Do not respond in any way at all! Especially DO NOT CALL that phone number!

Why do you think that phone number is there?
To get your phone number!

ZoomIt and I never could get along for some reason.
I know a lot of people use and recommend it, and I tried, it just never did the same for me.
Here's a shot of iconico's magnifier, using the magnify screen. It's an adjustable size screen that can follow the mouse pointer or leave the magnify screen in a spot of choice.
78  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / software magnifiers on: September 16, 2013, 07:02:59 PM
Found a couple of magnifiers for the desktop screen that I like.
They seem to be much better then the default with w7.

This one is my favorite so far.

With this one as a close runner up.

Both are free. The second one, Virtual Magnifier, is accepting donations.
Each one works different, so it's a couple of good choices, imo.

Here's a ruler that I thought was cool.
It's not like renegade's program, but some may like it.

You can use the escape key while holding the left mouse button down.
That is the way I cancel selected region.
Escape will not cancel after you let the left click go.

or unpressing the left click -
is that a word 'unpressing' ?
82  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Esc Key on: September 14, 2013, 01:22:56 PM
Is there any other program that may be monitoring or changing the keyboard or mouse clicks? That's all I can think of, sorry.

Been using Xnview after I tried to use the windows live photo thing.
Live worked for a short time but when I needed it, it did not perform.
85  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: auto-select next file viewing on: September 12, 2013, 10:18:10 PM
yes, working now
86  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: auto-select next file viewing on: September 12, 2013, 09:28:07 PM
reinstalled with defaults-

Ok, try deleting via CTRL+Q, or the delete screenshot tool icon on the right of the main window.

It works like it's supposed to using the keyboard key 'delete'.

I thought I was going out of town tonight, but that's canceled.
87  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: auto-select next file viewing on: September 12, 2013, 11:11:28 AM
going to reinstall with reset defaults as soon as i can and check it

[Feature] New option (enabled by default) to auto-select next file after deletions.

First I can't find the option for on or off. Minor, but this might be the trouble. Don't know yet.

Having a little trouble with this feature.
After it was added it worked at first, then it quit auto selecting, as in being viewed in the main window.

To be more clear, it did auto select the next file after deleting, and the next file was highlighted in the Thumbnail Panel, but would not show in the SC main window. So the auto select is working but it's not auto showing in the SC main window.

I'll be away from my computer for a day or 2. Only time to take a quick look at the forum, but not much time to test.

thanks

Just now tried it.
Very nice!
I can see why app wanted it revived.
thanks

Is there a specific requirement for a ruler to be added to the tools menu?
Like open source or something.

Cause I like these-but I don't know how to make 'em tools.

And I think this one would be most useful, if I understand some of the things that are requested.

after some thought and time,
I was rude and my comments were not my best nature.
somebody give me a few shots of mouser diplomacy
i don't know how he does it

(i still think the benefit thread is appropriate though)

SC is really a treasure that keeps unfolding.
The closer you look the more is found that it can do.

Like you barney, I found SC a long time ago.
Back then there were not many capture programs.
I can't remember sometimes.

Okay
94  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: The Great Screenshot Captor Ruler Debate Thread on: September 08, 2013, 07:19:30 PM
I'm not defensive or offended or upset. I have more confidence in mouser then that.

I agree mouser, that you have come up with some useful things out of these posts.

But this is what a troll wants to do. To get folks upset over nothing and forget about the actual real topic. Imply and projecting feelings on to another without any proof of thought from anyone except the one projecting.

I've dealt with worse face to face. This ain't nothing.
95  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: The Great Screenshot Captor Ruler Debate Thread on: September 08, 2013, 06:41:51 PM
Not a troll?
Yeah, has been and has not stopped talking just like a troll.
Called it the first time.

cathie28
I would like to see where you have actually used a ruler to create a finished shot. Not an example but something that you have actually done with possible "another app", using it's ruler.

My request is the same as mouser's. Just simplified a bit.

Can those who want rules try the new BETA i just uploaded and let me know if you think it's actually useful (and how so?).

So, actually useful in what real time screenshot work, How So?

So we can stop wasting time on a useless feature and do more productive thought work.

I use Screen Calipers from Iconico if I need that type of precision.
Screen Calipers is dedicated to doing what it does, not much more and certainly not less.

98  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: The Great Screenshot Captor Ruler Debate Thread on: September 08, 2013, 05:12:41 PM
I guess it's useful for what you are using it for, cathie28.

2. The '0' on ruler is partly cut off.

That's true of most any ruler, or it would be offset from the hash mark.

And the help file is live here at the forum 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
100  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot Capture Benefits on: September 08, 2013, 04:22:15 PM
lol...maybe...

another benefit of SC is that it is user contributed
Screenshot Capture is built with the help of it's users
