checked in 'options', 'general'?
I usually have to uncheck this to clean up scrolling in FF.

General Software Discussion / Re: Ad Muncher 5 will be free
« on: October 23, 2014, 01:40 PM »
I registered over 13 years ago and (probably as an early adopter) admuncher hasn't cost me a penny since.
I have what I consider to be a personalized registration which I appreciate.
admuncher is always one of the first I install and has worked satisfactorily all this time. there's only a few programs that I personally hold in such high regard.

(mouser), I was looking at that homedesignersoftware suite because I'm thinking about remodeling the kitchen (small). but I read somewhere that counter tops couldn't be 'designed' with the suite version. not that it needs to emulate a granite counter top but a kitchen model with that bit missing isn't much good.
kitchen is squarish but 3 doors take up a lot of wall estate. I would like to 'open up' one wall (a bit more dramatically than you did) and get an idea of what it might look like. (worried about reinforcing what studs remain on that wall to' take the weight).
sketchup looks far too 'bitsy' (model every bit) and HDS suite maybe can't handle it.
any other software suggestions?
thanks

General Software Discussion / Re: Pdf Editor 4.5 from Cadkas.com
« on: October 03, 2014, 03:10 PM »
no, but the only pdf editor I've found that's worth a damn was made by foxit.
it used to be sold separately but now I believe it's hidden in their business suite.

General Software Discussion / Re: Send email from cmdline !

meh, just sayin explaining how to use command line e-mail tools for yahoo or gmail is too close to explaining how to send spam for me to be comfortable.

15
similar problems also but I put them down to admuncher or ghostery.
sometimes switch to an IE engine in FF works, others it's full IE.

16
I had a short sojourn with chrome while mozilla sorted themselves out a month or so ago.
I was glad to get back to FF to be honest but v29 saw me switching to pale moon as fast as I could.
seems strange that mozilla dumped a metroUI version of FF only to foist the dregs on everyones desktop version.
(I have tried through several devices but RT really is a crock of pooh)

I've been using syncovery since super-flexible days and it's been perfect for syncing production machines with our disaster recovery site. extremely configurable.
while I don't have any suggestions I recommend both the dev & software wholeheartedly.

Shades of 1776!

taxation without representation?
as a legal alien, I've lived and been taxed in USA for 14 years.
I don't have any representation, so give it a rest.

IMO it's a dead (very) product and macecraft is laughing all the way to the bank.
does it go 'open source' (whoopee) when it doesn't reach $100,000?
does macecraft just pocket what money was funded?

you do get a lifetime license for a dead product.

General Software Discussion / Re: Beware the Samsung rootkit
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:50 AM »
found this software on a different pc with kies installed. so one with and one without.
I have to agree with IainB post. as far as I can tell this software was used by the samsung store for DRM and also signed content so it could be played on older samsung phones/mp3 players.
it uninstalled without issue too.

I have kies 3 installed but none of the registry entries or files you've listed.

if you ask me (which you didn't) they're asking for funding for an application that's already been written, was relevant back in XP days and has little to no current value.
looks like a duck, walks like a duck...

I got around all this by briefly perusing the e-mail (i also received it) and then deleting it.
