27 Software / Finished Programs / Re: Skinny Paste on: August 16, 2010, 05:12:08 AM
Thanks again for giving me in a day what I've spent weeks searching for.

You're very welcome.  I'm glad I could help.

Another great coding snack Skwire it

btw how do you get seperator eg <menu caption>|<clip text> for the text file from off the keyboard .excuse my ignorance on this one .Just been copy pasting it for my purposes

Just found it my keyboard has it as 2 vertical dashes not a full vertical dash .Fluked finding it by changing the  hotkey to crtl shift \  and I hit shift | by mistake lol  embarassed

28 Software / Finished Programs / Re: Finished Coding Snack: Organize Text on: July 25, 2010, 05:45:51 AM
Here's what kalos and I came up with.  "Text Targets" is the name.

  • Unicode compatible.  The app can read UTF-16 or UTF-8 files.  Target files are written in UTF-8.
  • Select up to thirty target files.
  • Each target file can have its own hotkey.  Spacebar skips a line.

  • Choose a source file.
  • Set destination/target files.
  • Click Start.
  • The "Line" field will then show the first line of the source file.
  • At this point, you can choose a target file for the line or simply skip it.
  • After choosing a target file or skipping, the next line is shown and so on until you click Stop or reach the end of the source file.
  • Lines that were sent to a target file are removed from the source file once Stop is clicked or the end of the file is reached.  Skipped lines remain in the source file.
(see attachment in previous post)

Hi Skwire.

had a try with this AHK   and I find that my target file gets put in at the beginning of the 1st line.
also the hotkeys aren't being saved just been using control 1  control 2 in trying this out.

30 Software / Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Shell extension to open the folder of a running application on: May 19, 2010, 04:56:57 AM
Would you try this version?  I commented out the section of the loop where it detects if the FavesSA program is running.  That's likely to be the CPU expensive section.

edit: the reason the file is large is I disabled UPX compression.

edit2: I phased out the FavesSA support as it's a lot of resources for limited functionality.
Also I added some calls after completed functions to reduce memory footprint.  The new
version 1.4 is available on my hotkeys page:

(If it still runs up the CPU let me know. But I suspect the call to ProcessExists() to check if FavesSA is running, in the loop was the resource eater.)

Hi Milesahead  Great little program only trouble I have with it is Control numpad minus is also the hotkey for decreasing the font size in Chrome.   Control numpad plus being for enlarging the font size.
Any chance of a choice of another hotkey being assigned to your program to cover the problem.
31  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Email change notification solution? on: May 12, 2010, 01:47:01 AM

this link will give some idea of Thunderbirds limitations as to group  messaging

The main thing is to test with just a few email addresses to my tip to you is to include your own mail address in with the BCC  that will ensure that you can see if you are doing things right.
my example in the previous should work

32  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Email change notification solution? on: May 11, 2010, 11:20:05 PM

Thanks for the link. It looks like somehting that is usable except that I see that when I send an email all the recipients email adresses are shown in the list. I am porbavly looking for some kind of hiding method, so the list is private.

Use the Blind CC option        enter ie name of the group   Examplegroup<your own email address>into the email address line .

(include the <  > as shown above)

Skip the cc  line

enter the emails of that group you wish to send to under the Blind CC line

All each person in that group will see is Examplegroup<your own email address>

do that for each group renaming the Examplegroup to the corresponding group of people

What you are doing here is sending an email to yourself and the Blind CC will cover sending to each individual in that group without anybody seeing the other email addresses

Remember to put a comma between each email address and have no spaces.

Hope that helps

This is a great idea for a program.  Thanks paarkhi and skwire!  I tried this last night, but nothing showed up in my context menu.  I figured when I rebooted in the morning it'd show up.  I did find the 'Files 2 Folder' entry, but ONLY in the Quick Launch items context menus!  The files on my Desktop didn't have the entry, and trying the context menu with an open Explorer didn't help.

At this point I'd like to ask what might prove to make me look stupid, but where are the hidden settings?  I've used a lot of stuff I haven't been shy messing with as far as settings, like Rainlender, Sumarize, etc.  I tried opening Files2Folder.exe in ResHacker, but didn't see them there.  I didn't see a folder in 'Application Data.'  I thought maybe I had to point to the desktop or something, although that really doesn't make any sense.

I should add my context menus are a bit jazzed up.  I use MMM+, and Folder Guide.  Would that interfere with the registration process?  Also, I hadn't quite read down here far enough to figure out I should've answered Yes when the initial prompt to register appeared.  I said No on the first run, and when I realized my mistake went back and said Yes on the second run.  Like I said, the entry did appear after in one context menu, just not everywhere.

Anyone have any ideas?

I couldn't get it to go until I uninstalled Folder Guide,  MMM and another context menu program MooO  so there must be a correlation between having Context menu programs and Files2Folders
So will settle with the latter its the one I would have the most use for.
Thanks skwire another good program..

v1.0.4 build 1 - 2010-02-04
    * Revamped Trout's upper GUI.  (Thanks, Lesmo16)
        1) Larger, multi-line title text area.  Right-clicking on this area will allow you to copy the text to your clipboard.
        2) Larger album art.
        3) Volume control moved horizontally under the control buttons.
+ Under Tools, Options, String formatting tab, you can now preview any and all formatting changes easily.

Hopefully, I didn't break anything.  =]  However, if I did, you can download the older version here:

Here's how the new changes turned out.
(see attachment in previous post)   (see attachment in previous post)
Hi skwire
Maybe a bug under Tools\Options\Audio notification on new track\Enable--TTS $title as token

On playing new song it gives the last song played.

"the more you take away the larger it becomes" is referring to a hole. The more you dig the bigger it gets  beerchug

Yes My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\SHELL\Files 2 Folder\Drop Target

Win XP3
39 Software / Finished Programs / Re: DONE: Right Click any file and create New Folder by its Name on: September 03, 2009, 04:12:00 AM
It should only register for files.  If you have a folder selected, the entry won't show.  Perhaps that is the issue?

definitely not showing at all . Uninstalled and reset it again even rebooted ......nothing

40 Software / Finished Programs / Re: DONE: Right Click any file and create New Folder by its Name on: September 02, 2009, 06:51:41 PM

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes.  I haven't added in the char stripping yet.  I need to get some sleep so I'll pick this up later tonight.

Hi Skwire.

not registering on my machine Win XP in the right click context menu.
ran the exe and it asked to register in the context menu which I OK'd
doesn't show though.

One last question:

How would I program Alt F4 with AutoHotKey?
and none of them worked.

can anyone help?

have you tried the AutoHotkey forum someone there will sure help you and they are very good if someone like yourself have had a go using Autohotkey and can provide the problem in detail and the attempts made as well.
Give them a go then post your solution here when you are successful

Show hundredths of seconds:  Can you show the hundredths of seconds...for precision timing.

Most likely not, sorry! With manual starting and stopping, it doesn't seem to make sense to have such a high precision. I check the time every second only four times a second to keep the CPU usage low.

The Windows timer message is not very reliable. If the computer is busy doing other things, timer messages are sometimes dropped. My stopwatch will make up for it, since it doesn't just count seconds, but calculates the interval from the last timer tick. So in theory I could show the time with millisecond precision, but in practice it would be deceitful to do so, as the measure would not be that precise.

Could you perhaps create two versions one as it is and one with hundredths of seconds...for precision timing would suit me as well

Just a suggestion    btw nice clean interface with all those options it's just great looking

44  Special User Sections / Site/Forum Features / Re: Feature Request: Copy Code on: May 01, 2009, 10:19:37 PM
I guess you Coeluh are after something like they have at the AHK forums where they have the option to expand the code input window to show the full text of a multilined code.
I actually thought they did have an option at one stage to copy that code to the clipboard at AHK but it may have been on another sites forum.

it seems like they did had the 'copy code' feature but it wasn't working on all browsers (such as Firefox) and the idea is pretty useful. thumbs up

I had the feeling it used to be there but I did a quick check before my original posting and to my surprise it wasn't there.

Thanks Mouser if you can implement those improvements I don't think the copy code feature will be much trouble here between browsers here as the AHK site is full on copy and re-posting code .
As long as you can implement it for Chrome I'll be happy Thmbsup

They can be bought here for a long time already....although the concept sounds excellent, I absolutely hate the way it "feels" when you're typing on them.

For me that is the primary reason for liking a keyboard or not.
I can see what you mean.
true the concept is good maybe they could have produced as an option a model with a little more depth(density underneath)to compensate the likes of those already used to a standard keyboard that normally has a raised profile .
46  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Revolutionary Keyboard on: May 01, 2009, 07:20:47 PM
I have just come across one of these keyboards in an internet cafe here in New Zealand and thought it was just great and worthy of a global mention.

I have no connection to the firm that produces and sells this product. Never knew it existed before yesterday
The possibilities of this product being a standard amongst schoolchildren and preschoolers looks immense.  Also for the outside environments.
It speaks for itself on the webpage .

Maybe Mouser could approach for discount giveaway promotion

I don't think it would be impossible just to have an input window that has code to include the options to (a) expand-collapse (b)copy to clipboard

The initial posting would only show one or two lines of code to save message space.
The benefit would be when there are updates amendments to the code with repetitive showing the original then the amended it will not obtrusive to the non interested.
