NOTE: If you make a mistake in your mouse button configuration, you can disable X-Mouse
Button Control by right clicking the icon in the system tray and selecting Disable from the
menu. You can also, if configured, use the scroll lock key or a global hotkey.

very important! smiley

and it's easier to fix if you set the tray icon to always visible
I have lost my default left click function in a "layer" setting and forgot about that note.
127  DonationCoder.com Software / Coding Snacks / Re: Single click focus, double click bring to front on: August 24, 2013, 11:24:17 PM
You might want to try XMouse

http://www.highrez.co.uk/...s/XMouseButtonControl.htm

Take a look at all the options and settings, maybe there is a combination that will work for you.

I use it mainly to make my middle single click 'browser refresh' along with (optionally) left click 'browser forward' and right click 'browser back'.
I have these settings in what is called "Layers" that can be switched from default to at least 5 more layers with different mouse click settings that can be changed from the tray.

Cool, I don't think I've seen this option till now, or even noticed the text border's options - box, round box, ellipse and none.

I would pick 'select and load the next shot after' option after deleting a shot. And if there is not an older shot, to auto jump to the newer. Or the other way around. Either would be useful.
That's me, but I'm for the majority vote if there is one.

No word on the cost yet I suppose.
Nothing I could find said it was free either.
Not that I expect it to be free.
Just saying.

Also, I would think that every module or cleaning component should be separate and optional. With the ability to change settings for each machine connected.

Sounds like the access warnings on my phone when I install a new app. Very annoying but things I need to know I suppose. Like a Firewall that is not configured yet.

Anyway, what I had found was by way of searching DDG using different terminology for the problem.

So you could try "configure your applications to use only SOCKS4a or SOCKS5 with remote hostname resolution", or search for the IP it's warning about. Or the entire warning message.

Quote
64.120.78.14:80 is hide-my-IP, which I don't subscribe to, it's just the home page I always use to automatically go to first to tell me if I'm in protected mode the instant I start my browser.
That web site always fails to detect my identity, but it is possibly triggering TOR warnings.

This sounds like TOR is doing it's job and you are protected. So I think your home page is doing what you want it to. Does this message come up on other pages?

My guesswork for what it's worth.

Note: Even if you are using Mozilla Firefox, you must enable Torbutton before you can anonymously surf the Internet. If you are using a different browser, you must configure its proxy settings so that it connects to the Internet through Tor.

there is a lot of info about connecting at that site

@ Shades I agree that leaving 5 minutes early helps save energy.
When I'm not rushed, I drive without as much stress. So I don't stress the car either. Take off slower and keep my foot out of the tank.

138  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Show us a picture of your.. CAR!!! on: August 03, 2013, 10:20:22 AM
yeah on the smart car thingy
I would not trust GM with my safety in a small car like that.
Still to this day GM has not even come close to the imports in the smaller cars. Ford seems to be doing better. I think Ford nearly lost all their customer loyalty with the Escort and the Probe. It wasn't until a few years ago they finally made the Mustang a worthy sports car.
The '13 Honda 2.4 I4 has direct injection that their previous I4s never had. So that puts them up in the competition. But there is not a Turbo charged engine yet from Honda. I don't think it will happen with the goal of economy class fuel mileage. Plus without Turbo, regular gas can be used instead of premium.
139  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Show us a picture of your.. CAR!!! on: August 03, 2013, 09:06:29 AM
2013 Accord Sedan LX I4

Zero to 60 mph: 6.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 15.3 sec @ 93 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 126 mph
Braking, 70–0 mph: 180 ft

Had it up to 100mph between Memphis and Little Rock.
Would not up shift past about 60mph that I could feel.
@100mph it was at around 5000rpm

btw, I don't use the ECO button, the car will not respond properly imo
and I did better gas mileage with it off instead of on
140  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Show us a picture of your.. CAR!!! on: August 03, 2013, 05:37:33 AM
I meant to add that in addition to the stop start tech for fuel mileage, is the use of low resistance tires and better coasting ability without a lot of drag on the engine when you let off the gas.

The CVT transmission contributes a lot to less drag and better mpg. It's design is to keep an even amount of g-force accelerating and, by what I've observed, keeping the rpms below 3000, if I don't push the pedal a lot. I can drop it down to sport and it will wind out the gears, more like a standard automatic at higher rpms. I think the Honda cvt is better than most cvts except maybe the Nissan.
141  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Show us a picture of your.. CAR!!! on: August 03, 2013, 05:30:39 AM
If I was to go as small as the Elio, I'd opt for a Fiat 500.
Better looking and better style that will last a lot longer than these other small "things". More money I'm pretty sure. But it's been around a while and a lot of options and standard equipment is up there with higher trim level sedans and coupes. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/fiat-500/ke1708.html

Gas mileage depends a lot on the foot, as everyone knows. Or hills...
The Accord gets over 30 driving easy around town, and as high as 48 with city/highway miles.

The "blue technology" by VW, boasting over 50mpg, is a shut off the engine when stopped deal, and fires back up when you hit the gas. Ford has that option on some of their cars. I don't think I would like that at all. But it seems smarter.

Back to the Fiat. Lighter is faster, no doubt. A lighter car can be a lot faster then a car that has 100 horsepower more imo, with the better technology of getting all the power to the wheels quicker. Some of the smaller motors, 4 cylinders, of today get more horsepower than some of the older v8s.

Rapport operates to warn against capturing sensitive information on that secure site (even when that is not the active tab) when a print screen attempt is made using the PrtScr key

Firefox has the ability to split the screen showing two or more web pages at the same time within the browser window, with only one page having focus or active, and the other page or pages visible. So it's a good feature of that banking security software.

Addendum: I use Trusteer Rapport banking software as required by some banks. Turning that off in Firefox makes SC work. Turning it back on and it still works, but restart FF & SC stops. If I go to IE8 (Rapport is showing there) SC works. Still seems to be a FF Avast plugin issue.

no, it's not required by any bank i know of
i checked a few banks that offered this and TOS, all optional
i think it's a good protection layer
which makes me wonder about the direction this thread could have taken from reply 13
maybe not, just wondering
147  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot Captor - Blank Capture Problem Solved - Caused by Avast plugin on: July 20, 2013, 07:17:17 PM
the more I look at this Trusteer Rapport deal, from what I've read, it's had problems with Firefox, but not other browsers, and problems in general which may be normal

and it would think SC is a security risk for taking screen shots of user names and passwords

eh!?, yeah....another security software, Trusteer Rapport

Some of today’s nastiest data-stealing malware works by hijacking these Windows APIs. For example, keyloggers simply hijack or ‘hook’ the Windows API that handles the transmission of data from user interfaces, such as the keyboard and mouse. A more advanced type of malware – known as a ‘form grabber’ – hijacks the ‘WinInet‘ API – which sets up the SSL (think https://) transaction between the user’s browser and the encrypted Web site. By hijacking this API, a form grabber can rip out usernames and passwords even when the user is submitting them into a site that encrypts the data during transmission because it grabs that information at the lower level of the operating system, before it is encrypted.

Trusteer’s software examines these and other vital Windows APIs to see if any other process is trying to intercept sensitive data. It then blocks those that do.

treating it like other security software should reveal a way to exclude or allow

for that I suggest contacting Trusteer Rapport

not that Trusteer Rapport is a bad program, but in the interest of your security, I would not have you display on a public forum it's workings, or you working with it

you might have to reinstall SC, because Avast probably quarantined it on the last quick scan.
