Living Room / Re: Weird Window When Computer Boots Up
« on: June 06, 2009, 12:44 PM »
I talked to the tech that reinstalled WINDOWS XP and he told me to try to do SYSTEM RESTORE back about a week but I wasn't able to go back farther than June 4 and I already had the problem
then. I also getting a window on the bottom right of my computer that says:
"THIS COPY OF WINDOWS IS NOT ACTIVATED" .
My computer has a 45 day warranty and the tech told me that he's going to have to wipe the hard drive and reinstall WINDOWS XP again.
He also told me not to use SuperAntiSpyware anymore because it wasn't doing it's job because I got a problem and to only use AVAST. He also said to keep using ADWARE PROFESSIONAL and to do manual updates and scans once a week.
He also said to keep using ADWARE PROFESSIONAL and to do manual updates and scans once a week.
I'm also not going to shut off the computer and I'm either going to put it in SLEEP or HIBERNATE MODE.
I don't want to turn off the computer and turn it on later and have WINDOWS XP not be able to load at all like the last time.

When I try to use Activate Windows nothing happens.
When I checked if it was valid at the Microsoft site I get the
following message:
Windows Activation Required.
Windows must be activated in order to determine if the Windows product key installed on this computer is genuine.

I was told by someone else that something I can't detect (not sure what) its doing something
to my Windows XP making seem like its an invalid version. Is there a reason why I should
have to do this again when the tech that repaired my computer did this already????
I can't take these computer problems any longer!!!! I just paid $243 on May 11 to have my hard drive wiped and Windows XP reinstalled and I already have a problem.

I looked in the events viewer and under applications it had an warning at 1:24PM.
When I clicked on the info it said the following:
Your windows product has not been activated with Microsoft
yet. Use the product activation wizard within 5 days. This was event number 1005.
I have no idea what this means.
I also downloaded a ran a scan with ADWARE PROFESSIONAL and it found a severe
problem but when I removed it I still had that stupid box when the computer
booted back up.

I ran a complete scan using Trojan Hunter, SuperAntispyware and
Avast and nothing showed up.
Could this have something to do with me clicking to show hidden files????
I was trying to find the Application Data directory in Documents & Settings.
I since went back to hiding hidden files.

I don't know why it would just start doing this.
It just started today.
I'm going to run some scans and see if anything comes up.

The box doesn't show up in SAFE MODE.

Here is a detailed description of what the box looks like:
The box size is 2 inches long and the width is 1 1/2 inches.
There is a windows colored blue area the runs all the way
across and goes 1/4 of an inch downwards.
In the top left in the blue area is a small white square.
In the top right there is the normal red X in a square
that you would use to close a program but the area is
grayed out so you can't close is.
The rest of the box inside is white.
In the middle left of the box there is a a yellow
triangle which each side measures 1/4 of an inch.
There is a black ! in the middle of the triangle.
On the bottom left there is a 3/4 long and 1/4 wide
rectangle that is white inside with the word Yes in NORMAL
not BOLD print.
The bottom right has an exact same sized rectangle as the left
but it says No in NORMAL not BOLD print.

Sorry but I don't have a way to do that at the moment.
The ! is actually at the top left of the box inside a yellow triangle.
The symbol actually looks like the one that appears in the task bar when
there are updates for Windows XP and other programs.

I never seen this before and have no idea what this is.
I turn on my computer and when it gets to the point where its
blue and says WINDOWS this box appears in the middle of the
screen with an ! point in the middle and a YES and NO button
to push. It says nothing else and the computer won't finish
loading until I select YES or NO.
I hit NO both times and the computer finishes booting up.
I'm scared to see what would happen if I push YES.
Anyone have an idea what this is????

« on: May 13, 2009, 11:58 AM »
Thanks evryone for the replies!!!!
I used the latest version of KM which is 2.9.4.1434.
I finally found a player that would play everything except MOV.
The BS player. I like that player because I can pause the player which a click
of the mouse and do a screen capture. I can also set it so the videos will
play in fullscreen when clicked on.
I also installed the Quicktime player for MOVs.

« on: May 12, 2009, 04:42 PM »
Does anyone know a good video player that will play all file types like FLV, MOV, and MPG???
I don't like Windows Media Player because I am unable to keep it set on FULLSCREEN when I
click on the videos to play.
I tried KM player but it wouldn't play FLV or MOV files like it said it would.
I also tried VLC player but it wouldn't play MOV files like it said it would.
I don't care if I have to pay for the program.
I just want it to play whatever file I want to play and always open the file in fullscreen.

back and said that I didn't lose anything if
I have the Locker (*.flk file). I don't see it.

I tried calling the number but it said its disconnected.
I can only have 3 programs with Quick Tray and I can't configure anymore
unless I have a license. I still need something to replace it.
 :( :( :( :(

Well, I tried to pay for the license again at the Quick TRay website but its not secure,
I sent an email to them but it came back as being unable to be delivered.
There is a 1-800 number but you can only call it Monday thru Friday and I
haven't tried it yet.

General Software Discussion / Program At This Site????
« on: May 02, 2009, 03:12 AM »
I had this program called Quick Tray that placed an icon in the bottom right of the task bar which
when I left clicked on the icon any program I choose when I configured the program would be listed.
All I had to do is click on the program and it loaded. This saved desktop space.
I had to reinstalled my Windows XP because it got corrupted and I lost all my emails and all programs
that I had loaded.
Is there a program like Quick Tray here that I could download????
THANKS!!!!
