Nice new feature - if you want to add some extra mods ...

- Bookmark groups (or folders)
- Mutilple delete
- Rename book mark

would be useful.

Groups would be useful (though may be a step to far) but perhaps the marks could be grouped under board titles?

How about auto add your own new threads (ie. threads an individual starts - not just posts to)

I would like to second Carol's suggestion as all of these would add more control to MyBookmarks (especially folders/groups).

Thanks, Dave

WOW!.....did that suck!  Don't believe the hype, this movie failed on so many levels, there is nothing more to say.  Except maybe, Plastic Hollywood Crap

Wow!  I had exactly the opposite reaction.  I loved every second of it.  Loved the casting, the story, everything.  I am going to see it at least 2 more times in the theater and will buy the DVD the day it is released.  It was successful on every level to me smiley

I guess that is the good thing about the world, many varied opinions.  From what I have seen though, your view is definitely in the minoirity.  Even the critics liked it (76% positive on rottentomatos.com).

Yah I noticed that as soon as I got back.  But that's ok.  During the movie I couldn't help but think how much better Spiderman was and wishing it was Spiderman3 I was watching.  I am a huge fan of Superman too, from the Comics, to the original TV show in the 50's aka. Adventures of Superman, to the Superfriends cartoon, Lois & Clark, Smallville and especially Superman I and even Superman II.

Also, just a reminder, for those that didn't know Richard Donner's version of Superman I was the one released in theaters and to tape/dvd later.  But he was not the one that put #2 together, even though they were filmed at the same time (with Donner in charge of that), he was cut from the project.  Well, someone who worked closely with Donner then and understands what he wanted the second movie to be is re-editing the hours of unused footage into a completely different take on Superman II, which will be released on DVD in the fall when Superman Returns comes to DVD.

180  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Small utility for finding Wireless Networks? on: June 27, 2006, 07:10:47 PM
"Windows Network Connection" will show you if there are any wireless networks available where you are. Just right click on the little connection icon in the system tray and choose "Show Available Wireless Networks".

(By the way I'm pretty sure it is illegal to connect via a wireless network without the owners knowledge and permission.)

Actually it's more illegal to leave a network unsecured.  Unless you are using an unsecured network to do illegal activties, there are not clear laws against using them.  This is here in the states anyways (so far)

i agree about not wanting to repeat a bad experience.

speaking more on the idiots i mentioned above - i'd put it down to the power of advertising, or should i say the power of the established brand. i know these people i refer to aren't going to buy a samsung - because in their world samsung doesn't equate to 'hard drive' (and obviously they don't value my opinion) so they'll keep buying the brand that has become synonymous with 'hard drive' in their stagnant brain.

there are fanboys for every type of product.

(just thought i better add - i'm speaking personally about the idiots i know - my example refers to the times that these people have bought goods online where samsung, maxtor, wd, etc, etc have been almost identically priced and available from the same store.)

I'm not taking your criticism personally as you noted, but I know my stagnant brain tells me not to buy anything but Seagate.  Considering purchases for myself and other peoples computers over the last 3 years, I have bought over 35 seagate drives 120gb-400gb (mostly 120gb/200gb 7200.7 series) Not a damn one has had an issue yet.  I don't see why I would change a thing with a hard to beat track record like that. By the way steer clear of the 7200.8 series from seagate and consider the 7200.9 or 7200.10 stuff if anyone does consider them.

YES! YES! YES!  Finally!  Without having to edit my own file with zoom preferences on a page by page basis,  my endless quest for a good text zoom addon has finally come.

I just noticed THIS NoSquint (http://urandom.ca/nosquint/) new addon over at the Firefox addons page (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/55/) for the never updated, less impressive, TextZoom.

This guy is my freakin hero!  As with the previous text zoom, it will adjust the zoom permantly on a whateverpercentyouwant basis OR remember how you zoom on each domain you visit for each following visit.  Awesome.

I too have bought over 25 AMS Venus enclosures from either NewEgg.com or Meritline.com depending who has the better prices at the time.  Between my own use and for computers I build for other people (or hard drives in this case) I have yet to see or hear of a problem with a single one of these enclosures i ordered.  For the record 22 of them have been their usb 2.0 enclosures and 4 have been their usb2.0/firewire400 enclosures.  Great bang for the buck if you just want something that works very dependably and has great compatibility with drives up to 400gb last time I checked.  Also note, feedback on NewEgg hints that some of their other models (SATA) might not be quite as reliable.
184  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Recommendations for good external hard drive solutions? on: June 06, 2006, 06:29:26 PM
Pretty slick.

May I add, don't ever buy an external drive from the hard drive manufacturers.  Warranties on those are C-R-A-P (1-year).  Buy an internal drive and put it in your own enclosure and get the full 5-year warranty (Seagate).
185  News and Reviews / Best Music Service / Re: tech crunch article comparing music services on: June 06, 2006, 06:24:20 PM
If people don't feed the growing monster that is Allofmp3.com how will we ever have a chance for fair pricing & fair usage in our music files.  This time I must look the other way in the interests of the long term.  I would like to see the artists get their FAIR share through AllofMp3 even if it meant I pay a quarter a song instead of 12 cents.  But again, if this company can continue to somehow exist and do more and more damage to the Music Industry and its rip-off model for business, GOOD. Then they have to rethink their approach to business and make more consumer friendly models and offerings.

Here's a link to a review of the QTEK 9100 (it's in italian, but the are lots of photos and the tech specs & graphs are universal:

Link: HWUpgrade.it - QTEK 9100: il piccolo genio

I have that same phone, except it's the T-mobile MDA in the USA.  If you can deal with the negatives, like being a bit bulky for a phone, having a low maximum volume on the handset and getting terrible reception inside most office buildings (I work in & out of many office buildings all day) and I am constantly dropping signals, also going into roaming areas you may not even find a signal in areas that need a medium to strong antenna to get signal.  If you can deal with those, this is a marvelous phone.  It's even overclockable and hackable to wirelessG, even though the specs don't say it.  And many other hacks and things, it's great for notes, scheduling, surfing when you need quick info like: weather, traffic, gas prices, phone numbers, etc...  I will elaborate more later, but I gotta go to work now smiley
187  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Is firewire better than USB? on: June 05, 2006, 08:02:36 PM
I too have experienced more corruption and lost files using Firewire, although I would much prefer its sustained transfer rate, I cannot bring myself to risk losing data.  I have no idea about these drivers that may fix any issues.  Just reporting my experience.
188  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Do we care about HD-DVD/Blu-Ray? on: June 05, 2006, 07:13:12 PM
Whoops, did I miss the boat on that one or what.  I immediately read into the post from an entertainment medium POV.  As far as storage goes, it will be nice someday to be able to archive to these larger capacities.  But until the reliability is as good or better than dvd writing and pricing is on par per gig with dvd, I can't imagine investing any money in them.  By then it will be easy to decide which to use.  Holodiscs.  (hah)
189  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Excel File Compare Tool on: June 05, 2006, 06:24:22 PM
Can anyone recommend a file compare utility that does a good job comparing the contents of similar excel documents?  I recently have had a hard time sorting different versions of files i used to edit and keep on different computers.
I did try a couple programs but found Beyond Compare and some other program did not do a good job with this.  There was one program I had tried a while ago and found it did a decent job, but I can't seem to remember it now Sad
Help, from anyone with experience with this?
190  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Do we care about HD-DVD/Blu-Ray? on: June 05, 2006, 06:11:47 PM
I've had a Hi-Def 720p projector for about 18 months now.  I love it and I have wanted more things to play in Hi-Definition because satellite and cable channel selections still pretty much stink.  But I actually have no interest in what they are peddling,  too many restrictions that can be implemented at ANY point in time down the road.  When all of the protections are cracked and everything can be controlled by ME, I would happily spend $15-$25 per title on various movies in such quality.  And no, I'm not some big pirate, as I have spent more money than I care to recall on DVD's (think big, really BIG).  I will continue to buy DVD's when I feel the 'Best' version has been released of a particular movie and NOT the first plain version that comes out, which is followed by a version with special features, which is followed by an extended version, then by a extended version with the features included, etc...  The industry just doesn't have my support or attention, and I try to make everyone I know as aware as I have kept myself, hopefully everyone will not cave in to this new RESTRICTED technology, until it can work in their best interest.  Instead of enabling media industries, which constantly position themselves to take every single penny they can get from every person in every which way.
/end rant
191  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Do you use any GTD/calendar system to get organized? on: June 04, 2006, 11:06:08 PM
Calendarscope, but currently on strike from that program as i don't want to pay the $19.95 upgrade fee.  $9.95 every 12 months, regardless of version progression? (which is what they do) that would be reasonable.  $19.95 is a bit much for something that evolves so slowly.  But it is good.

I don't know how far along you are with your review, but I also noticed some good renaming capabilities of the free G6 Utilities from Gene6 http://www.gene6.com/ (mid-way down the page).
193  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: new alt.comp.freeware usenet thread with criticism of DonationCoder on: May 16, 2006, 11:05:05 AM
These people are just anal zealots, DonationCoder has a great policy for its software & it isn't going to, nor should it change. And yes, I DO consider it to be Freeware, because in the end you can get it permanently for free, so what if you have to jump through a couple hoops.  I say let them argue all they want, they obviously have nothing more important to talk about.  If I like a program I'm not gonna let some very simple steps stop me from using it or calling it Freeware.
