I'll post the source code just as soon as I get home for the holidays! (It's on my home computer, and I'm currently at college)

I'm honestly still a bit confused about what it's useful for! I guess it could be used to extract data from a printed graph, but then why would one need to find the area of a polygon??? Hmmm... whatever. As long as it helps someone out, I'm happy.

Well, on that note, Version 3.0 of Coordinator is done! All requested features have been integrated in some form or another. Unfortunately it's taken me a while--work has been a bit crazy lately, I've been preparing for an upcoming leadership at our church's summer middle- and high-school camps, and I've been preparing for a missions trip to St. John later this summer. Nevertheless, this version is complete, and (finally) I've figured out how to draw lines anti-aliased.

I was unable to replicate the exception after clicking hundreds of points. I basically reorganized the entire drawing system though, so the issue may have resolved itself (I suspect that is the what caused the exception in the first place). Also, the original behavior of not allowing you to close shapes was intentional--I didn't think you would want it to allow duplicate points. Now, it will only prevent placing a new point if that point is the same as the previous (accidental double-click) or the previous's previous (double-backing).

Comments are more than welcome, but I won't get them for a week or so (away at aforementioned camps). Enjoy  :)

Version 2.0.0.0!  I've added all suggested features plus a few more (minus print screen which already has a key on the keyboard). Enjoy!

It may be a bit too late now, but I'll start work on this. Even if this thread has been abandoned, it seems like a useful app.

Finished Programs / Re: ALT-TAB edge of the screen (new)
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:33 PM »
This thread may have already been exhausted but I've made a quick app (Edge Roll) for this purpose. Unlike (I think) the other apps posted though, it reserves the edges of the screen (like, but not using, coral desktop) so there's no issues with scrolling, highlights the edges on hover with an adjustable delay time and can optionally mimic Alt+Tab or Alt+Esc behavior. Enjoy!  :)

In the zip is both the installer (for standard users) and the Edge Roll standalone (for users who don't need to work through the "Add/Remove Progams" control panel interface).

Hehe, I didn't want it to be obtrusive--just a little blurb hoping to help out some kids in Uganda with serious need.

One-Click MouseTM is done! Enjoy  ;D, it should work for Win98 too!

When running, the right-button acts like the left. However, when [Ctrl] is pressed, both buttons will act like the default right. Don't forget to add the application to startup!

Comments and suggestions are welcome--email is in the about dialog!

I'm almost done with a quick program that should solve your problem. If I have a chance tomorrow, I'll finish it up and post it here.  :)

...oh, and it'll work on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista.

Here's the Beta. Enjoy! Feedback and suggestions are very much welcomed--email is in the about dialog.  ;D

11
Is this generally what you are describing (plus xy coordinates to text and a couple other options)?

See attachment...

So I can better design the app, what is its purpose?

BTW I'm about halfway done with it now--what parameters would it need (e.g. variable grid size, variable opacity)?

Finished!  ;D

[edit: zip file is now attached]

Enjoy! And any feedback, suggestions, or informal beta testing would be much appreciated  :)  (email is in the about dialog)

P.S. MS Visual Studio automatically makes an installer for some reason, but there's really no need--no file or registry settings, no services, no startup, no extra crap.

Sorry, it's taking a bit longer than I expected. I'm actually a student at Duke University, and this is exam week. Once summer hits, though, at the end of next week, you can bet I'll be done quickly. Here's a screenshot of the final GUI: http://i29.tinypic.com/rljls6.png

I just need to do a bit of code cleanup and reorganization, a few additional error dialogs, building the file and folder systems, and deciding upon a name and icon.

Recently, I've also added a progress bar (pops out on bottom), a status dialog, saving solution to XML format, variable media size constraints, listview icons, a simplifying algorithm for the generated blocks, and multi-threading so progress bar updates and the app doesn't lock up when performing long operations (e.g. folder size of a folder with lots of subfolders, generating blocks for massive amounts of data). I think I've got a pretty good balance of simplicity, usability, and intuitiveness to functionality and features-ness. And yeah, that beta feedback would be much appreciated when I finish.

Here's a screenshot of the working interface. Of course it's missing some things (and ignore the white textbox--it's for debugging), but the essentials are there. I think it's pretty intuitive, especially when you can click the buttons. Also, it has full drag-n-drop functionality (aggh, hardest part oddly enough).

Notice the efficiency trackingbar. When generating blocks it is used to decide when it would be preferable to split large folders into its subfolders. I'd be happy to take any suggestions   :)

P.S. I emphasize that this is a very rough outline. WHile functional, I still have some clean-up to do.

I've got it functional now. Another week and it should be adequately cleaned up.
