A plus for yac is sharing the modem for faxing.

Phone plus has stopped the sharing aspect because of problems that the author has said but not explained.

In other words yac will play nicely with windows fax, with it's share modem feature, but you have to shut down or release the port to fax with phone plus. The author says that this feature of sharing the modem was causing problems for end users. Don't know what they were though.

Not sure how 'call alert' will play with windows fax......yet.......

Thanks mouser,

Yac is a good free one except for no phone book. Just a notepad log.

Checking out 'Call Alert' for a while.

Phone Plus I've had for years and it's add to phone book feature is cool.

Would like to see it's notes be hyperlink enabled and have talked to the author about it. But that feature is still not implemented.

Seems there are web based messengers that might be able to help.
Sign in on the one on your computer and with a different sign in name use the web based one.

MSN requires you to turn off your popup blocker-that bites.

While Yac is free Phone Plus ($25 I think) has a cool little phone book and you can add more phone books. I use Phone Plus on one computer and Yac on the rest.

I couldn't get Phone Plus to notify other computers via it's listening setup. But doing that with Yac is easy.

Any other Caller ID programs out there?

Also there used to be a program that you could send commands to your modem to enable caller id if the modem would accept it.
I'm wondering if there is another that will do the same.
I know about the extra string command to add in the modem but this program enabled the modem from outside of the modem. It would enable Caller ID and that's all you had to do.

Gotta go to work, ttyl. Love this website!!!!!!

You can open two chat windows at the same time.
With most chat programsI'm sure.

Is what you are wanting to do is log in with two different accounts?

Which chat program do you want to use?

hmmm-

Are the videos set to run on one program for each computer?
Perhaps installing the same software for viewing the videos on the download computer can be installed on the tv computer.

In another words, if one is set to quick time and the other wmp then that might slow down the connection.

Plus wireless is not as good as wired in my opinion.
100 ft cat 6 cords are not priced too badly from tigerdirect.com.

Don't know about the streaming part-as in while its playing on the computer it plays on the computer connected to the tv.

I would like to see if there are answers to your question also.
Because I have a computer that has a tv card and does well with tv, but there isn't anyway to stream it to my other computers that I know of.

For your videos on the computer not connected to the tv, you could set them to share and they would be in your 'network places' on the computer connected to the tv.

Anyways I'll be watching to see if there is a streaming as in live stream for tv.

So you have a computer with a tv card and can watch tv on it and you want to stream that tv to another computer?

This is the one I use but that one looks cool too.
One can sync any file or groups of files or the whole comp with 'goodsync'.

Here's one from a kind of small company :), but I understand it's only for their new operating system.

Hey thanks for the welcome and the link.

Sure makes it easier to run programs and get some production going.
Without having to think about which keyboard or mouse to use.

Always a good feeling to accomplish something or just finish fixing a problem.

Like wow man it actually works!
I don't know if anyone here knows of this free software but it does work.

One mouse and keyboard to control and operate two computers.
And the other mouse and keyboard still works on the client machine.

Perhaps you folks know of this program, or not.
But I thought I'd contribute a little here.

Going to play with it a bit more.
See if I can get it to drag and drop between computers.

You folks know of any others like this?
The KVM deal wasn't what I was lookin for, although it works, it's not free.
