I have successfully revived two flat-screen monitors by re-capping.  All it takes a little finesse with screwdriver and soldering iron.  Cheap too, because I used recycled caps from old stereos.  The "Elmers" will tell you don't do that, but I've done it enough times to spot a bad cap in the first place, and my success rate speaks for itself. :Thmbsup:

Reminds me of the April 1st spoof one of the British TV channels did a few years back. It was a nature documentary about the penguins assembling in preparation for their annual migration - just as they started to fly to a warmer climate for the winter.

I remember that quite fondly.  I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but I did get a little wet-eyed when those little guys began to flap, lift, then soar.  I managed to breathe out "... look at 'em go!..." before I totally choked up.  The very idea of such gravity-bound creatures having 'slipped the surly bonds of earth' was, at that moment, overwhelming.

Well, that and well-chosen background music...  :-[
