Yeah, it was Sandboxie. Thank you very much!

About 5 years ago I've used a Windows Freeware tool that was able to contain a Windows executable file in a on the fly virtual machine.

All registry writes were redirected into data files etc.

I need it again, but I forgot the name and googling for 30 minutes didn't help.

Maybe someone from you does know what software I'm talking about.

The freeware ImDisk Toolkit has added the dynamic allocation feature.

It works very well.

General Software Discussion / Re: Linkman 8.80 released
« on: May 23, 2013, 02:28 AM »
James, from 8.80 the port is used also in IE (where is the message that says it's only for FF, Chrome, and Opera?).

Please set the port back to 80 or 81, then go to the Linkman IE Toolbar menu and set it also to the same port.

You can do it from all browsers using the Linkman Plugin buttons and right click menus (for example 'Add all tabs to Linkman' in Firefox), but currently you cannot select a name for the folder. The folder's name is the same as the title of the first tab. You can rename it of course.

Living Room / Re: Ad-Blockers Kicked From Google Store
« on: March 16, 2013, 02:34 PM »
On Windows all Adblockers, including Adblock plus remove Google ads just fine. On Android I've tested all of them, and they left Google ads (the ones with yellow background). I guess since they were in Playstore the Devs tried to not piss off Google (but failed).

JMac,

right-click menu customization is on schedule for 8.90.

We haven't had time to add customization to the Firefox addon, as it's a nightmare to code Firefox addons (you are fiddling around with a simple text editor and have to restart Firefox 1 million times). So I cannot promise it in 8.90, but you could do it yourself:

1. Get LinkmanFox.xpi from http://www.outertech...fox-bookmark-manager
2. Unzip the content
3. Open chrome\content\browser.xul in a text editor
4. Search for <statusbar id="status-bar">
5. here you see the icons as statusbarpanel entries
6. remove the entries you don't need and save
7. zip the files (including folder structure) as LinkmanFoxNew.xpi
8. Drag & Drop LinkmanFoxNew.xpi to the Firefox window

I've tried all the Adblockers when their were still in the Playstore, and all of them still displayed Google ads on Google search. Is there an Adblocker that removes Google ads?

General Software Discussion / Re: Linkman 8.80 released

xtabber,

The installer tries to read the installation location from here in the Registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Outer Technologies\Linkman.exe\Path and if found sets the installation to this folder. I've made a quick test with a freshly installed Win7 x64 in a Virtual Machine. Installed Linkman Pro 8.80 to c:\apps\Linkman. After installation, launched the installer again and it pointed to c:\apps\Linkman.

As to other issue. I've noted down that Start Menu and Desktop shortcuts should be separated for the next installer iteration.

General Software Discussion / Re: Linkman save methodology
« on: March 15, 2013, 12:50 AM »
Steven, as discussed in the email, save works like this:

database.ba1 is renamed to database .ba2
database.ba0 is renamed to database .ba1
database.lmd is renamed to database .ba0

this happens before writing anything.

then the new database.lmd is written.

In case of a system crash/file system error, the .lmd file could be smaller than .ba0 file if the .lmd file was not written correctly/to the end.

SKA, our support usually never stops working on an issue until an issue is resolved. Please contact it again. You may also want to try Linkman 8.80, as the communication protocol of the IE Addon was completely changed.

I could be wrong here, but I'm 99% sure this is the standard since at least two years.

edit: you can now configure if the window should pop-up at cursor, or the position it was placed on before.
