Looking at 7stacks site again, noticed the author has a popup calendar.
Add another to the mix. Seems lite, $15
View-day, week, month, year.

Here's a shot of 7stacks.
the home page-http://alastria.com/software/7stacks/
This is actually the 'My Documents' folder, showing dc's folder with a 'goback' button, and the popup that will show how many folders and files inside.

Okay, I get it, I think smiley
Would a new toolbar on the taskbar work?
This is my dropbox folder for an example.
Just because I'm sure you know what it is, and not something else.

Is this the StandaloneStack you mean?

Also here is a manual way to pin a folder.
If this is what you want.

What's nice about VueMinder is the ability to add hyperlinks and shortcuts to files on my computer.
Maybe some of these others can do that as well, I don't know.

Anyway, if you could add that ability, mouser, that would be cool.
Or maybe to open Notepad or choice of word processor designated,
when clicking on a date. That would more workable then a small box, I think.

I don't have VueMinder running all the time, only when I need it.

The plus of DropBox over Box is that DB has a larger file size upload limit.

I like Windows Live Photo Gallery, after using a few dozen others.
It can do most all of my viewing and editing needs with video support too.
I don't have thousands, just hundreds.
The thumbnail rendering and scrolling and navigation is fast enough for me.

It's a good way to entertain kids and keep them from getting into trouble via boredom.
A good tool to inspire imagination as well.
We are raising two boys and the effects socially are minimal.
21 and 23 now, teachers were impressed with their ability to type and understand technology and communicate what they learned.
Starting with 3.1 to present they have always had access to computers and more.

So if I use Skype in the UK to communicate with someone in the UK it is subject to the US Patriot Act?

Yes.

Quote
Various provisions allowed for the disclosure of electronic communications to law enforcement agencies. Those who operate or own a "protected computer" can give permission for authorities to intercept communications carried out on the machine, thus bypassing the requirements of the Wiretap statute. The definition of a "protected computer" is defined in 18 U.S.C. ยง 1030(e)(2) and broadly encompasses those computers used in interstate or foreign commerce or communication, including ones located outside the United States.

143  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: PicPick vs FastStone Capture vs Screenshot Captor vs Jet Screenshot on: January 23, 2013, 05:36:57 AM
PicPick is annoying with it's constant updates and crapware bundle.
I removed it off my wife's computer, she was annoyed as well.
Plus you have to get it from cnet and no direct download link that I found.

FastStone is better at scrolling windows then SC.
Other then that SC is my standard.

Without reviewing the built-in editors they are all basically the same.

I've had no troubles with SC's built-in editor.
It does what it says, and what I want it to.
FastStone's editor is pretty basic.

Oh, one other thing.
SC is faster at saving shots.
One can grab multiple shots very quick.
Just save in the pop-up dialog and grab another without the editor.

edit again- Just played with FS a bit, it can save quickly too.

Thanks, One thing I like about CleanUp! Is I can run it in demo mode, and it shows what files it would have deleted. And it shows a report in real mode too, but after I have cleaned. This is one thing that TFC lacks is a report of files deleted, like CCleaner.
145  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: FBI ALERT SCAM - Malware or Virus ? on: January 22, 2013, 01:46:55 PM
@Stoic Joker

ATF-Cleaner, do you disable these or leave them disabled?-

Quote
Notes for Windows Vista users:

On Windows Vista that "Windows Temp" is disabled, to empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator"
Prefetch has been disabled on Windows Vista. As I'm not sure the effects that emptying prefetch on Windows Vista  will have for the time being it I won't enable that function.

Just wondering.

And I do use TFC without any troubles.

I have been using CleanUp! (Gould), but not recommending it.
It's good for custom file and folder locations and temps.

146  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: FBI ALERT SCAM - Malware or Virus ? on: January 22, 2013, 11:13:07 AM
If you are unsure about TFC, do not run it.
I have not had any problems myself, but that is me.

Have you tried CCleaner?
For CCleaner I only use the cleaner, not the registry cleaner.
Also I would uncheck the cleaning of cookies, untill you know how the advanced settings work.

147  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: FBI ALERT SCAM - Malware or Virus ? on: January 22, 2013, 09:35:22 AM
TFC will clean more then Windows Disk Cleanup and CCleaner.
All 3 will pick up what the other does not.

TFC will stop most process' before it cleans and sometimes prompts for a reboot.
Even if it does not prompt for a reboot I always log off and back on again.
You should see better performance for a while till the temps load up again.
If you want to run it, there is no install, it's portable.
148  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: FBI ALERT SCAM - Malware or Virus ? on: January 22, 2013, 05:26:33 AM
crabby3, There is no "SpeedUp" for windows program that works.
Even if it is endorsed by Microsoft.
Don't believe everything you read on the net.

The simple way would be to reinstall windows.
If you don't want to do that, try TFC.
A temporary file cleaner.

http://www.geekstogo.com/...file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/

Read about what it will clean.
Search the net for info about it.
Ask on sites where you value their opinion.
Then, maybe, download and run it.

i don't see anything in that list that deserves to be covered up and hidden as secret and explained away as: "we have secret reasons that justify expulsion but we're not going to tell you what they are."

That is a good point.

And the fact (if it is true, according to available facts) that Skytech is offering him a job leads me to think 'it' was not very harmful to anyone or any property.

I like Zotero too.
It has a standalone program that syncs with the add-on.
