2  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: LaunchBar Commander "stealing" focus when "stay on top" enabled on: April 04, 2013, 01:47:42 PM
 Thmbsup Dang it!

Thanks for that tip jpprater! I did not realize that setting that switch would help with the issue...

For now, that helps me out! It is mildly frustrating when I am trying to right click on items and choose what I need from the context menu to have to keep trying it until I can actually keep the menu open long enough to get the item I want. I really like the application though, and I was continuing to use it even with the minor frustrations.

Thanks again for posting that tip!

Mouser - I have been using SSC 4 for about a week now and it is Great! (as usual)

I just wanted to send you a more descriptive screen cap video of the problem. The issue seems to occur with MS Office apps as well as other applications, and it is the context menu that loses focus as noted in the video. Once LBC is closed, the context menu starts working as expected.

Strangely, this does not happen EVERY time I try, but most of the time.

Thanks for making these great applications!

Mouser - I mistakenly posted my screenshot in the version info thread.

Apologies...

This really is a great application!

Launchbar Commander is a really useful tool!  Thmbsup However, I too have noticed that the utility when running steals focus when the context menu/right click functionality is being used. For example, when LBC is running and I try to highlight a number of emails in Outlook and move them to another folder with the right click/Context menu - the menu just blinks off and I have to start over and try again. This also happens with other applications as well. This is not a show stopper for me though, the usefulness of the application trumps the annoyance.

Mouser - Thanks for taking the time to create this utility!

Has this issue been brought up before?

Best regards,

Don

 Grin Thanks Mouser!

Launchbar Commander works great! I downloaded the latest version (1.33.01) and encountered the Excel file issue. After updating with the beta linked (1.34.01) Excel files open smoothly! Great program!

thumbs up I have been using Softmaker Office since 2008 version and I love the software. It's fast and feature rich, the addition of eM client with 2012 Professional edition was a great move!

I use eM client V4.x exclusively for email, and haven't had any problems with it. No software is perfect, but I must say I don't regret switching to Softmaker Office and ditching MS Office.

Just my opinion, I realize your's may vary...

I empathize with you.

I stopped using TheBat! for the same reasons you mentioned, even though I am a licensed user.

I purchased Softmaker Office Pro and part of the suite is the "eM Client" which I have switched to using exclusively for email.

No email client is perfect, however I didn't want to deal with the frustration any longer. It was time to cut bait and run.

Just my opinion, I know many others mileage may vary...

11  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Do you touch-type or hunt-and-peck? on: October 04, 2009, 10:15:23 AM
I learned touch typing on my own and IMO it is a definite must have skill. I can type about 25 wpm (as long as there are no numbers) in the thoughts I am putting down. I still have to look when I want to use numbers in the top row.

Since I have never been taught formal typing, I can't speak to that - but I would think that it would be a benefit to any child in the current technological environment.

Thanks for asking!
12  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: General brainstorming for Note-taking software on: July 11, 2008, 09:00:41 PM
For general notetaking software I have been using Treepad Business edition for a few years. I use it for business and personal use. It has a nice function that will let you export your notes or data to a web page, I have found this particularly useful for Intranet help pages.

You can check the program out at www.treepad.com. There is a freeware version, but the purchase version has much more functionality. It is a hierarchical tree based notepad or freeform database. It handles tables and pictures as well as text. It does not have any web capture capability that I know of.

I just wanted to throw this out there as I did not see it on the listing.
