Life is funny sometimes.  No monumental changes to my life- just a slow quiet morph into an old man.   

I don't post much on any site I visit, but it is good to acknowledge 10 years of consistently interesting, useful, friendly forum.

It's a 'delta' style because it has three legs, and three arms that control the hotend.  So no true X, Y, and Z axes.

I bought a 'delta' style printer last black Friday, and have enjoyed building it- then figuring out how to make good parts!
I work with 3D CAD at work, so the creating is pretty straightforward, as long as there are not too many curves.  Sorry, CODY would be easiest to print if it was scanned, or recreated by an artist.  Which I'm not.
So far I have printed 4 custom hooks to hold dog leashes, an adapter to mount my dashcam in the most discreet spot, and some button battery holders for a guy at work making electric tea lights.  My current project is an organizer for the center console in my truck to hold glasses.  It's slow going, but I'll get there.

I have 2 monitors at work, and the other 2 engineers liked it so much they copied.  The other two do a lot of CAD work, and with identical monitors, can stretch the active window onto two monitors for an (almost) seamless view that is effectively much larger with two 19"-ers than with a single 22".

For myself, I can edit word documents (right screen current version, left contains changes), or search an excel workbook and verify drawings on the other.

My setup has a 19" LCD almost centered, and a 19" CRT to the right.  So most work is done facing almost straight ahead.  Neck/muscle strain has never been a problem for me because I can never work for an hour without interruptions.

I use a wonderful program called WinDirStat that gives a clear simple summary of my hard drive.  What I would love to see is the same kind of overview of my RAM.  I have a widget deal that shows size used, and I can watch it grow over time when I don't re-boot for a month... 
But I can't tell what the actual memory hog is.  Maybe I should re-boot firefox more often?  Maybe something else?
Not being as clever as the program writers here, there may already be ways to do this- but how about something for the codelly challenged?

Something kinda related, that I have done since 1988.  I used to keep a yellow legal pad (now .doc) at my desk by my phone.  Every phone call starts withdate, Company-name, then any notes about the call.  It has saved my bacon on numerous occasions when I couldn't remember a quoted price, or who said exactly what.
On the PC, I can highlight in red my action items, and reformat when completed.  Every 6 months I start a new .doc and store the old one for history.

I was reading reviews on the Logitech model, and someone pointed out the obvious problems for lefties...
When I fractured my wrist awhile back, I was forced to train my left hand to use a RH, 3-button mouse at work.  What I discovered was a simple way to mouse and type (or check lists w/pen) using both hands.  I don't do this everyday, but the ability to mouse with either hand has come in handy, as well as get funny looks from co-workers sometimes.

The Dad-Blasted ribbon has even wormed itself into the 3D CAD we use at work.  I could learn to like the ribbon if they allowed customizaton- BUT NOOOO!
Not even a choice of placing often-used (BY ME) icons where I want them.
I dont hate MS or Office, just being told I dont have a choice.  Just drink the koolaid and be quiet.

I have FP6 at home and 5-something at work.  Not thrilled with version 6, but anything is better than file|print.  I wonder if it will be available for U3 so I can use it both places w/1 purchase.

One thing that helps me keep track of downloaded software, is a folder labeled "downloads & Drivers".
Inside I have a folder for every program I get, including: the original file, the unzipped (if applicable), a copy of the web page explaining it, and maybe a .txt file with password or key.

• What is your software worth to you? 
• How much time does it save? 
• If it wasn't available because the developer couldn't afford to make it, how much would that hurt your productivity?

I like to think if microsoft charged $100 for Vista, more people would think it was worth it and not try to steal.  I don't pirate, but I also don't like making the richest man in the world - richer!

The Opera browser uses mouse motions to speed browsing, such as moving the mouse to the left (while holding left) goes back a page.  Moving right goes forwards.  Down then left to minimise...
Without stealing, can this be done for windows or firefox?
