Indeed it is! I should have read tips.txt again.

No worries. I believe I have got a plan to make em more official anyway. (Separate from the add button caption all together.)

I also have a few other major things I have been able to do.  In turn people who have been using the program will need to do some action's on their own with this new version when I release it. I promise it will be worth it though. Don't click spoiler unless you want a little bit more info.

Spoiler
Like create a directory within the program directory and move their button data file to it...

2 - in your screenshot, there is no grid or visible separation between the column headers: I'm not sure if that's related to Windows 10's theme or due to a change you made, but I must admit I'm not a fan of this :( … imho it's better to have a visible indicator of where you should move the mouse cursor if you want to resize the columns, like I circled on the attached screenshot.

At the time of screenshots I was still working on that but at the time as well the columns resized to fit the contents somewhat. :) It should now be displaying the right side of the column.

From the screenshots only, I didn't figure about the "\n"s not being visible, but since they can't be seen, that wasn't obvious… and I don't think I quite like that either :(.
Since it is a dialog box intended for the user to review/change settings, and they are a part of those settings, I don't see much point in hiding them here. On the contrary, I suppose them not being visible might cause issues in figuring out exactly why a button is displaying as it is.
If you're editing the contents of a specific caption field, do the \n in that very field become visible then? If not, how do you make them visible, so you can know if there are any and where they are?

All of the \n will still show up in the editing of the button.  I could probably make it an option to display the original caption or the easier to read caption in the list if you would like?

I'm interested in the "linebreak" feature. Does that make like a horizontal line splitting the space in the interface into different areas, or am I misinterpreting it? If that's what it does, is there a way for the user to add some sort of header/title caption to the different areas?

I believe that should be in the current version and what that does is tells the next button after a linebreak to goto next line and any buttons will start from there but it still will not allow for a header/title as its mainly just something that the panel where the buttons go allow to set to do what I mentioned.  Use Linebreak for the button caption like you would use Separator for a separator.

78
Alright then, I'm still using it every day at work so I'm available if you have a version you want tested :D

Any thoughts on the new look? Personally I think it looks cleaner and easier to read.

Note: It does cleanup the caption for the display in list by removing the \n from the captions if it finds that in it along with making the separator and linebreak information for display in the list different but it doesn't mess with the original data as it just does that for the display version in the list any thoughts on that?

I have been working on a few areas of the program and cleaning up some code.  See screenshots of the button editor (icons might get redesigned) coming in a future release... :)

N.A.N.Y. 2020 / Alternate NANY 2020 Graphic Design - Finalized Design
« on: September 07, 2019, 09:31 PM »
Here is a graphic that I started working on early for this year's New Apps for the New Year.

Thought it might spur some interest in this years event.

RetroFuturistic,

I am not the author, so with that being said...

Enable the highlighted option on the following option page...
screen_07062019.png

Then you will have a dropdown button menu in the capture bar that you can click to get to the toggle that is named "Delay every capture..." that should do what you are wanting I believe.

Let us know if that satisfies what you are wanting.

Thanks!

Updated to 1.2.0 build 5.

Several bugs fixed from previous version and added a progress bar to the smoother open health data file experience.

See original post for download/website link.

83
it would be nice to see a recent screenshot.

Now that I am home again I was planning on it. Wanted to get the main update out before I had to leave.

First post will have the new smoother open health data file experience animated gif. :)

84
CRAP v1.0.152 build 10 was private beta just getting around to making it the official version. If you already have that version you should not have to re download this version again as it is identical to it.

New in this version is an icon extractor to get the icon from executable files.

All others see first post for download link.

Updated to 1.2.0 build 1.

Now includes the following data points in addition to all the previous version data points:

Stand Hours and Mindful Minutes.

Several bugs fixed and added a much smoother open health data file experience.

Note: The new smoother open health data file experience will be noticeable more so for large data sets.  For example my data set I used has at least 33,000 records using the combine option and over 220,000 when not combining some of the data points.

See original post for download/website link.

« on: March 22, 2019, 10:16 PM »
Hi HamRadio!

This is my first pick for something I can use nicely!
I "teach myself", and I'm always starting and abandoning note lists of stuff I get into.
I tend to have a book of the week going, and I'm about to get back into serious chess studying, and I'm a fan of "lightweight" stuff much of the time!

I had trouble printing it all onto one page from the html export, but I just hand edited the last of 4 subjects to have tight spacing and that works fine for "little things".

This is neat because the program holds the "Master" copy so when I did hard coded lists I kept wasting time starting and abandoning stuff, and of course the results were not electronic. Also, stuff can be shuffled and dates edited, so if I was "supposed" to do something and then "Life Happened", just shuffle and move it! Or make a new list and update what's still going on.

Also, it also works as a "concept tracker" so that it might even work for things like mini instruction guides to do stuff, or lists of the stuff to get at grocery stores best for dieting, and it fits nicely with that Getting Things Done motif I've remarked on about once a year on DC.

Hooray!

Cool. Glad you found an alternate use for it.  Still not that popular that I know of...so I probably wont update it yet as my use for it changed a few months after I wrote it. I just modified it some to release it on here. It is also kind of why it does not have a website and just a download link off my main site currently instead of on my dcmembers page. :)

The latest version of Vivaldi which uses Chromium for me shows: 72.0.3626.122

Do a manual update from the "Help > Check for Updates..." menu item.  Latest Chromium version is 73.0.3683.67.

Vivaldi is a little behind in the Chromium versions I just wanted to see if it was above the zero-day version.

As it is why I said what I did and also what deo said later...

For Vivaldi you can do: vivaldi://settings/help

The latest version of Vivaldi which uses Chromium for me shows: 72.0.3626.122

Manual update tells me I'm on the latest version of Vivaldi (2.3.1440.60), where Help -> About tells me it's using Chrome/72.0.3626.122.

I wonder if the load times increase that much when using a SSD?

I am not sure as I do not have one of those.

Hi there :]

I only tested the beta you PMed me a link to a little for now as I'm home this week, but it seems to be working fine.

I would have preferred if the user could actually link to the .exe (or a .dll), and also be able to chose which icon to select when there are several inside of it (just like when modifying a shortcut from Windows), instead of just automatically extracting the first icon, but it's still an improvement over the previous versions where any icon had to already be extracted somewhere :)

Heres a little more of an explanation of why I got it doing what it is with the beta I let you try...

Loading from the executable directly each launch of CRAP could add second(s) to the load of program is one reason I am trying to keep it as images. (See footnote below.) Especially since I have not figured out the way currently for C Sharp to do as is possible with shortcuts, which would allow choosing of icons. I could let it load the default icons from the program each time, but it is essentially the same exact ones I am saving which also reduces the load time of CRAP initially. I have looked briefly...so if I figure out how to do as with shortcuts and other programs I will explore adding that method more at that time.

Footnote: I got both methods in Portable Extension Warlock. The difference is noticeable in my opinion.

93
Up!

Would it be possible to make it so that, when creating a new button, the icon can be retrieved from / linked directly to an .EXE or .DLL file (like in Windows shorcuts) ?

Okay...I think I will be able to do exe for sure by attempting to extract and save the icon in an icons folder in 3 different sizes. (Attempting sizes of 32x32, 24x24, 16x16).

With that said I am close to having it implemented and ready to go since I am reusing some code from another one of my apps.

It is suppose to default to 32x32 and work down as well as determine if any valid icons exist that it can get and if not will ask you to try again.

I think this tool is for creating a printout or Web page of the work assignments that you will teach for the week. Not necessarily the time period.
It is something you can definitely do in other ways but this program is very lightweight and simple.
So for example;

Math:
1/7 - Simple fractions
1/8 - Integers
1/9 - Systems of Equations
Etc..
You can add more info to each line as the summary for the lesson.
Hope this helps.

Thank you MichaelWa for helping while I was busy.

[ Invalid Attachment ] :-*

I am a teacher !
I don't understand what is meant by "assignments for each day of the week for each class you teach at your school".
The timetable ?
 :-\

I put a screenshot

Anyways...

Basically what MichaelWa said...as you can add all the subjects you teach and under each subject put the assignments for the week that you will be teaching in class and/or homework assignments and display online and/or print for the students.  You save each week and the default week is the current week, but you can also switch week days pretty fast to get to the week you want. For each week you should start with a blank form.

Note: I would be open to possibly building in a template based system for the html design if enough thinks it would be useful.

TIP If you didn't figure it out unchecking a day will disable it. Then to the left of where you add/remove subjects you may check that to automatically mark em as a student holiday or leave unchecked to just not display that day.

Tried to post this to SuperUser, and even offered a bounty, but didn't get much luck.

I am looking for a Filemon/Procmon type program which has better filtering and more importantly, allows you omit near-duplicate lines from being logged. There can be hundreds or thousands of these rows, and they really complicate trying to find other transactions.

For example, take a look at this image. I don't want to see Irfanview updating its .ini file 1 zillion times, specifying every single time it locks, queries, reads, writes, unlocks, or whatever else it apparently wants to do.

Process Monitor is apparently not up to the job, but maybe there's similar software which can perform this fundamental task?

Have you tried the filters from the filter menu to filter what you do not want shown?

Just got back to computer after being away again.  I will take a look as soon as possible.

An interesting article...

A Virginia federal court has made a decision that photographers won’t be happy to hear: the court ruled that finding a photo on the Internet and then using it without permission on a commercial website can be considered fair use.
