after some thought and time,
I was rude and my comments were not my best nature.
somebody give me a few shots of mouser diplomacy
i don't know how he does it

(i still think the benefit thread is appropriate though)

SC is really a treasure that keeps unfolding.
The closer you look the more is found that it can do.

Like you barney, I found SC a long time ago.
Back then there were not many capture programs.
I can't remember sometimes.

I'm not defensive or offended or upset. I have more confidence in mouser then that.

I agree mouser, that you have come up with some useful things out of these posts.

But this is what a troll wants to do. To get folks upset over nothing and forget about the actual real topic. Imply and projecting feelings on to another without any proof of thought from anyone except the one projecting.

I've dealt with worse face to face. This ain't nothing.

Not a troll?
Yeah, has been and has not stopped talking just like a troll.
Called it the first time.

I would like to see where you have actually used a ruler to create a finished shot. Not an example but something that you have actually done with possible "another app", using it's ruler.

My request is the same as mouser's. Just simplified a bit.

Can those who want rules try the new BETA i just uploaded and let me know if you think it's actually useful (and how so?).

So, actually useful in what real time screenshot work, How So?

So we can stop wasting time on a useless feature and do more productive thought work.

I use Screen Calipers from Iconico if I need that type of precision.
Screen Calipers is dedicated to doing what it does, not much more and certainly not less.

I guess it's useful for what you are using it for, cathie28.

2. The '0' on ruler is partly cut off.

That's true of most any ruler, or it would be offset from the hash mark.

lol...maybe...

another benefit of SC is that it is user contributed
Screenshot Capture is built with the help of it's users

Taking some time here to try to list the many benefits of Screenshot Capture.
Mainly because mouser is too modest to start a thread like this.

Most if not all other Screenshot programs have already chosen most of the options for you, and they are not changeable. Mouser's Screenshot Capture has many options to choose from, which means mouser's Screenshot Capture will do exactly what you want it to do.

Yes, you will have to learn what you want Screenshot Capture to do. It's not hard and worth the effort of the user.

A new feature of Screenshot Capture is the Caption section of mouser's program. It's in it's infancy, and as more is added to this feature, I'm quite certain that Captions will have plenty of sub-features to choose from (it already has a few). And, yes, you might have to learn a little about captions, but it will be worth it.

One of the major benefits of mouser's Screenshot Capture is it's low resource usage while idling and in use. It does what you tell it to do and then gets out of the way, sitting in the tray, not burning needed resources, ready to be called on without having to load anything else.

Please add more as you see fit.

I do not see the benefit of adding things to SC that are not useful. Please do not make SC a candy coated bloatware memory hog like so many others have done.

thanks

cathie28,
it's a caption, or if you prefer, a memo, not a word processor

memo = A memorandum (abbrev.: memo) was from the Latin verbal phrase memorandum est, the gerundive form of the verb memoro, "to mention, call to mind, recount, relate", which means "It must be remembered (that)...". It is therefore a note, document or other communication that helps the memory by recording events or observations on a topic.

caption = Photo captions, also known as cutlines, are a few lines of text used to explain or elaborate on published photographs.

Some good pictures for wallpaper or whatever you want them for.

Some of Interfacelift's pictures are a bit over photoshoped for my taste.

So now that you know how to fix the caption box to your specifications, can we move on?, to please show me what you want a "standard text memo box" to look like.

Have you tried these different options for captions yet?

118
The only place for setting auto copy I could find is in the quick capture bar, "select post-capture options" drop down menu. I have "copy image to clipboard" checked.

Still hides the main form like it's supposed to.

119
working here

this might be the key-

My main case is copy screen region and paste it in documents as is.

How are you copying and pasting the shot?
Something has to be checked to auto copy, right?

Look up or search for Castle 3B on youtube.
Those should be downloadable.

Yes, the NSA is violating our civil rights. And the government has been doing it for years under the cover of one agency or another. I think they are afraid someone might tell the truth for a change.

Here in America most think it's for their own good. But it's not, and few know it.

Our politicians are two-faced liars. And should not talk about the other countries who violate civil rights until they do something to clean up their own house.

Why not use the highlight rectangle/circle tool? (yellow square tool)
Then you can put a rectangle or circle any where in the shot, and change it to any color, white or whatever. That would "cut" any thing you want to cut.

I use WinPatrol, but you are right they will add themselves again. And I think WinPatrol is just telling me it happened and not stopping it from happening.

btw, if you are using Microsoft windows, it's not your property according to the Eula. Sorry....
