Now made a few changes.

After the list of links comes up, you can right click.
You can then Download the selected links (you can select as many as you want)
Delete from the result list
Copy to Clipboard
and Clear the results

Give it a try and let me know if it works....

If you want it improved, let me know. I notice some pages have duplicates so that could be fixed.

I assume what you want to do it download some/all of the links that come up? I could build it in so that it downloads the links for you?

Let me know if you have any ideas.

It is only grabbing links that are in the main menu and in the side frame, but not from the body of the URL. I have some example pages, but could I get them to you somehow in a pm or something?

Thank you for your work.

Thats weird, it should be looking through the whole page.  I think I need some real samples like you said.  Ummm, just send me a message with the url's in and what you would expect to get back as a result.  A couple of examples should do it.

Thanks

Hi

Not sure if this is what you want, not much error checking or anything on this yet, but give it a go then I'll tidy it.

Standalone executable, just download and run.  Enter your url in the first box i.e. http://www.bbc.co.uk, second box enter a keyword of fileextension name.  Then click go.

The results will appear in the box below which you can cut and paste from.

I may have mis-understood entirely what you wanted though!!

Let me know

but I only care about the ones from www.dddpotbelly.com.

FROM?  do you mean Links TO?

I think I understand....  Not entirely sure what you mean by a shortcut link as apposed to a full link?  Can you explain?

Hi Somps (with a long O)

Let me get this right....

You want something where you say for instance, give it a URL, it then downloads the content of that URL and scans though it for any links to other pages or sites?  If the text content of that page or site matches some 'word or extension' that you choose, the link text itself will then be copied to notepad.  So, you will end up with a list of links, matching your criteria, from a particular page, in notepad?

Have I understood that right?

Sorry I haven't done a lot recently, as work has been getting in the way of my life....

just sent some credits your way awopbamboo -
not to bribe you into more work on it :) but because you just saved me from having to open about 30 PDFs and print them individually

Thanks, that is very much appreciated.....

One more updated attached.  This fixes (I think) most/all of the issues mentioned above.  Now it also minimises to the systray, which is a bit tidier.  Read accompanying readme file in the zip file to see what else I changed.  I have changed/fixed other things that I may have forgotten to mention in the readme.....

Cheers

Yes, .tiff and .tif will be different, so both need to be there or not there.

I know the list of file extensions are not saved, I need to add that!  :D

I want to tidy up a bit anyway, I'll do a bit more testing with different file types etc but so far, they have all worked for me.  BTW, are you using Vista or XP?

. . but unfortunately with tiffs - they get printed to fullpage size, regardless of the actual size of the image (I havent tested any other image files but presume it's the same)

Associate Tiffs to mspaint, they print actual size then.

I'm looking to see if there is a way I can get it to do it with the image printer, no luck yet..

There is an edit box on the main screen, any file extensions shown there and Super printing thingy will use the windows image viewer to try and print the file, not matter what that extension is associated with.  If .tiff is shown there, try removing it and see if windows tries to use anything else to print.  o, then associate with something better to print.

the problem is, someone else was having the issue earlier that hat their files were associated with was then coming up with the print dialog.  It seems to be a no win situation, unless you can associate with something half decent.

I use Paint Shop Pro, and that seems ok....

I'll look and see if there is a way pf printing actualy size with the image viewer...  No doubt someone will come back later and they want to print full size with it!!!  Ho hum...

last version is much better awopbamboo
At the moment though, it prints everything in subdirectories as well - even without 'Include Subdirs' ticked

Does it!  Better sort that!!!   :(

I have a question now... Is making a proggy like this in my future if I keep up with batch scripting or do I really need to move on to vbs scripting or some other language?

Well, not sure what you are using for your batch scripting?  I used Delphi to write this, I believe you can download a free version off of Borlands website.

Also though, I mainly use Lazarus with the FPC (freepascal) compiler.  Its great and its free.  The only reason I didn't use Freepascal for this was because I seem to have a problem getting the list of printers with it.  That would have been me at fault NOT Lazarus!

Spend a bit of time learning something like this, I find them easy to learn.  If I do, then so will everyone else!

Great program.

Couple of suggestions:
1. make simple readme file with your apps and put it in a zip with the app, with any links for more help that you want to provide
2. make about box in your apps

link to anything you want -- the thread on the forum or to your web page, whatever you want, just something so people know where to find more info if they stumble across the program somehow.

Good ideas.  I'll add them this weekend.

What does it do after printing? delete the file or remember it so it wont print again?
Suggestion: an option that moves it to a subdirectory called "Printed" which it never scans.

There is a checkbox/tickbox that says 'Shred files'.  If you click this the files will be deleted.  Although I like the idea of moving them instead.  perhaps I'll add that.

I don't use Vista, (don't even like using Windows.....), but are you saying that the imageviewer is having issues printing through Vista?  Let me know and I'll take a look (I'm sure I can find a friend or family member that uses Vista....)

Let me know....

One more request.
Can you provide a way either to default to a fixed, user-supplied download location, or to remember the location used for the previous run?
And, just as a cosmetic suggestion, what do you think of having the background reset to the default when completed, rather than retain the last-downloaded image?

Thats done now:
09/SEP/2009 : Added commandline switches
/d <default_directory_name>
/f <wordlist_file>
/r Run the search as soon as app loads (same as clicking the 'Go' button)
/q close app after running

So, you wanted to load a word list in a file named LIST.TXT, and output the images to C:\IMAGES and execute immediately (non intractively), then quit the app once its done....
Getimage /f list.txt /d c:\images /r /q
Or just default a directory to use:
GetImage /d c:\images

New file attached....
